"We popped in for a light lunch on a Friday just before 1pm. 2 out of 3 of the party were after a soft drink, which were both advertised on the board behind the till. Unfortunately, these were both out of stock. One of us ordered a cup of tea and we were shocked to note the price, which was the same as a cup of coffee. No extra hot water was provided until asked and so a very small pot of tea is provided for the price to begin with. During our visit, the tea cup was accidently knocked, resulting in a spillage. The gentleman helped us to it clear up, however we were not offered a new tea cup or saucer and so had to use a saucer full of tea, until the lady noted and gave us paper towels to soak up the split tea on the saucer. We all wanted to order a panini for lunch, but were told these were all sold out by 1pm (on a busy Friday lunchtime). We all opted for toasted sandwiches instead, however we had to wait around 20-25 minutes for 3x toasted sandwiches and unfortunately they were very basic. The bread was just about toasted, the tomato chucks were far to big for the small sandwich, which meant some bread was soggy and the onion slices were huge and unedable as a result. The tuna was also not mixed with any mayo, so with cheese, it was rather dry. The side salad was very basic with no salad dressing and they all came out looking different on the 3x plates. For the price of £9 each, they didn't even come with crisps. We understand the price of everything has increased dramatically and wouldn't mind paying £9, if what was provided was of good quality and on par with what is served elsewhere. At the end of our lunch, we were not asked if everything was OK and I wonder if that was because the waiting staff knew it wasn't?"

"I would love to be able to give them a review but I ordered my food as an ONLINE order the was made at 6.51pm, according to my confirmation email. I had a slight alteration to make, so as instructed in the email. I called within 5 mins of making the order, and was told that it was not a problem. The website stated 50 min wait on delivery, which was fine but after not receiving it after 1.5 hours I called the takeaway. To be told it wasn't in the shop so it must be out for delivery... 5/10 more mins. After 10 mins I called again. To then be told there had been a mistake. The order hadn't gone through to the kitchen and my order wasn't there not because it was on its way to me but because it had never been made!! I told them to forget the order. I put the oven on started cooking , to hear a knock on my door... it was the delivery guy with my food... only 1 hour and 50 mins after I had placed the order... asking me to take the food as it was hot telling me to take a discount and then got quite agitated after I refused as I had already put food in the oven. He was showing me a receipt with the incorrect time on it, telling me I was lying. I showed him the confirmation email I had received, he was still trying to tell me I was lying. I will never use this business again. There are 2 other fantastic Chinese takeaways in the area. Its not like we are stuck with them, luckily."

"Where to start . . . Clues were there tucked away in the bizzare spelling mistakes on the menu but I persevered going for a prawn cocktail starter and the grilled salmon as a main, as those listings were free of the spelling mistakes which put me off the Balognesec Pasta Homemad Cilli. The prawn cocktail starter was ridiculously awful. Four leaves of wilted lettuce with a blob of some sort of redish sauce contained eight tiny cardboard like stale pieces of inedible material. They may well had been potential prawns at some point but these quarter inch offerings were no doubt the cheapest available to the pub but sadly unlike any food offerings I 've previously encountered. I felt awkward having to complain but the delightful girl behind the bar apologised profusely, informing me that they had a new chef and asked if I 'd like an alternative starter. I went for the breaded mushrooms, she promised a few extra to compensate for my dismay. Fair enough. She returned with seven mushrooms and a little paper pot with some not very garlicy maionaise contained. This was at least edible. Then came a plate with a two inch long serving of a leather based piece of something that may have been fish based at some point but had been dried out and shrunk by over enthusiastic grilling, ten dried and wrinkly new potatoes and a spoonful of dried out peas. No sign of the drizzle of garlic butter or the broccoli. For the first time in my life I sent the food back. It was an embarrassment for both myself and the innocent girl behind the bar. So come for a drink but consider your options if you need to eat as the local area is brimming with places that offer better, or at least edible food."

