"Stopped here with my friend for a quick drink but was immediately put off my the over the top safety “measures” in place. Virtually everywhere taped off. A hostile STOP sign at the entrance. A bar shielded in a mass of Perspex, indoor seats and...tables cordoned off. Makes you think there’s something wrong with the place and it health could be at risk. My friend got served and said “she’s not the friendliest”. I was called forward and smiled. “You have to wear a mask” she said. I explained I was exempt. “Where is your lanyard?” she barked. I reminded her she had to right to ask such a question and she asked what I wanted. I asked if they were serving all drinks in a plastic glass. She said yes. I asked why “out of interest”. She said “health and safety”. I asked what this meant. When I visited here a few years ago they certainly served in glasses. “The wind could blow and knock glasses over. Then children could cut themselves”. What a ludicrous response. I was only asking out of curiosity and was about to order my drink when she said “that’s how we do things here”. That was all I needed to hear. Treating customers like dirt is obviously the way they do things too. I informed her I would not be spending my money there and left. What a horrible experience. Doesn’t deserve to be in business. I’d suggest campers take a journey into town and avoid Helga’s charm."

"Me and my family came to have dinner and were shocked by the low standard. The cafe’s aesthetic can best be described as “hospital canteen” and is reminiscent of getting a coffee while waiting for your mum’s test results. Solemn to say the least. When ordering we requested certain veg (red cabbage for example) be removed from the order only to be told that the “chef” at the cafe chooses what goes on the plate in terms of veg and he may or may not adhere to what we asked, I can honestly say I have never heard of that before in my life, maybe if this place was a high-end gourmet restaurant it is to be expected, but it most certainly is not. We were handed filthy glasses and were met to sit on sticky chairs that physically pulled my T-shirt back a little every time I lent forward. The food itself was less than ideal, apart from the meat, which was genuinely very good, the gravy was bland and flavourless, the “roasties” were undercooked and like I said earlier, my plate was covered in red cabbage which I specifically asked for none of. Seems the “chef” not only picks and chooses what veg he puts on your plate, but will load on whatever vegetables you specifically asked to have none of. To wrap, this was thoroughly unpleasant in all aspects apart from the Turkey and the customer service (everyone was quite pleasant), might I recommend a new look, new menu and new cooking staff? Because this may have been one of the least pleasant dining experiences of my life."
