"After a busy morning at honeysuckle farm we chose to venture into Hornsea for our lunch. We decided to visit No 10 coffee shop. When we arrived, myself, my husband and our two boys (aged 4, and 1) where shown to a table quickly. This would be the only time any speed was shown in our lunch. Our order was taken, 3 sandwiches and a child’s pasta. If I would have known our lunch would have taken 40 minutes to come I would have taken two hungry toddlers elsewhere. I am not sure what took 40 minutes; as we where served 3 plain sandwiches one with no side salad, one with a premade sandwich filler and the other with hardly any filling. As for the pasta, it had taken a spin round the microwave and was a molten larva mess. The gentleman behind us was served his sandwich with coleslaw, crisps, and a side salad? So not sure why we where not? I think we will stick to packed lunches next time, a half term treat turned into £25 for poor sandwiches and even poorer service."

"Came tonight for dinner with my elderly mum and my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. First time but won't be the last. Very friendly from customers to staff. Food absolutely spot on and the size of the portions was amazing. Certainly can't say you don't get value for money. All freshly cooked and you could tell it was home made. The night was slightly spoilt for us by the noisey group on the table In front of us who really could have more decency to keep their cackling down a bit. None the less, this isn't the fault of the pub and we couldn't fault the service. The customers in the bar even held the door for us as mum went out and wished us a good night. True friendly local pub with fab meals and a mixed grill you wouldn't believe. Thank you. We will return."

"1st time we have visited this pub for a meal and what a pleasant surprise. All the staff were extremely friendly as soon as we walked in. Our waiter Tom was very polite and professional and answered all our questions with no problems. He asked...us what we thought of the food and could even tell us what was in the sauce dish which accompanied the king prawns as we liked it so much. There was also another waiter who was on his first shift and he was doing a brilliant job clearing tables quickly and taking our drinks requests. The food was amazing, all home cooked and arrived in good time so wasn’t waiting ages. The steak pie was lovely and had so much meat in and the children's meals was great value. We will definitely be coming here regularly now for our meals out, was so nice to finally find a local pub with polite and professional staff. Well done "

"Visited with a group of friends on Sunday for Christmas dinner. Food and service were fabulous. There were eight of us in total and all the main meals arrived together piping hot. The turkey was cooked to perfection as were all the trimmings and veggies. I had the Belgian Chocolate truffle for dessert which was divine! Thanks to Kate, Graham and all The Shakey Crew. "First and last experience with hessle tandoori. Ordered over £40 worth of food online with a 45 minute delivery time. Order eventually came 1.5hours later with missing items. Rang to tell them and they said they would get the delivery driver to drop them off. 20 minutes later, still not here. After being told a million times how busy they are (not a paying customers problem) I was told I would get a call back in 5 minutes. Another 15 minutes go by so I call back and get the phone put down on me as soon as I tell them my address. My partner rings and gets told how busy they are another 6,365 times. And that they will give us the missing items for free on our next order (next joke, we will not be ordering again). I tried to explain that a takeaway customer is still a paying customer, just like those in the restaurant and if I was sat in the restaurant I wouldn’t be happy waiting 2 hours and 20 minutes at this point and also wouldn’t be happy to pay for cold food whilst the rest of my order was still MIA 40 minutes after letting them know. Every person we spoke to (about 3 men in total) was all as rude as each other and I can’t believe the money we’ve paid for cold food. Will absolutely NEVER eat here again!"

"So decided to give this place another try.I was there with my teenage grandaughter.She used to love the quiche,but was 2 bits left( approx 1-30 Saturday afternoon The, what would have been lovely steak pie, was totally dried up.While I waited to be served ,saw a Bacon/egg sandwich being made up(should have walked out there and then! 2 bits of sizzling overdone bits of bacon were being put into a bread bun ,which was upside down anyway,one of the slices fell out onto the top of the hot serving dishes,and picked up by hand(no tongs or gloves and plonked onto said bread bun,then an overcooked egg (at least on the bottom was passed through the serving hatch to be added! approx 4-5 butter packets were added to the plate and then taken to a table.I decided to get 2 sausage rolls and a portion of chips between us,and tea for two.just over £10. no cutlery apart from 2 knives and 1 fork. no teaspoons for our tea.Not one table had been cleared so had to move a dirty tray of stuff to another dirty table, before we could eat.Sausage roll ok, chips usual rubbish .Tea was good! although had to stir sugar in with a dessert spoon! would definitely not recommend this place. disgusting."

"Walked in to this little place at approximately 12.30 on the 24th July to treat my little girl to an iced coffee. The waitress with a purple t shirt and a pony tail treated me with blatant rudeness and scorn in comparison to other customers that were being served, even slamming my iced coffee on the table without saying a word, knocking a piece of ice onto my foot and no apology. My daughter who is only 11 exclaimed ‘goodness mum, she was rude; she must be jealous of you!’ I challenged this waitress about her attitude calmly, pulled her to one side and asked her if everything was ok. She said she didn’t think so due to the way ‘I stormed in’. Good grief, we walked in normally! My daughter told her to cease her behaviour which was much in line with a 5 year olds. I’d like to say to this girl whatever you have against me which couldn’t have been anything other than jealousy, it’s not an attractive trait, and treating customers like that will not only cost you your job but will threaten the business as a whole. And I’m pretty certain businesses these days can’t afford to be losing customers. Outraged."

