"The service at this restaurant is excellent, and the food is good. I visited for the first time on a busy Sunday night and would recommend making a reservation or calling ahead. The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Our drinks were quickly served, and our orders were taken promptly. I have never tried Malaysian cuisine before, so the closest comparison I can make is Chinese food. However, the flavors here were better than any Chinese restaurants I have tried in Glasgow. The portions are huge and there is a decent selection of exciting dishes. I highly recommend trying the laksa. I suggest ordering a side of vegetables as some dishes may lack fresh vegetables. The food can be a bit oily, but that doesn't bother me. I particularly enjoyed their fish dishes."

"I don't normally write reviews as I've no idea who reads them really but felt I should after such a lovely meal here this weekend. We were here last week and for my wife, it's the first time she's ventured out for a meal this year. She was a little nervous but the staff were very friendly and professional and put her very much at ease. We have not been to 1 Devs for some time, but after several of our friends as well as a couple business associates mentioned how good the restaurant was, we felt we had to try it, and so pleased we did. The amuses were delightful, full of flavour and my favourite, much to my wife's surprise was the vegetarian one, so delicious I could have had a plate of them on their own. I had the beef brisket for starter which was melt in the mouth delicious and Sally had the langoustine which she said was out of this world. For mains I had turbot and my wife had lamb both cooked to perfection, both wonderfully presented and the flavour combinations were outstanding. I wasn't sure I could manage dessert but we saw the table next to us had ordered an absolutely beautiful banana soufflé and I couldn't resist. It did not disappoint! Wow! My wife had the white chocolate and raspberry dessert and she went as far as to say it was the best dessert she had ever tasted. All in all a fantastic meal with great service. I really do feel this is one of Glasgow's most underrated restaurants. I was at Unalome for a business lunch a couple of weeks prior to this, which was lovely, and is rated as perhaps getting Glasgow's next star. Although nice, the dishes tasted or looked nowhere close to what my wife and I had this weekend at 1 Devs. We had a super evening from start to finish thank you."

"martha's master class. a 5 minute walk from the city center, this mecca is to fresh local products. in the door and the it area is bright and clean with a lot of space. on the back is the counter with the menu cards at the back. the choice is huge and covers everything from porridge to cake. I had suppe and the red drachen pigs. both were full of taste and crispy, although the package was a little dry for my pleasure. this place is a great example of how healthy food does not have to be blanded and tasteless. we look forward to the Edinburgh start. highly recommended."

"So this review covers the two nights in a row that we visited this restaurant whilst visiting Glasgow. So glad to have done a lucky dip using my Google search This restaurant is unique in terms of decor, bells on table to request service and vast menu of excellent food and staff being a variety of nationaloties.... Orders taken on a tablet device. On both visits, service was impeccable, a little slow on second visit as quite busy but nothing intolerable. Very reasonably priced. Parking a little bit of an issue when restaurant as well as surrounding area of units busy On our first visit we had Gol Gappa/Pani Puri and Meat Samosa Chaat as Starters. Mains we went for Aloo Keema with Chapattis and for Dessert we had the house special Kulfi Falooda. Gol Gappas were fresh, crispy and delicious, as were the accompaniments. Samaosa Chat was delicious together as was the samosa itself too. Keema Aloo was freshly cooked, good balance of spice and flavour and the potatoes just made it come together perfectly eating it with the soft and delicious Chapattis cooked on the Tawa. For dessert we had the huge glass filled with Kulfi and Falooda. Very heavy, lots of it but delicious! Definitely not for one person, 3 of us just managed to finish it! On the second visit we decided to go for Puri as starter served with Halwa and Chana. Mains we just went went for the lamb biryani. Bit of a wait, understandable as busy and such a diverse menu. Wow, Puris were freshly made soft greasy deliciousness! Chana was also very good as was the Halwa that we decided to share as Dessert. The Lamb Biryani was ok along with the raita etc with it, we were a little underwhelmed. In fairness, I think it may be something to do with the place we went to ealrier that evening for Tea and seeing posters of the street food style Nalli Biryani wetting our appetites too much! So in conclusion, very impressed with Ambala Restaurant overall. Keep up the good work, food and general high standard. Will definitely visit again when next in Glasgow as such a vast menu and one of the things I definitely want to try is the house special Lamb Shinwari."

