"we decided to join us today! we live on the coast of snettisham norfolk. that took about an hour. a friend should join the diss. he didn't come. the staff was great, the wine-grain merlot was perfect in attempt. fresh water with a really clean glass water jug with ice immediately provided, just like a certain of their flawless service .so beautiful! we had makrele and start the huh and bacon terrarine. we have blown ourselves the perfectly! then the sunday roast pork was delicious zingy with the groomed and the bark meat was perfectly cooked and everything they want to eat from a roast beef! the gray! I could take a bottle of it home. they were busy, well organized, friendly and eating. I would travel an hour for this day when I am rich in a wet windy Sunday, or when they have rooms, (dog friendly) I will see what they are also in this season with the talented chefs that this amazing lunch produces today. we will return and hope to stay with them overnight and have an evening joy! thanksyu everyone:"

"I booked here after searching for dog friendly, gluten free friendly and good food. Focussing on the good stuff, booking confirmed both dogs and GF accommodated. Very friendly on arrival. Very lovely building and interior. The dog friendly area was lovely. On the menu dishes were identified with GFA which meant ‘Gluten Free or Adaptable’ with a good choice. We ordered 3 roast dinners. My GFA beef and Yorkshire pudding arrived without the Yorkshire. After checking it transpires that to meet GFA the Yorkshire pudding was simply removed. No other option. I was told I could have the YP with gluten if I wanted it… When we ordered desserts I checked first confirmed that the GFA fruit fool and crumble was in face just the fruit fool. When we shared our reasonable feedback about the interpretation of GFA, the lady listened but made no comment or acknowledgement. She didn’t actually seem concerned either way although friendly enough. The meals themselves were reasonable, the meat good quality. The gravy was lovely. Overall I thought the food was expensive for a pleasant enough but not fabulous Sunday roast. I would not return as a GF diner. It seems like a small thing but GF adaption being equal to just leaving out parts of the dish that have gluten in them doesn’t feel very welcoming. Do go there for pleasant regular food, a lovely setting, (overall) friendly staff and dog friendly indoor eating. I have marked down on value for money, and for the GFA experience. Take away the GF stuff and it’s 4 stars."

"Wonderful overnight stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Met by friendly receptionist Rachel who gave us a brief overview of the hotel layout whilst her colleague took our bags to the room. The room was a delight. It was a four poster with a good sized living area and an enormous bathroom. Very airy and comfortable. We had afternoon tea and a delicious evening meal in the restaurant. The waiting staff are friendly and professional without being intrusive. The maitre d’ did a wonderful job as she worked both the evening meal and breakfast the next day. Our breakfast was fresh and individually prepared. Plenty of tea and toast. My wife had the vegetarian breakfast and I had possibly the tastiest smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I’ve ever had at breakfast. Well done to everyone, proof that properly trained and motivated locals can do hospitality. At the Beechwood they do it exceptionally well. We really enjoyed our brief stay and will definitely return."

"We had a lovely meal here. Spiced belly pork with a tabbouleh salad and ham egg and chips. Both meals delicious. The crispy hens egg was gorgeous a soft boiled egg with a coating Waiter friendly and obliging. The food is quality over quantity but enough to satisfy, such delicious flavours and value for the type of food served. The meals are cooked to order so don 't expect 'fast food '. The desserts were sundaes of combinations we 'd not come across before and were lovely. Would love to go there again on our next visit to Cromer."

"Had a pretty decent evening meal at Amber Bar Restaurant. They ask you to wear masks when walking around inside, take your temperature before entering, give you your cutlery inside a plastic box so you can take it yourself, and ask you to view the menus on their website via their QR code. The main meals we had were the fish pie (which was a good portion and well filled) and the chicken katsu curry (which was tasty). Desserts were toffee cheesecake (a fairly small portion and tasted a bit gelatine-like), and lemon tart. Service was pretty slow as it took over 30 mins to get our mains but it wasn't too much of a problem as we weren't in a rush."

