"After spending an hour in the restaurant, we finally received our starter, which we decided to share. We ordered haggis bonbons, but there were only three tiny balls, and they were gone in about three minutes because we'd been waiting so long. We then waited nearly another 30 minutes for our mains. When they finally arrived, the presentation was impressive; however, the steak was overly salty—so much so that I couldn’t continue eating it halfway through and had to give up. The onion rings were excellent, but the mac and cheese on the side was quite dry.
We ordered another round of drinks when our main course arrived. I was having French martinis, but when my drink came, I was told they had run out of an ingredient and substituted it without asking for my approval. If I had known, I would have chosen something else. Since we opted for the market menu, we shared a portion of ice cream for dessert, which was delicious.
In total, our bill came to £100, and I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon. The service was very slow, and while the food looked good, I would advise others to be cautious—the saltiness of the meat left me feeling like I had been drinking the sea."