"After being disappointed by another restaurant in town, my friends and I decided to try out The Station last night to see if we could grab a bite to eat. The restaurant was bustling with customers, but we were quickly able to place our orders. "We are an Australian couple 9 weeks into a 12 week European and UK Holiday. Our travels have taken us North of London to Yorkshire where we are staying in superb Air B and B accommodation in a little village called East Cottingwith. The Air B and B owners strongly recommended we visit St Vincent Arms Pub in the nearby village of Sutton Upon Derwent. What an absolute treat we experienced at this delightful Pub this evening. The Pub Restaurant have been owned and operated for 33 years by the same family who must have been doing something extraordinary to survive the challenges of owning a Country Gastronomic Pub for that period of time , particularly in the recent times of Covid. Survive they have in fact thrived would be a more apt description. The service provided by the wonderful staff of Emily, Joe and Scarlett was exemplary, whilst the Owner Chris came by our table to introduce herself and give us a brief history of the establishment. All were fabulous. All of our courses were faultless. My wife's entrée was twice baked Leek Souffle whilst I really enjoyed the Gratin Queenie Scallops. For mains we enjoyed a lovely fillet of sole with vegetables whilst I enjoyed a very hot and tasty Madras curry. As I said, all were faultless. The wine list was also extensive and real credit to the owners for their willingness to provide many options for diners. If you happen to be travelling to Yorkshire you should certainly experience the delights of this Pub, situated in a lovely village to the south east about 8 miles) of the City of York. You will not be disappointed . We were delighted"

"I absolutely adore this restaurant. Although I have never eaten in, I always get takeout and my family members have dined in and enjoyed it. The food is incredibly delicious and authentic. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. On my last visit, which was on New Year's Eve, I picked up my food and it started pouring rain. I had my 2-year-old son with me, and one of the staff members kindly escorted us to our car while holding an umbrella over our heads. This place is our top choice for Thai food. I highly recommend trying the green curry and the massaman curry."

"Came for lunch on Tuesday with some friends and a baby. Food on the whole was good apart from the fish and chips frozen grey horrid but would recommend steak sandwich. The service industry is what it says on the tin !!! If you don’t want to serve people don’t be a waitress or a barmaid!!! If you can’t manage a smile or manners then change careers ! I recommend a dustbin lady or night porter as these both have minimal contact with the public. Arrange your restaurant so that the grumpy staff can get past customers on chairs eating without huffing and puffing !!! Puts a slightly sour taste in the customers mouth when staff are unwelcoming. "My family and I visited this restaurant for Mother's Day, but we were disappointed that the free drink for moms was not offered as advertised. The lamb and beef dishes were so tough that we had trouble cutting through them. Additionally, our meals did not all arrive together, with one member waiting 12 minutes after everyone else. The fish batter was soggy, indicating that the oil may not have been hot enough. The food was barely warm, and when we brought our concerns to the staff, we were offered a free drink only after 15 minutes. There was no offer to replace the food or discount the bill, which we feel should have been provided considering the high price of the meals. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience. While the restaurant seems to be aiming for a high-end atmosphere, the quality of the food is below standard. A fancy decor cannot make up for a poor dining experience. We rate this restaurant 1/10 and would not recommend it to others. We will not be returning."

"Visited Hornsea on a fresh and sunny Saturday in October and we're very excited to have fish and chips in a still working fishing town. This was one of the best fish and chips we've had for a long time and was bonused by the fact that you applied your own salt and vinegar , which I haven't seen in the south for years. This fish was fresh and succulent, cooked to order, so a little bit of a wait, but oh so worth it. There is plenty of outdoor eating tables in the gardens on the opposite side of the road."

"Currently, amidst the Covid-19 situation and following government advice, I thought it would be a while before my next takeaway. However, yesterday morning Trip Advisor informed me that there were open takeaways available. I decided to indulge in the kebab I had been craving for weeks. Despite the challenging times, the lamb doner, chicken kebab, and fries not only satisfied my cravings but surpassed my expectations. The tender lamb strips smothered in sauce and chili in a pita bread (with extra pitas provided upon request), the flavorful BBQ chicken with additional sauce, and the hot, chip spice-covered fries truly made my day. While I understand spicy food may not agree with everyone, I will definitely be returning to this shop for my kebab fix due to the high-quality, reasonably priced food and pleasant customer service – both over the phone and during delivery. Well done, Charcoal Grill! Absolutely fantastic!"

"A beautiful park very well kept clear from rubbish, plenty of bins. Very well used. Beautiful gardens with flowers and trees and plenty of seats. Bowling green with a team, football pitches and a lovely children’s area with things for disabled children. A basket ball...pitch which is well used. Fun run Saturday morning at 9 am then football matches. I walk around the edge with Charlie my dog twice takes about 50 mins, plenty of dogs for him to play with, safe to be off lead. Finish at the charity run cafe, training people back into work. A good menu, home baked cakes, ice cream..lovely coffees and tea. Open 10 till 4 every day, maybe a bit later weekends. Hoping it continues into the winter. A bit of patience needed when busy as they are learning and can be slow and forget things..we all have to learn! The shortcake cookies are to die for! Lots of lovely baking. A very well used cafe, dogs can go inside to the left near the window..plenty of seating outside. They sell plants and tomatoes from their garden centre next to the cafe a couple of days a week, again a learning kerb for people. A good free car park. We use the park at least 7 days a week. Possibly the cafe too much!!"

"Not been to Paull in over 20 years and decided to take a trip down memory lane. We popped into The Humber Tavern for a quick drink, as soon as we walked in the door we were made to feel really welcome. I ordered some chips and I can honestly say these are the best I have had in a long time and the prices are very reasonable.
