"As is usual for this time of year – time for our annual visit to the Agora on Christmas Eve to enjoy the wonderful fayre this restaurant has to offer. Warmly welcomed on a cold blustery evening and arriving somewhat windswept, we were shown through to our table which was very nicely positioned in the window next to a lovely warm radiator! As is the norm, we ordered a bottle of Cankaya to be followed by starters of Prawn cocktail and Lamb Keftedes. Mains of choice on this occasion were the seabass feta and Adana. Starters suitably delivered they were well presented and nice and hot. My keftedes were smothered in rich tomato sauce were very tasty. Sue’s prawn cocktail was also very good, lots of plump prawns with flavoursome Marie Rose sauce. The bread that was supplied separately was used to good effect to mop up the excess sauce with all dishes left spotless before being returned to the kitchen. A short while later the mains were delivered. The seabass was very good, two fillets stuffed with feta accompanied with potatoes and vegetables. My Adana was also lovely, nice flavoursome kebab on a bed of rice and small side salad. As always both dishes were enjoyed very much with plates left devoid of all that went before. Another very nice meal at The Agora, really lovely friendly hosts with whom we enjoyed chatting very much supported by tasty well presented food that provides a real taste of the Mediterranean. "My son expressed his desire for a restaurant that wasn't too fancy or too casual. It's always a challenge to gather grown-up sons for celebrations when they are spread out, especially when you're unfamiliar with the restaurants in Leeds. After scrolling for hours and exchanging options, we finally settled on Gallery 41, which happened to have a 20% off deal on all food for certain days in November - perfect for N's birthday. After a long journey and a chilly afternoon at Kirkstall Abbey, we were ready to eat, and boy, did we eat well. The olives were a hit with my sons and husband, while the garlic bread was described as some of the best they'd ever had. The Skin Fries were a crowd favorite, so much so that we almost fought over the last ones. The main dishes were equally impressive, with the meat eaters raving about the Spiced Pepperoni and the Vegetarian option wowing my husband. I couldn't resist the Florentina pizza, a personal favorite of mine. Dessert was a hit as well, with everyone indulging in their sweet tooth. The atmosphere at Gallery 41 was perfect for our family gathering - quiet, cozy, and conducive to good conversation. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. I look forward to returning with the rest of my family and indulging in more of Gallery 41's delicious offerings. In the end, it's the simple things like family, good food, and quality time together that truly matter. Thank you, Gallery 41, for a wonderful dining experience."

"We 'd been meaning to go to Crafthouse for a while and finally managed it for a Sunday lunch on a blustery Sunday the offer was very reasonable compared to some prices £25 for 2 courses. We came up in the private elevator from the road a nice touch; but then were left waiting in a corridor for 5 minutes whilst staff rushed around a half full dining room, then taken straight to our seats in the bar side of the restaurant we would have had a view of Boar lane and South Leeds if the blinds across the windows hadn 't;t all been fully down I can appreciate there would have been some glare earlier in the day, but the sun had already set when we arrived and so half our view was of greige. Service was a bit 'by the numbers ' there was a set order they worked in and we wouldn 't be allowed to order food at the same time as a drink even though we were ready. Starters were OK cured salmon was tasty and well presented, though the accompanying slice of brioche looked a little mean and unevenly toasted; the prawn cocktail was very salty prawns with a limp and tired salad and not enough Marie Rose. Mains were where it all fell apart we were offered beef or lamb either well done or pink and both settled on well, as medium was not allowed; Both meats arrived rare, and though tasty were very tough and gristly cuts, with a lot of visible fat around and through the meat. Veg were OK, though didn 't;t feel particularly freshly cooked. With a (very good) rum old fashioned at £18 the total came to £76 including a 12.5% service charge. Ambiance was noisy, with some dance ish music a bit too loud for my tastes perhaps closing the door on the very noisy group in the glassed off 'private ' dining room would have helped. I 'm glad we went, but there are much better options for the price, or less don;t think we 'll return."
