"Have visited the Quicken Tree many times over the years and have always enjoyed the food and had good service. However, today's visit was a different story. We visited with a couple of friends for Sunday lunch and initially things were fine. We were seated promptly, orders taken and drinks served. Food took a while, but it was a busy Sunday afternoon, so a delay can be expected. Then things went downhill. Food was great, but no one came to ask if all was OK or ask if we wanted any more drinks. Took half an hour after we'd finished for someone to clear the plates. We asked for the desert menu, waited ten minutes but no sign of it. Flagged down another member of staff who brought the menus, who then came back and took our orders for desert and more drinks. Ten minutes later, no sign of any drinks or deserts. Another member of staff came and asked if we wanted anything else. We explained we had already ordered but nothing had arrived. She checked and came back to tell us the order had not gone through, so we said forget it we'll just have the bill. Then the desserts turn up, still no drinks. We explained we were told the order hadn't gone through and did not want them as we had waited too long and had asked for the bill. When the bill came it was for a different table! By this time the restaurant was much quieter with plenty of staff just hanging around doing nothing. Customers shouldn't have to go around trying to get service. Shame, because it ruined a nice afternoon out with friends. Looks like poor management and poor staff training and poor communications. Won't be coming back and won't recommend."

"We book 2 rooms on a friday night for 1night. a double room and a room with king sized bed and a single bed. The Double room was small with shower, dated but very clean. Had towels tiny t.v small table and 2 chairs ok for one night. It said had a balcony which turned out to be a small door/window which went onto a tiny flat roof. No use at all. The family room had king sized bed with single bed. Advertise with towels and soundproofing. The room it's self was huge, again dated but very clean. There was only one hand towel and a bath math in the bathroom and one plastic beaker in the bathroom. (The double room had lots of towels and 2 plastic beakers in bathroom). Had a table and 2 chairs. My daughter went to sit on a chair in the room and the legs started to go backwards. Which I reported to the cleaner in the morning and was told she had reported it before! We ate at the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Friendly staff. OUR PROBLEMS BEGAIN WHEN WE WENT TO OUR ROOM TO SLEEP. We went to ours rooms around 8pm. Well extremely loud music from the bar below started. In room 6 the floor was vibrating you couldn't here the tv. Room 3 was also extremely loud couldn't hear the tv. The music continued till 11pm. Then we had singing and loud chatter till 12.05am. So we were kept awake all evening. Rooms were Advertised as sound proofing. Complete joke. So much for a relaxing evening! At no point were we told loud music would be blaring all evening. If we had known we wouldn't have stayed there. Very disappointing."

"Used to love this place. Until tonight. Food was good. However we ordered our usual plus couple extra bits as the kids were having a takeaway with us tonight. They told me it was 51.70 over the phone. I thought this was a bit high for what we ordered. But then the prices are high everywhere. Food arrived just under an hour, which is good. But they had forgotten the spare ribs. I called them up and they proceeded to tell me I hadn't ordered any. I did and they even read the order back to me. They said they would get someone to bring them out but I would need to pay extra on top of the 51.70 I had already paid. I decided to check the menu and pricing. Well it seems either they have put their prices right up or their menus are completely out of date, as when I totalled up the food we had, plus the spare ribs it came to 46.60, 5.10 difference to what they charged me. And yet they wanted me to pay even more. The manager himself delivered the spare ribs. I advised him of the above. He decided to call the shop and proceed to speak to her in their native tongue. Whilst this was happening my food and the additional ribs were going cold. Advised I'm not paying any extra as there is no way we had almost 60.00 worth of food and that we won't be using them again. Please check the prices before you order as they were trying to charge me almost 11.00 more than what their menus state."
