"Visited lost Found in Portstewart last Friday afternoon for some lunch. Checked the outdoor menu which stated food served until 3.30pm. Went ahead on inside. Started to briefly read the menu at the till as aware from previous visits that you order on arrival yourself at the counter. Was told by the female counter staff that we had 8 minutes to place our order and to take the menus to the table. We did this. Then when we said excuse me to the same member of staff, from our table, that we’d like to order, we were told we had to come back to the till. This made no sense whatsoever. From the moment we stepped in and were told that we had 8 minutes to order should have been the red flag I guess. Friday afternoon, not long till closing, they just didn’t want to be bothered prepping two rounds of food, The two members of staff in the premises had the worst attitude and no ounce of personality to be in the role that they are in. Every thing seemed to be a complete bother. May I also add, the food was very skimp, re portion sizes plus they seem to care more about the presentation than the food itself re the logo branded paper underneath the food. Try attempting to cut sourdough bread on this, not easy unless you want a mouthful of paper. Then when it comes to hot drinks, no sugar or milk provided. Yet again had to approach the till and ask for these to be provided with milk in a paper cup yet another couple had a glass jug of milk on their table (less dishes to wash I guess) and no white sugar at all, had to make do with brown sugar for tea. When asked for refills of hot water we were given a half full glass of this and then when asked for it to be filled up, yet again a whole botheration. Oh and don’t even get me started on the toilet facilities. Dingy to say the least. The premises in portstewart should never have reopened when it did as Lost and Found, previous owner/cafe was far more superior in all ways. Will not be back"

"I am a local and regular customer. the coffee and the bakers here are overpriced for a takeaway, but I like the setting/view, so I prepared a bit extra for it. But on Sunday afternoon I had a terrible experience after I had paid only for coffee and tablet bakers, I asked the server to wipe off my table empty cups and spilled coffee from previous inmates. the server suddenly replied that she had no time and gave me a bucking paper towel to do it yourself! I explained calmly that it was not inappropriate to ask her to clean the table, as I did not want to clean the last occupant fair, she was rude and denied. I asked myself to talk to the manager, I explained again that I should not be expected to clean someone else chaos on the table - the manager /supervisor was also hesitant to clean my table-- say that she had run away from her feet' she would give me paper towels, were run away from her feet and she would give me paper to do it series of herself, the caffe people had a since I tried to put my position and emphasize their responsibility, re covid, she broke me off and said: "We'll just let it go on running", I had no opportunity but to return to a dirty table. the supervisor finally came to our table, removed the previous inmates coffee, but it was very obvious that she was resentful. I have never experienced such rudeness and complete lack of respect for customer service. I spent here about the years good money and the business supported during the financial statements, but I will not be back. there is no absolute apology to cleanse a table for a customer!"

"My husband and I visited Amici’s for a Saturday lunch. We have been before and have always enjoyed. Our order was taken and I did notice the server hadn’t written it down. Not always a great sign… The food arrived promptly and my penne salmon was lovely. It was only when my husband was eating the first 1/4 of his burger he realised there was no cheese in the hickory burger which he had ordered with chips. There was a small amount of lettuce and a small scrape of sauce. The server came back to ask if everything was ok, I explained the situation. He took the burger away immediately and assured he would rectify the order- that was fine. He came back shortly to say that the Amici burger didn’t actually come with cheese but they were sorting it in the kitchen anyway! Awkward when my husband told him it was actually the hickory burger that had been ordered which (you guessed it) he hadn’t written down!!! He did apologise and admit it was his fault. Meanwhile, I continued to pick at my food solo while it went cold. Eventually another server offered to take my food to keep it warm. Thanks to them. Shortly after the ‘new’ burger returned with the correct filling in a fresh bap. At last we could resume what we thought was going to be a nice lunch… We laughed in disbelief when my husband cut in to the burger to realise there was 1/4 missing!! Very poor to think that they couldn’t even be bothered to remake the correct order and instead scraped off and reserved the old burger!!! Burger and chips tasted fine but I’m really annoyed. Eating out is just too expensive now for things not to be right! And yes- we were charged full price!!"

"today to say that they were short personal, which was good, waitress explained, we had to go to the bar to order meals themselves, which was absolutely in order again. we have set ourselves and ordered our meals in the bar fast enough. However...no child menu was available, we were told that this was a menu for everyone. every adult meal came apart about mins and a meal was not served, all we thought it was on the way because the great waiting time served between other meals. a meal was absolutely ice cold and it was not possible this was explained to the waiting staff and the meal was taken away without other cakes. as I eat my meal, I discovered a wood shock that was redirected to the waiting staff. the young waiter took the wood from me, examined it, threw it on the floor and told me: “I am not the cook.” about a few minutes later a waitress came to ask, everything was in order and I explained a meal was ice cold, there were wood in mine (which I was not able to show her how the younger waiter threw it away) and another meal did not arrive at all. about a few minutes later the same waitress came back to explain after talking to the cook, the wood was “cold”. my brother in law was with me who is in the did a cook himself and could confirm that this was not ingwer, it was sharp and could scratch the skin. I then asked how the cook would know that it was ingwer if he did not really see the foreign object in my meal!? my man asked the personal if they had baby change facilities they told him they hadn't done it, they explained there was only one disabled toilet on the doorstep. my son had to be moved on the floor in the bathroom. when I later asked where the toilets were to be used for me, I was directed on toilets below that in the did perfectly functioning baby change facilities! the manager wouldn't talk to us and instead he sent his waiting staff to communicate with us. we got a refund for the unsatisfactory meals, but that was far from the standard we expected, I can confirm that I never returned to this restaurant."
