"After visiting this restaurant for approx 10 years, we visited recently for a family birthday and to say we are disappointed is a huge understatement and it will be our last visit. We ordered a variety of dim sum and noddles to share which worked out at £45 a head (incl drinks). Whilst quite pricey, We don 't mind paying that much if the food is nice but most of it was bad quality. The pork shumai was disgusting and honestly inedible, the chicken feat in black bean sauce came out red in colour like it had been curried, furthermore the seafood had the taste of ammonia. The Vietnamese spring rolls had changed since our last visit, and whilst they were fine, they were not as tasty as before. We heard the dimsum chef had recently not been working and dim sum was off the menu for a period of time and we can only assume that the chef must have left. Also we only arrived at 1pm (opens at 12) yet one third of the dishes were sold out and marked off the dim sum menu. One other complaint is that after 10 years of regularly visiting this restaurant, no current staff have ever made an effort to ask our name or even acknowledge we have been before which we never minded before when the food was tasty. We are young and non-chinese in terms of ethnicity and we saw the restaurant staff greet other customers with a lot more acknowledgement and we even saw they knew the table next to us regular order which is ironic since we are also regulars. Seemed like they never made any effort to greet us. Will avoid from here on out."

"Carluccios was my first dining experience out following I was impressed by the measures put in place by the team and how well these were adhered to. I felt completely at ease throughout my meal, staff wore face masks, tables were socially distanced, staff...were visibly washing their hands/using hand sanitiser throughout and the cleanliness of the restaurant was unmatched. It was reassuring to see these protocols in place during these uncertain times. The staff really went above and beyond to deliver the authentic Carluccio’s experience despite the current challenges! My experience was amazing from beginning until end. I was greeted by management at the door and by the wonderful bar team, Gemma and Emma, who made me feel welcomed with their friendly greetings as I shown to my table. I was then greeted by my amazing waitress Sasina, who is an absolute credit to the team! She was so friendly and bubbly, very attentive to our needs and delivered an overall wonderful experience! Our drinks order was taken promptly, we were asked if we had any allergies (very impressive and offered bread and olives to start off with. Once our drinks arrived, our food order was taken quickly without any hassle. Sasina suggested the lasagna for my main with a side of the garlic and rosemary roast potatoes. Her suggestions were superb! Sasina was also very mindful of the fact my guest was a vegetarian, making sure to point out all the vegetarian options (and even went out of her way to get some vegetarian Parmesan cheese Our food came promptly and cannot be faulted. It tasted incredible (big thanks to the amazing chefs We had the garlic focaccia with cheese, tomato bruschetta and calamari to start which was delicious. The calamari is the best I have ever had! And for mains, we had the lasagna and the spinach and ricotta ravioli (which the lovely Sasina was able to change the usual sauce to a tomato one with a side of garlic and rosemary roast potatoes. Our meal was phenomenal and the service was even better! My mother and I will be returning to dine with the amazing team at Carluccios without a doubt! Overall, the restaurant had a lovely, welcoming ambiance. All of the staff were smiley and friendly and all made a point of saying goodbye to us as we left the restaurant. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the mouth-watering new menu! Thank you all for a terrific experience!"

"as you all should know, this girl loves to eat her! So I wanted to try something else I didn't have before. so yak yeti was your turn. I ordered online, although the restaurant is like a 5-minute drive away, (feeling fazy did not want to go to dress up, etc.) so I decided for my starter networks. the food was delivered within 30 minutes, it was still hot, bonus! container that they used were very good, so no spillage at all. popadoms were crispy, went nice with the dips. regarding eating, not only did it look delicious, it also melts delicious. then I tried and o to the m to the g, it was spicy, too spicy in the did that I continued to eat. my mouth has broken the food, as I said, looked delicious, so I tried another gift from the dish shot, still too spicy. Now I have no taste at all, but it is a Nepalese restaurant that they use spiced by many species, I guess. but whatever they use is too spicy for me, if I tried to continue, I would later be in jeopardy, because my just don't do spicy food. as a girl who loves to eat, I will not destroy this restaurant just because I cannot tolerate spicy foods. in future I will notify the restaurant to add not seasoned over very mild to future orders. this restaurant has a very good high review online so I encourage them to try it for themselves, just remember that eating can be sharp. otherwise they hope a wonderful day! love as always justine xxx styleoutyourhome"

"We were really looking forward to trying the seafood platter. The presentation wasn 't exciting, felt like everything had just been plopped onto the platter with no thought. There was water and brine puddling on the platter, I overheard someone on the table next to us saying the same thing about theirs. Perhaps they were short-staffed and it was an off day because whoever prepared our platter had little experience and no love for seafood which is simple to prepare especially in a seafood restaurant. Most of the seafood had obviously just been defrosted, hence the water. I do feel that the seafood shouldn 't be advertised as being 'fresh ' when this isn 't the case, fresh should be advertised as fresh and where frozen you as a restaurant are obliged to let customers know they are paying for and eating frozen seafood. Some but not all customers know the difference straight away. Whether a customer can tell the difference is irrelevant, it isn 't good practice to not be truthful especially where food is concerned. The only reason I was reluctant to complain was because this was a treat and I didn 't want to ruin the afternoon. We will return to the island which is really lovely but unfortunately not back to this place which strangely doesn 't even offer basic traditional fish and chips, I fact no hot food at all! After wandering around, there are much nicer places to eat for next time."
