"I don 't really even know where to start with this review. Walked into the restaurant and it was practically empty... should have known. We were immediately told that the value offer wasn 't on... yet there was a big sign outside promoting the offer?? Alas, as its a Bank Holiday, the value deal is ceased. We ordered 2 kids meals (part of which we didn 't get) and 2 burgers for adults (again, part of which we didn 't get). We ordered the most basic, plain, laugable nachos I have ever seen for a shared starter. The nachos were served with very under ripe tomatoes, melted cheese and sour cream. For over £6, it is RIDICULOUS they are charging this. The kids starters were the size. Plain nachos with a side of tomato!?!?! Our burgers were laughable. I ordered the smothered chicken burger at £13... it was 3 goujons in a bap!!!!! Served with chips.... and no coleslaw as said in the menu. Husband was the same, items missing from his plate. The kids meals had gravy missing from theirs as well. The place was very quiet and yet they still didn 't manage to put the actual food on the menu, on the plate!!!! I should have known it was going to be a tight meal when I ordered mash potato only for the server to check if the kitchen had mash on today The carpet hadn 't been hoovered, tables hadn 't been cleared and staff who had as much life about them as a morgue. £55 down the drain and we will never ever be back. Absolute rip off."

"I had tickets for the evening's entertainment in the ballroom and thought it would be an idea to have supper first to make a night of it. We were straight away led to The Grill and seated by a lovely welcoming member of staff who made sure we had drinks and menus. The variety itself was more than sufficient with something for everyone. We know what we like and like what we want so went for two of the salmon and two of the turkey/ham combo. Our starters were served very quickly and plates cleared as soon as we were finished. My company remarked on the still warm bread rolls complimented on how hot full of flavour the soup was. We opted to have our tea in the ballroom as the seats were filling up and didn't want to be too far back and this was brought through for us by another very pleasant member of staff and we were settled for the show. I loved the food, reasonably priced very tasty and good portions so more than happy with the meal. However what really made this the most pleasant of experiences was the staff. The manager, the floor supervisor and the waiting staff. Full of chat, helpful and very personable. All were quite young maybe holiday relief staff but this didn't come through if that was the case. I wish I'd taken their names although had I done I might have left someone out...This establishment seem to know the value in good staff and I hope they look after them. We will definitely be back and thank you for a lovely evening made all the more special because of how you looked after us, an absolute joy."

"We went here on the recommendation of a friend of the owner. It sounded lovely and we were excited to have a special evening there. As they had an event on that evening, they could only take us at 5:30pm. We arrived on time and were told that the table wasn't ready. We sat in the lounge for 20 minutes beside a loud party who sang and swore solidly the entire time, so were relieved to be shown to the restaurant. We were one of only three tables and yet they sat us in the corner between the two others. The people at the other tables all knew each other, so as well as being beside a toddler, there was lots of conversations happening between the tables, which was also very disruptive. The service was okay, but the courses were then extremely rushed- the waitress took away our starter and immediately brought out our main. The steaks were average, and the veg was fantastic, especially the red cabbage, which was the best I've ever tasted. There was a very small portion of potatoes. The chocolate assiette was very mediocre, except for the mousse, which was lovely. My husband had the orange creme brûlée, which was really tasty. Overall, the food would be about 4 stars, but the experience and hurried service was a generous 2, so I've averaged it out. I did say to the girl at reception, who was very apologetic, but by that point our special occasion was not quite ruined, but was a long way from what we'd hoped for."

"I’ve genuinely thought long hard about this review as I’m an huge advocate for shopping local Romeo’s was my go to. However I’ve let too much slide of late from Romeo’s I’ve now decided to take my business elsewhere. On quite a few occasions the order has been wrong, items left out etc but I was willing to forgive (silly me). However the end was almost inevitable after a large order that was ridiculously late. The delivery driver did apologise I felt there was no point in shouting at them (not their fault) and I wasn’t in a position to follow up as I’d placed the order on behalf of others (it was my treat for visiting family). Hugely embarrassed as I’d bigged up Romeo’s as being best pizza in town. Final nail was when I ordered a kebab in the comments asked for the chips (hoagies) that had been left out of a number of previous orders. (30/4/24) A condescending female member of staff then rang me to explain that this wouldn’t be possible as she couldn’t order the chips off book! When I tried to explain she was having none of it wanted to know why I hadn’t complained previously? I replied that I wasn’t going to necessarily make a fuss over approx 12 chips. Apparently I should have and she informed me that had I done so my order would’ve been prioritised (aye, right) as she wasn’t able to rectify past mistakes. In a nutshell Romeo’s have lost a very (very)good, previously understanding, customer over a dozen chips, 12 bits of fried potatoes… pretty poor customer care."
