"I used to regularly visit this deli years ago when i lived in the locale. I have paid a few visits since and I am sorry to say it has lost it’s mojo. I visited today with my 79 year old mother. First of all, we waited for quite a while in the queue. Secondly, they seemed to only have teenagers/young adults as employees on a lovely Saturday which would predict it would be busy, When we eventually neared the till to place our order, my mother was tired and i told her to sit at a visible empty table. There was a young customer and friend paying at the till just before us and on seeing my mother sitting at the table in front of the till, the young girl gestured to the person at the till and he loudly announced to my mother that the table was ‘reserved’. There was no reservation sign at the table and considering the only other table was outside and it was a very cold morning, the staff should have used a titter of wit and prioritised a pensioner. Surely this isn’t asking too much? My mother was embarrassed and so retreated to the only available table outside, where we sat for a good 20 minutes before our two sandwiches, yes, i kid you not, sandwiches or deli rolls as they like to call them, were delivered. The tea we ordered was cold by the time it was delivered to table, the menu only had about 6 items you could order from pancakes to salad to the deli rolls.. i mean, in this day and age, is that all they have? Won’t be back get some adult employees, extend the range of your menu and train those adult employees to have a bit of sense when it comes to customer service and not prioritise their mates! In addition, no face masks, no visors, no screens to protect the employees and no contact and trace. Disgraceful"

"today to say that they were short personal, which was good, waitress explained, we had to go to the bar to order meals themselves, which was absolutely in order again. we have set ourselves and ordered our meals in the bar fast enough. However...no child menu was available, we were told that this was a menu for everyone. every adult meal came apart about mins and a meal was not served, all we thought it was on the way because the great waiting time served between other meals. a meal was absolutely ice cold and it was not possible this was explained to the waiting staff and the meal was taken away without other cakes. as I eat my meal, I discovered a wood shock that was redirected to the waiting staff. the young waiter took the wood from me, examined it, threw it on the floor and told me: “I am not the cook.” about a few minutes later a waitress came to ask, everything was in order and I explained a meal was ice cold, there were wood in mine (which I was not able to show her how the younger waiter threw it away) and another meal did not arrive at all. about a few minutes later the same waitress came back to explain after talking to the cook, the wood was “cold”. my brother in law was with me who is in the did a cook himself and could confirm that this was not ingwer, it was sharp and could scratch the skin. I then asked how the cook would know that it was ingwer if he did not really see the foreign object in my meal!? my man asked the personal if they had baby change facilities they told him they hadn't done it, they explained there was only one disabled toilet on the doorstep. my son had to be moved on the floor in the bathroom. when I later asked where the toilets were to be used for me, I was directed on toilets below that in the did perfectly functioning baby change facilities! the manager wouldn't talk to us and instead he sent his waiting staff to communicate with us. we got a refund for the unsatisfactory meals, but that was far from the standard we expected, I can confirm that I never returned to this restaurant."

"We headed up to Portrush and booked into the Atlantic Hotel. The check in time was 4 pm and although we arrived a little earlier our room was ready. The receptionist was friendly and gave us information about dinner etc but we didn't eat at the hotel in the evening. The hotel was busy. Plenty of families and European and American visitors in Portrush on that weekend. We headed to the Harbour bar for a pint if the best Guinness in the North of Ireland. It was buzzing.. the surf school was out .. the sailing club was out and people were just everywhere enjoying a wee drink and talking. It was just brilliant. There is a fantastic complex of restaurants at the Harbout complex. Something for everyone.. and they don't take bookings its first come first served.. there can be a wait but they don't waste any time and we enjoyed our wSit of 30 mins in the Gin bar of the Harbour bar . There was a young guy playing music and everyone was in such a good relaxing mood. We went up to the kiwi bar on the Main Street for a walk after our food which was amazing. First time in a long time I have had such a good sirloin steak , well priced and cooked to perfection. We returned to the Gin bar later as there was music to late and again we were not disappointed. We had a great notes sleep at the Atlantic and a really good hearty breakfast menu in the morning. Plenty of fruit and cereal.. cooked breakfast was plentiful and warm and the staff were efficient and friendly and cleared the tables and left you plenty of space on the table to eat as much as you wanted. Some people took a yogurt or a croissant for later and this didn't seem any issue. We had a lovely night away.. and headed on round to see the Dark Hedges from Game of Thrones and came home along the coast road. A most relaxing night away and we would definitely do it again and stay longer next time. Good value for money break"
