"Me and my family came to have dinner and were shocked by the low standard. The cafe’s aesthetic can best be described as “hospital canteen” and is reminiscent of getting a coffee while waiting for your mum’s test results. Solemn to say the least. When ordering we requested certain veg (red cabbage for example) be removed from the order only to be told that the “chef” at the cafe chooses what goes on the plate in terms of veg and he may or may not adhere to what we asked, I can honestly say I have never heard of that before in my life, maybe if this place was a high-end gourmet restaurant it is to be expected, but it most certainly is not. We were handed filthy glasses and were met to sit on sticky chairs that physically pulled my T-shirt back a little every time I lent forward. The food itself was less than ideal, apart from the meat, which was genuinely very good, the gravy was bland and flavourless, the “roasties” were undercooked and like I said earlier, my plate was covered in red cabbage which I specifically asked for none of. Seems the “chef” not only picks and chooses what veg he puts on your plate, but will load on whatever vegetables you specifically asked to have none of. To wrap, this was thoroughly unpleasant in all aspects apart from the Turkey and the customer service (everyone was quite pleasant), might I recommend a new look, new menu and new cooking staff? Because this may have been one of the least pleasant dining experiences of my life."

I’ve been here several times over the years. I’ve always found the food great and the service pleasant. My kids love it also.

The food at this restaurant was delicious and plentiful, with reasonable prices. The service was also very fast. Overall, everything was great!

We go almost every Sunday. Have done for years. Enjoy the roast dinners but cannot understand why they carve the meat so badly (much too thick). Makes eating it really difficult. Otherwise geat. Service good. Everyone very helpful snd friendly Speisekarte ansehen

Blas Clwyd Cafe offers excellent home cooked food that hits the spot. My wife and I went today, she had the minted lamb hotpot and i Beef Mushroom pie. Both served with chips and peas and a hot drink of your choice for just under a tenner. The food and service was great, and by the look of it we weren’t the only people who appreciate the cafe as the place was busy. Desserts looked nice but we had no room for those.

I called ahead to reserve a table for afternoon tea, and the young lady who answered the phone was very accommodating and friendly. She made sure to ask about any allergies we may have. I believe the same young lady served us on Wednesday afternoon, and she was delightful! She was attentive and pleasant. Our food was delivered without any allergens and was delicious. This is definitely the best afternoon tea in town. We were even given boxes to take home the leftovers, which we are still enjoying. This was our second visit, and we will definitely be returning for a third. Thank you to everyone, especially our waitress. Speisekarte ansehen

It's our 10 year wedding anniversary week. Today my wife wanted to go for afternoon tea. We had heared that a good place was the tweedmill blas clwyd cafe. We heared correctly, absolutely lovely. I had called up prior to our visit to book, just in case. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and sorted us a booking. Nothing was too much to ask from the staff, all so friendly and polite. The lady we mainly dealt with was fantastic, unfortunately I didn't catch her name so can't praise her personally. A bit of constructive criticism, one of the tea cups set on the table wasn't the cleanest, also the cutlery had a lot of water spots, so clearly some polishing required as the cutlery...

We often visit the upstairs coffee area and our recent experience on July 3, 2023 was extremely disappointing. Despite arriving at 12:10 pm with many unoccupied tables, every table was filled with dirty dishes, trays, and tissues. The servers' attitudes were also lacking. We were told our drinks would take 10 to 15 minutes, and when they finally arrived, there were no spoons for the coffees. My wife had to clear and wipe a table herself to sit down, and when she asked for a spoon, she was told none were available. She managed to find a small wooden stirrer instead. The table we sat at overlooked an empty cake display and a dishwashing machine, as well as an overflowing rubbish bin with food...

"Went for afternoon tea with my wife, using an 'experience ' voucher from a well known site, costing £35.99 absolute disaster! The description said 'sit down in the sophisticated dining room and tuck into a section of finger sandwiches, tantalising cakes, pastries, macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam. You won 't want this afternoon to end! ' Trust me, we could not get out of their quick enough and go and find somewhere to get something to eat. The sophisticated dining room was a large, cold room with only a couple of other diners, sticky wooden tables, with no table cloths, just a flimsy paper napkin and a knife and fork. We ordered a coffee and a tea, which came in the smallest teapot, I have ever seen. Later in the meal, when we asked for another drink, we were told that was extra and were charged another £5.70. The food was nothing like as described or pictured on the website. A sad looking selection of sandwiches four quarters each of thin sliced bread one containing a very small piece of processed ham, a second mashed up egg, third was some sort of fish, not sure if it was salmon or tuna; and finally some sort of green leaf with something wet on top it looked like the sandwich had been made days earlier and then sat upon! No pastries or macarons but the two scones with clotted cream and two little pots of jam were OK, however the remaining small cakes were dreadful, none of them were fresh there were two eclairs that were inedible, either the cream or chocolate was off and they were very dry; two little red velvet cakes, which again were dry and horrible; and finally two small pieces of carrot cake that were the least objectionable but again very dry. When we told the waitress the eclairs, she said she would tell the chef but no offer of an alternative. True, it was an unforgettable experience, but not in the way we had expected! We have had afternoon teas in top hotels, pubs, cafes and well known garden centres and nothing came close to being as bad as this meal. Needless to say we will never return and would strongly advise caution if anyone is thinking of going here."