"came here to try as recommended by a friend. I expected typical pub foods and had no high expectations, but it wasn't just traditional pub bur. the menu has a section 'steamed buns', which calls the waitress as Asian street food style teller, which is not often found in glasgow. before we examined the damped buns for ourselves, we had to share the chili and calcrups and the black pudding and chorizo as starter. we were happy with these, both were really delicious. as far as the damped rolls are concerned, we have tried the chicken breast and the pig-bunker. these made for a delicious snack, have not yet tried anything like them before and I am glad that I did it! I would recommend ordering two rolls and one side, because you were not quite enough. there is a good choice of both casual and beer, as any good cash should have. the addlestones was still more likely. all in all, a good eating experience with friendly staff."

"First visit since new owners and lockdown over and wasn't impressed, went in with an open mind but the drinks where hot and they seemed shocked when we asked for ice for my wine, you should not have to put ice in bottled beer too,...they looked at us as if we where from outerspace when we stated the drinks where warm, who wants warm drinks with food?there is definitely a communication barrier, we had mussels to start and prawn and chive dim sum, mussels where like rubber, in my opinion frozen the dim sum was lovely then fillet of beef Chinese style and salt and chilli scallops for the main both these dishes where absolutely delicious cooked to perfection but no one asked us if the food was good or if we enjoyed our meal, good food but the staff and the drinks let this place down for me will not be returning not a good vibe or ambience"

"Fairly new Starbucks located on the ground floor within the St Enoch Centre, I think it was a sandwich bar before. They have all the standard Starbucks items and menu mainly concentrating on sandwiches, cakes and biscuits in the food category and the usual range of drinks and shakes in the drinks range. "I had a lovely breakfast Panini here the other week with the mister, as it's conveniently only a few minutes from my house. It was a great start to a Saturday which held a long and tedious bicycle repair in our future! There was just a fantastic selection of fillings and breads. Everything was lovely and fresh, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating when ordering something that didn't exist on the menu. The prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed I loved the radio station selection, if indeed it was radio! For a wee sandwich bar, they are definitely ticking all the boxes, and they also do pastas and other hot foods. If you're ever near the Victoria Infirmary or the Battlefield area in general, this is probably the best place to stop by and refuel."

"So excited to come for my birthday lunch with my sons and partner. Rarely happens as we are all in different places, life is busy. I was so disappointed which is unusual. New menu not great. Not a meat eater and pasta and pizza allergic....Not a great choice of fish. Perhaps supper menu is more appealing. We had a lovely dinner in December. There's always usually something delicious to choose. Lunch menu was really limited for me. We waited for 45 minutes for starters to arrive . We were seated downstairs which was really cold. The front of house and kitchen were stretched as we waited ages . So disappointed . One plate was sent back as it was cold. Not a great experience for my birthday. Quite stressful x ."

"After my first visit to this café, which was a favorite when I lived in Glasgow, I returned with high hopes. The café has undergone a more minimalist makeover since my previous visits, with no board games or retro tea and coffee sets in sight. The service was decent, although a bit slow as there was only one person working and the cook seemed preoccupied with a loud and angry phone call for a good portion of my visit. However, when my omelette finally arrived, it was exceptional. I had ordered a cheese and speck omelette, which turned out to be one of the largest and most perfectly cooked omelettes I've ever seen. Despite the chef's seemingly angry demeanor, he certainly knows how to make a delicious omelette."

"My niece traveled to Glasgow from Basingstoke for her bachelorette party. We had reserved a 'VIP' area at another bar, which was supposed to include 5 drinks, but they were unaware of this and were quite unpleasant and rude about it. Two of the party guests went to Missoula to see if they could reserve a table and the staff there were incredibly accommodating. They saved a table for us and even brought over confetti bombs, sparklers, and a glass of champagne for the bride-to-be as soon as we arrived. The staff at Missoula took great care of us and were very friendly and welcoming. This was my first visit to Missoula since before lockdown, and I was not disappointed. I highly recommend Missoula for anyone planning a bachelorette party."