"For the past 6 years I have been taking my mum who is 88 years this week to this restaurant for lunch for her birthday and it has always been excellent. The service is ideal for a special occasion as it makes you feel special and the food has been superb. We went to the restaurant on Saturday and everything started off well, lovely starter, excellent service and friendly staff. Then we got the main course which was such a disappointment. The beautiful Cod was full of bones. The menu didn't say that the fish was not filleted. The chips were about 3cm square and although they tasted lovely the middle of the chips were uncooked. The mashed peas were very dry. We had to send the meal back because we couldn't eat it. I was very worried that my elderly mother would choke on a bone. When i went to reception to pay I was asked if everything was okay and I explained that the fish was not filleted. The manageress who was also at the reception desk was very snotty and said that all fish has bones and suggested that i order squid in future. I tried to explain that we had fish and chips out often and have never had bones in the fish. She was very dismissive and due to the attitude of this member of staff we would not go to this restaurant again. A simple apology would have been enough for us to return but avoid the fish. It is such a shame as we have always enjoyed our visits to this restaurant. If you decide to visit then beware of the Fish!"

"The food was decent, but the service was a real letdown. We waited two hours for our order, and when they finally got to it, they informed us that they were out of burgers. They didn't ask how we wanted our steak cooked, and we were given a butter knife instead of a steak knife, making it difficult to cut. We also had to wait an additional ten minutes for them to cook the steak properly, and they didn't offer any sauces or even a complimentary drink to compensate for the long wait. It's a shame, as we were just passing through, and we won’t be returning."

"Had lunch here yesterday with my wife and daughter.We had a litle wait to be served, but it was really busy. We were made very welcome and we were promptly served with our drinks. The food when it came was on piping hot plates and it was freshly cooked. The daughter and I had the all day breakfast. The sausages were made at the local butchers and the bacon was lean and very nice. The beans were quality beans not the bulk buy catering ones. There was lashings of toast from locally produced loaves with a plentiful supply of butter. All in all very good. My wife had the chicken and leek pudding. Nice suet pastry with plenty of filling and steaming hot chips. All very good value for money. The waitress was extremely pleasant and helpfull and the chef was very chatty as well."

"A feel good friendly place to eat. My wife and I visited for a coffee and decided to have something to eat. My wife chose crab sandwiches which are caught locally and I decided on a cheese and ham panini as I'm not a fan of crab. My wife offered me a bite of her sandwich and wow I'm a convert of Cromer crab sandwiches. They were amazing and had so much flavour. The owner came out and asked if all was ok. My wife explained that I wasn't a fan of crab until I had a bite of her sandwich. I explained that my experience of crab was as crab sticks when she informed me that actually there is no crab in crab sticks. We will be returning in the next couple of days and I will definitely be having the crab sandwiches. I should say that they do breakfast and many other meals. Well worth a visit and so helpful. Thank you."

"First time visit and it was well worth it... even sitting outside in a chilly 'off the sea ' wind! They do have blankets ......Staff are really welcoming although they were really busy and what a good idea, to have a sign with wait time for food. They have a good menu looking to be all freshly made. I had a delicious crab sandwich and my husband, a scone with jam and cream, with a piece of cake to eat later. If we are in Sheringham again, we will definitely be back....."

"We went for my mum’s birthday meal. The choice of food was excellent. We choose a prawn and avocado salad. It was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Everything was in separate containers so you could customise your salad. It was so fresh, the coleslaw was very tasty. And to add to our wonderful experience the manager sang happy birthday to my mum with some awesome lemon and ginger cake. I can’t recommend them highly enough and I can’t wait to go back! Fantastic find."

"This hidden gem deserves more than 5 stars. We stumbled upon this tearoom turned restaurant after a day of seal-watching and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing decor reminiscent of a 1944 wartime bunker. We decided to have an early dinner and were blown away by the best mixed grill I've ever had, made with locally sourced products, including meat from the farm behind the restaurant. My wife loved her toad in the hole, and we left extremely full. Though we didn't have time for dessert, we couldn't resist taking some of the tempting cakes home. The coffee walnut cake was the best I've ever had. The staff were friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. The only downside is that we live 200 miles away, so it's a bit far for us to visit regularly. "We just ordered a take out. The pumpkin carrot cake was possibly one of the best cakes I’ve ever eaten and certainly was the best carrot cake. The soya latte was also good. Discount if you take your own container. Lots of vegan cakes available including- fruit scones, jammy dodgers, tea cakes, walnut blondes, chocolate chunk brownies and black cherry and vanilla sponge. There was also a sage, onion and chutney vegan roll. The staff were lovely and made a big fuss over our dog and gave her a dog biscuit too. I didn’t look at the rest of the menu so can’t comment on other options. But after a few days in not particularly vegan friendly north Norfolk, Cromer was definitely a much more vegan friendly place!"