"Appalling!!! Down from Birmingham for birthday weekend and decided to eat here as reviews looked good. On arrival, the waitress told us to firstly order drinks before being seated after asking if we could just sit down to wat as hungry she told us we must pay at bar for the buffet first (never have I paid for food before eating it and I will not make this mistake agsin) we did and sat down. The starter selection was of poor choice, and once seated to eat the food was luke warm. When we went up for the main which I thought would be abit warmer due to curry 's being available the selection of food on offer was again very miminal. I am also vegetarian and apart from 2 mushroom options (I don 't like myshrooms) I decided to raise my issues with the waitress who said I would need to speak to the manager. The manager came to the table and did not appreciate the concerns I raised with him over the food but said he would accommodate me and make something out back. I requested fried rice and vegetable curry, what came to the table was boiled rice that felt like yesterday 's food and a bowl of vegetable curry which I 'm sure was just vegetables taken from the buffet and then added to curry sauce and again was luke warm in temperature. I was so unhappy I raised my concerns with the manager, when asking for a refund his response was 'well you 've been watched going to the buffet several times I absolutely had not, I had a small plate of the luke warm starters and then couldn 't find anything at the mains hence why I originally complained. He told me that he had accommodated me which again he had not again luke warm unfried rice with thrown together curry. And that the tills were locked so would not be issuing a refund but food and drinks were still being paid for. His attitude was so poor. My boyfriend asked if he could just refund my food as this was a birthday meal that had been spoiled (not sure how my boyfriend managed to eat a few platefuls of the food he didn 't want to make a fuss and was just hungry) and the manager was just not having it. I told him poor his customer service skills were and that I would be writing a poor review he told me to simply 'go on then '. The reason I am so passionate about leaving my reviews about this poor place is that later on that night I vomited all of the vegetable curry up (I am early pregnant also) I dread to think what they did to my 'specially made food out the back '. My I add that my boyfriend who managed to eat a few platefuls of food felt fine. I have never complained about anywhere I 've eaten out but this place deserves a special mention and I just hope people do not waste their money here!! I have also contacted food standard agency regarding the matter"

"What a great setting! Overlooking the marina and floor to ceiling glass windows. The restaurant had only a few customers when we arrived. Perhaps we were early but the place was pretty empty. Our waitress seemed to be in training and didn't really make us feel welcome. We ordered appetisers and waited. Our drinks arrived and we began to eat. Having been a regular customer a few years back, at one of the nicest and authentic Italian Bottalinos, in Emersons Green we were beginning to feel that the magic had disappeared and this wasn't authentic italian. My serving of bruschetta looked thrown together, not chef made! Poorly made, over salty, under herby and lacking in the sunshine of Italy. We were not offered extra pepper or parmesan. The next table had to ask for it. The service didn't extend to us. Check back didn't happen. On arrival of the main course it was obvious that the standards of preparation had dropped considerably. My pizza goat was on a thin crust but it was undercooked so unpleasant to eat. The topping was feeble and again without the Italian authenticity expected. The ragu ordered by my husband was bland and brown. As above, no extra parmesan or pepper was offered. No check back was made. I couldn't finish the pizza goat as I wasn't enjoying it. We took it away in a box. It was later binned. We also had difficulty getting the waitress to bring us water. Not sure what was going on. The restaurant wasn't busy. Overall, very disappointing and we won't return there. The prices are for high quality Italian food and we expected a bit of Italian style and atmosphere. So it's very disappointing to see the state of things here."

"Angelina 's in a restaurant at 'Warren Holiday Village ', just outside of Clevedon, in the village of Kenn. There 's ample free parking and the restaurant is large and bright, with plenty of space between the tables. The clientele seemed to be regulars, in the main, and predominantly composed of the senior stratum of society. This meant that moving around, getting one 's food took a little while. It also means that it 's quite a noisy place to eat. To be fair, this is true of the majority of carveries, and everyone was very cheerful. The food is very good there was beef, ham and turkey, all of which were lean, and, I 'm told, tasted great. I 'm vegetarian, so we 'd booked ahead (as one has to) for a nut roast. It was the best nut roast I 've had in my 15 months of vegetarianism, by a fair distance. Really moist and tasty and topped with a circle of goats cheese, which gave a great depth of flavour and a variety of textures. The vegetables were good too ok roast potatoes, good sweet corn, carrots, peas and cabbage. Also cauliflower cheese with leeks, which is a great idea that I 'd never considered. There is a maximum of one Yorkshire pudding per person, which seems pedantic, given that the plates aren 't huge so if you had two, there 'd be no room for veg, but I imagine it 's so they don 't run out. The gentleman carving the meat deserves 'mention in dispatches ' for his friendly manner and immense patience. A lady in front of me was, quite frankly, 'a special flower ' who indicated, by pointing, which precise pieces of meat she 'd like, and then rejected minute portions of them as being below par despite them being perfectly lean and apparently identical to the meat she deemed acceptable. This took about four minutes, and the carver served her with smiling equanimity, gave her a plate and some extra meat for her 'small child who 's not eating but would like to try some ' and sourced the moon on a stick a one hundred mattresses (without a pea) for her to sleep on. OK, I made the last two up, but he was a star and treated her with absolute, unhurried courtesy while I would have cheerfully strangled her with her own intestines. Because it is very much a repeat business venture, it wasn 't easy for us to work out the form as 'first timers '. If you 're considering a visit, here are the things it would have been useful to know in advance:1) As mentioned above, if you 're vegetarian you have to let them know in advance.2) When you queue up to let them know you 've arrived, you should buy tickets for your meal. £10.95 for large, £7.95 for small. I didn 't know to do this, so had to queue twice.3) There is a bar, but it 's not easy to find or I 'm unobservant (equally likely). There 's a door to the left of the food go through that and they 'll sell you booze.4) Again, if you 're vegetarian, you 'll need a tray: the nut roast and veggie gravy boat fill up the plate, so there 's no room for trimmings."