"We ordered 6 different dishes chosen by this establishment, and I'm sorry to say that utterly appalling was our conclusion. All three of us agreed that it was all practically inedible and disgusting. I was attracted initially by the fact that Nepali dishes were served here including mojo. The momo were inedible along with almost everything else we ordered including the nan bread which was so dried out, it was like cardboard. Obviously not made on site. We are amazed this place has been in business for any length of time. The on Y acceptable food we received out of nearly £40 of different dishes was the pilau rice. Very sad to report this, we has higher expectations. Avoid this place if you like good quality food."

"Go here regularly and the last few times I've been the portions are TINY and really stale like they have been in the fridge for days. My sushi yesterday was so cold I had to wait for it to warm up slightly before eating it as it was FREEZING. Paid £4.50 for a yasai roll and got 3 very very thin bits of sushi. Got an spicy avocado roll wasn't spicy but was SOAKED in sweet chilli sauce. Inari pockets were slimy. My mum got ramen we were both confused as the broth seemed just like hot water with noodles and mushrooms in it so it tasted like nothing. Also why is there no pickled ginger offered anymore? Yes, we are still in a pandemic but customers didn't have to pay extra for it before so why are they being charged a premium for it now? This place has gone downhill big time and wouldn't be surprised if it closes within next few years. Staff were friendly enough but also seemed like they couldn't really be bothered. Fair enough though as all transactions are online now so they are probably making even less tips than they were before."

"4 of us were here last night. Meals were brought out one at a time with several minutes in between and one order did not arrive at all. Girl at the till said we never ordered anything else yet knew what sides had been ordered to go with the apparent non-order. No apology, no discount, no offer of a refund. Just told order would be added on and waved the card machine in our faces. Another order the chicken was rubbery and under cooked. Same girl who claimed to be the manager took the plate away, brought it back saying too much had been eaten to offer a refund and tried to put the plate back on the table. Her attitude was terrible and showed the same disinterest to the table next to us who also had an issue with food being missed off their order. If this girl genuinely is a manager I think you definitely need to work on staff training. Staff should not be shrugging their shoulders completely disinterested when it has been an error on their part and not even offer an apology. The attitude of so called managerial staff in here last night was absolutely abhorrent and we certainly won't be back"

"I came here with 2 girlfriends for dinner and drinks and we left the restaurant disappointed. I grew up in Spain and know enough about Spanish Cuisine to know that the tapas were not great but I would have overlooked this if I would not have felt harassed and under time pressure. My friend, who had booked the restaurant, had not been advised that there is a strict time set per guests/table. We wanted to spend our evening in the restaurant with plenty of food and drinks however after about an hour were told we don 't have much time left. From then I actually noticed how all the other guests, when shown to their table, were immediately told: here are the menus, you have 1h30m at the table ... not very welcoming if you ask me. I understand the restaurant needs to plan for the night and given the small space needs to have more strict times but sorry, that is not enough time for a comfortable dinner. We had wine, cocktails, numerous tapas dishes per head and wanted to enjoy some dessert/coffees, etc. instead our time was up... and you know what, we won 't be coming back. Growing up in Spain, even in very touristy hot spots I have never ever experienced such pressure when enjoying dinner. I worked in restaurants myself during uni and have never seen this before."

"really nice restaurant, friendly and efficient staff and good eating! super comfortable to moxy hotel where we were. I ordered the margarita and the Gnocchi bowl and my man got the double pepperoni pizza. the drink was very strong without being all tequila. the gnocchi were well cooked and the buffalo mozzarella was amazing. the only smallest thing is that I think that the double paprika pizza could come with even more pfefferoni to better match its names, but I don't draw points for it. in any case recommend!"

"Cheese from the pizza had slid off and was on the box. The chips weren’t done right and had to be put in our air fryer for another couple of minutes. Even then, they didn’t taste nice. Didn’t have any of my pizza or chips and had to order from somewhere else. Won’t be ordering from here again. Only good thing was the delivery. Was here really quick. But would have been happy to wait a bit longer, if the food had been made right. My partner said her rice and sauce was “ok” but not great."
