"Just been for a Sunday lunch at porky’s with my family. We were 8 people and it was a bit of a disaster start to finish. The service here is normally pretty good but today despite having 7 waiters on for 8 tables it was diabolical. They were very slow to take our order and then announced that they had run out of almost all items on the main menu (no pork, no bbq sauce, no shrimp, no nachos). It took 3 trips to the kitchen by the waitress to establish what was left and we placed our order. 15 mins later they return again to say all the starters we had ordered were out of stock. It was 20 mins before our simple drinks order arrived. Yet more faffing ensued and we eventually got our replacement starters 1hr after arriving. It was then a further 1hr before any mains which trickled out over around 15 mins. In the time we were waiting dozens of takeaway orders were processed and sent out. The staff seemed to have no idea what they were delivering and repeatedly returned to the pass to clarify. The cutlery wasn’t replenished after our starters and no further drinks orders taken despite long empty glasses. The food itself was ok but nothing special. The Yorkshire puddings were so dry they were inedible. They seemed to have been kept in a big batch under the heat lamps and no one seemed to question why everyone in the restaurant was sending theirs back uneaten. The manager was sat in the corner of the restaurant throughout and at no point did he lift a finger to help his struggling staff. When we complained the waitress repeatedly went to talk to the manager who never came to speak to us himself to apologise. We asked for a reduction in the bill and eventually agreed on around 50% being taken off. Overall this was an incredibly frustrating meal that in no way reflected the usually high standard of food or service. The whole experience was worsened by the fact the management appeared to be witnessing the whole thing and just not caring or making any attempt to rescue the situation. Had a booking to go back with a group of friends later this week but will be cancelling and giving this place a wide berth for a while."

"Went for Sunday lunch. My wife and I both have mobility problems and informed them of this at the time of booking. They said that they would make allowance for this. When we arrived we had to go up 3 steps to get to our seat. We were able to do this but they did not ask if we could do this. We were seated and waiting for someone to come take our order when we noticed a sign saying that orders must be placed at the bar. I made my way to the bar and had to negotiate around tables then down the 3 steps, then I had to pass by people in a narrow hall who were carrying their drinks. This was difficult as I cannot walk in a straight line and am unsteady on my feet. When I ordered I asked the barman to bring my drinks to the table which he did willingly. I asked for a lamb and beef and asked whether they would be able to put some of each on our plates. They said we would have to do this ourselves as the chef was too busy. This is also the reason they were not serving food outside. It was a lovely day and they were turning business away as they were too busy to serve food at the outdoor tables. The food was delicious (apart from the mashed potato). The meat was so tender and tasty. When I went to pay I tried to explain to the barman about the difficulties and lack of awareness but he couldn’t spare me a second as he was walking away from me rather than listen. Poor customer service especially to disabled customers. Nobody came to check whether we were enjoying our meal or whether we would like another drink. I also noticed that they cleared tables ready for the next guests and put a high chair in place for a child. They are good at preparing for children but not disabled customers."

"I have used this takeaway for 15 years or more,I also used to work in Indian takeaways for approx 12 years so have a good understanding of what goes into what dish and how they should taste, I also no good Indian food and this place is normally spot on Normally the hottest I would have is a jal Jul or madras, however lately my taste buds have changed and I don’t think I could have madras hot as anything with chilli in has to be a small amount otherwise my nose and eyes stream like a tap. Yogurt sauce is made in restaurants and it usually consists of yoghurt sugar ,turmeric and sometimes mint sauce and a touch of chilli is used.I’ve always used this restaurant as meals are normally delivered quickly, piping hot and never had a complaint, last week I had a Dansak which was far too hot I couldn’t eat it and the special mixed kebab mint sauce was extremely hot ,I though maybe a different persons made it and went overboard with the chilli however he time before that it was too hot too.Tonight my friend and I decided on an Indian meal from Nishas it was ordered at 1947 by 21.02 it still hadn’t arrived so I rang up and they said it was on its way it turned up at 21.25 so an hour and half for delivery to Blaydon .I ordered special mixed kebabs and asked for the mint sauce to be made without chilli as the last twice it had been far too hot,The whole meal was stone cold ,the mint sauce had chilli in but hadn’t been too hot like the last twice so I could handle that, the onion Bhaji that comes with the kebab was soggy and cold, chicken chat was far too salty it was inedible and I normally like a bit salt in my food, the sagaloo was ok but cold the meal with delivery was £23.95 poppadoms were ok but soft in parts .I don’t normally complain but this meal was so bad I had to ring up and tell them and then leave this review as I was more or less being called a liar by the guy that answered the phone.I rang and said first of all I asked for the yoghurt sauce not to have chilli in and said last twice I had it it had chilli in and was far too hot hence I requested none to be put in for this meal,i said chicken chat was too salty the meal was stone cold and we waited 1 and a half hours for it,I wasn’t nasty but the guy that answered the phone wasn’t interested in what I had to say and I felt as though he was calling me a liar ,this meal was for my friend also so both of us couldn’t have been wrong .He said he had took my order and he told chef not to put chilli on mixed kebab and the yoghurt was pre made so couldn’t have been without chilli,he then said he cooked the chicken chat himself and hadn’t used salt,it was unedible so 2 of us couldn’t have got it wrong ,he then said the yogurt sauce has been made that way for the last 23 years I can assure anyone it certanley hasn’t ,I can expect different people to make it different ways and may be heavy handed when adding chilli but no way did this taste like it the past 15 so or more years that I’ve had it from there, not once did this man say sorry you were dissapointed he just made me feel as though I was lying,I wasn’t after a free meal or money off just wanted to complain that I had wasted £23.95 and it all went in the bin as it was too much chilli in when I asked for none to be put in ,the chat was too salty and the whole meal was stone cold as it took an hour and a half to arrive he didn’t believe me on that neither until I told him the time it was ordered and the time it arrived. No apologies just wanted to argue with me ,if he acknowledged my complaint and had apologised but no nothing ,hence he’s just lost a valued customer in fact 2 as my friend also won’t be up going back .whilst leaving the review it asks if tables are disinfected etc ,well it’s a takeaway and hasn’t been a restraunt for a few years.I’ve left the service, value and price reviews on tonight’s meal and service which were very poor"