"This was our first visit to the pub and we were very impressed with the Sunday carvery. It was £9 and there was an excellent selection of vegetables. The roast potatoes, puddings and stuffing balls were all delicious, definitely the best part. The food was all very fresh and the staff were welcoming/friendly. My only criticism would be that the carvery set up is a little bit awkward; there's not a lot of room to move and it's set up very close to the doorway of the kitchen which means it's really difficult with people constantly wanting to pass by. Also there are only 2 meats on the carvery and I feel it would be better if there was a choice of 3, or if there are going to be only 2, then I think they should have a red meat option beef, pork or gammon) and a white meat option chicken or turkey) rather than 2 red meat options. Also there is no hot water in the toilets but there is a cold water. All in all this was a very good experience and we enjoyed our visit. Will hopefully visit again in the future!"

"Upon our arrival in Holt for the first time, we took a chance on a lunch spot and were pleasantly surprised. Despite arriving towards the end of the lunch rush, we were not rushed and appreciated the opportunity to warm up. The cafe had a steady flow of customers ordering coffee, indicating a loyal customer base. The menu offered a variety of British cafe classics and hearty pub-style dishes. My wife enjoyed the cottage pie with peas, chips, and gravy, while I chose the Steak Kidney pudding with mash and gravy. Both meals were generously portioned and tasted homemade. "We can unreservedly recommend this place. On a Monday lunchtime, on our last day on a break in Norfolk, our two planned hostelries failed to deliver. On our way back to North Walsham, hungry and getting late and puppy in tow, we found The White Horse on Google Maps. And how lucky we were. Everything about this place was great: staff welcome and service, prompt, delicious and well-priced food, facilities and surroundings. "Eaten here before, quite nice. Visited last weekend as my Wife really wanted a cream tea as advertised on the outside. This local place was our choice, as both this, and the chain next door offered cream teas. Told need 24hrs notice for a cream tea???? WTF???? This is passing trade? And what takes the P is what actually takes 24 hours? The Tea? no. The Scones? No, The cake? No, The sausage roll? No. had all of these on the counter...so has to be making a sandwich... your kidding right? You sell rolls and sandwiches... So you want 24 hours notice for sandwiches to be made in the morning and go stale on the side instead of making them fresh. Really quite disappointed. my wife just had the scone and tea."

"I recently dined at this restaurant with some friends for the first time. While my friends were not impressed, I found the food to be enjoyable for a pub in a Norfolk village. The dishes were hot and tasty, and the atmosphere, although a bit dull, was decent. We felt a bit uncomfortable as we seemed to be attracting unwanted attention from a few regulars, possibly due to my friends being a bit loud. I would consider dining here again, or maybe just grabbing a drink, but perhaps without my friends in tow. The bartender mentioned that a major renovation is in the works, so it will be interesting to see the changes. The restroom was well-stocked for customers, which I appreciated. Ample parking is available on site. While it is not a fancy establishment, rather a local pub, I would rate it as good, falling somewhere between average and very good."

"she quay, especially it was a nice curse. alexandra sends us all the necessary instructions to get to the building where clear and easy to read. at the arrival was the place immaculate, warm and relaxing. we found our way into our room that was so spacious with beautiful massive windows filled with natural light. the room itself had a nice comfortable king bed. the bathroom was my favorite big shower, clean and tidy and also has a de-misting mirror that was handy. we had a great sleep and then went down to the breakfast. alexandra was down to make sure that all the guests, where happy they made us a coffee and told us to help us get to breakfast. there was a huge series of tasty and various dinge -10 different types of chalk croissants, pancakes, crumbs, bagels, literally so many options -fruits and yogurt -night hafer -hams and bee the breakfast itself was simply great, so many options could not be omitted! alexandra was a great, so friendly and attentive. we will definitely come back in summer"
