"zizzi in Tombland has a great outdoors area for a summer evening. The food was ok although my vegan rainbow lasagna could have been hotter. Our server was one of the best we’ve ever had. Inside seemed cold and very noisy with a large hen party in process, not ideal for everyone else."

"Firstly the 2 star EHO sticker in the window is somewhat concerning, however the fact on the EHO website it is marked with a 1 star is confusing! The food is consistently inconsistent. Some visits is OK others not. Generally the restaurant and toilets need some attention to detail regarding cleanliness and the staff although polite, struggle to communicate effectively. Its a shame really as Newtown struggles for decent restaurants. I would need to see at least 3 stars for me to visit again."

"Popped in because Mum wanted coffee in the sunshine and ended up staying for dinner. The pub is light and airy, with good selections of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The menu is varied with a mix of classics and more modern dishes, beautifully prepared and presented by a friendly and helpful staff. The garden is marvelous with a long stretch of lawn amid tall trees, and a small play area with a climbing frame. I would most heartily recommend it, and intend to return many times in the future."

"The food at Shiki is delicious and the service is excellent. They offer a diverse izakaya style menu with a wide range of drinks. The dishes are authentic Japanese with a unique twist. I tried several small plates and they were all delicious and beautifully presented. "Sushi Lovers" is a great deal for sushi enthusiasts. The daily specials may be a bit pricier, but they are definitely worth it. The sake selection is small but high quality and reasonably priced. I enjoyed a hot Nambu Bijin on a chilly day. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the chef even came out to check on us. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Shiki and I would definitely be a regular customer if I lived in Norwich."

"It was disappointing to have booked a table at 5.30 to be told when I arrived with two grandchildren to have tea before a visit to the theatre royal that can I order quickly as the chef was closing at 5.45! I questioned why they took a booking at 5.30 if chef was finishing at 5.45. Waitress was nice and said no need to hurry after. The cleaning bucket was near us which was being used which wasn’t very nice. And although she said not to rush I was aware that We were the only ones there so felt a bit hurried and didn’t feel comfortable ordering a desert. Milk shakes were lush. Food was nice. Waitress was very nice also. My fault I guess, should have looked at what time they closed."

"Wir vier hatten ein angenehmes Essen, der Service war ziemlich gut, wir mussten nur um ein paar Dinge bitten. Ich persönlich hatte das Hauptgericht mit Wolfsbarsch, das ich für eine kleine Portion und nicht sehr gut gewürzt hielt. Die Kartoffel, über der es serviert wurde, war langweilig. Um fair zu sein, haben wir alle schon einmal hier gegessen und hatten besseres erwartet. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob die Portionen aufgrund des Eat-Out-Schemas reduziert wurden. "I recently visited Namaste India for their long-awaited reopening weekend. The dining experience was fantastic. I typically don't frequent vegan/vegetarian restaurants, but the flavors of the dishes were so delicious that I didn't miss having meat at all. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. "I went with a group of people last night and we were waiting nearly minutes for our drinks to arrive, Then finally ordered our food and they took over an hour with that then they served us half cooked prawns which we did not realise until i ate one and had a funny taste in my mouth so we checked the others and they were part cooked and part raw which is abissmal i told them to take them away then they offered to cook more i said i do not want any more food from you as i didn't feel well then and hour later when everyone finished there main course the waiter who seemed non existent finally arrived to take pudding orders and tried offering me it when i told him i didn't feel well was ridiculous and that i wished to speak to the manager he arrived minutes later and tried telling me that the prawns were cooked so i told him to go get them and we can check again even after the waiter admitted they were not cooked and my whole cooked see they were not then he asked what he could do to help with the issue so i told him to remove all my food off the bill which he said he did but when it came to pay he had not taken anything off and even tried charging for a free bread dish which i asked for to try and settle my stomach so i spoke to the rude manager again to remove it all he then added a service charge and tried billing us for things we didn't have so they ruined my first night out in a month and made me very ill and just didn't care the service was the worst i have ever seen and i eat out rather a lot due to hours i work so to all members of the public do not go eat there unless you wish to be very ill and have a condescending manager try telling you that your wrong."

"The food is good, standard-issue Pret fare and if that alone were being reviewed, this branch would scare a solid three-to-four stars. The problem is that kids from the nearby Isaac Newton sixth form college swoop in packs at lunchtimes, take over the space, nick all the spare chairs, spread out their laptops and linger for ages with a single coffee or juice per table while chewing through food they 've brought in from Greggs or McDonalds. I 've been caught out a few times and it 's extremely annoying to pay eating in rates and then find there is nowhere to sit. The loos are pretty grotty, too, which may not be unrelated to the issue above. I appreciate it might be a difficult issue for staff to resolve but this branch has to decide whether its a community hub or catering for customers who 've actually parted with more than a couple of quid."

"Food was great, cocktails where delicious and 2for(same)1, decor was nice, clean and comfortable. Out sides plastic chairs where nice to sit in but we moved inside due to wasps wanting our drinks. Top tip, don't sit I the window in summer unless you like Dining in a greenhouse. Both waiting staff we interacted with where friendly, attentive and chatty. Manager on shift seemed pleasant as well. You get offered a veggie or gluten free menu as you are seated which was nice for my partner. Only downside was the olives were not pitted so you have to remove the stones from your mouth, that's always great for other people to watch you do while they eat . Very good veggie menu options with lots to choose from. I fully recommend the tapas menu. Bread board, olives, 5 tapas, two sides, one dessert and 8 cocktails was more than enough between us, came to about 95 before the tip."

"I can't blame much about the place. service is friendly and eating is really delicious. I love the refillable fizzy drinks and there is also a good selection for all nutritional requirements or restrictions. eating came pretty fast, and it was all hot. but the one thing that always stings is the price. to pay for a burger over £12 that, although delicious, a burger is always a fight. they make a very generous discount for students, but apart from that, unfortunately, I cannot see myself coming back to the full price. tasty food, but maybe something too expensive :"

"We had made a reservation but we were left queueing outside in the rain with no apologies or explanations as to why our table wasn 't ready. We were eventually shown to our table some 10 minutes after our reservation time. They were clearly VERY understaffed as there were empty tables everywhere which hadn 't been cleared and reset. The staff member who took our order was very polite if a little 'heavy handed ' when slamming the drinks and glasses down on the table when she brought them to us. The food was very tasty and arrived fairly promptly. We also took advantage of a 20% discount off of our total bill which had been emailed to me a few days prior. Overall good food but poor service which was disappointing.. Not sure if I 'd return."

"The food at this restaurant was fantastic! The Fish Tower was visually stunning and the freshly made pizza was delicious. The setting was lovely and the service was friendly. We will definitely be returning next time we are in town. The average price per person is between £20-30. Overall, the food received a rating of 5, service a 4, and atmosphere a 4. We highly recommend trying the Seafood Platter and Pizza, as you can customize your own dish from a list of options."

"we have used all bar one as a meeting point for meals. we all had a few drinks in there, but sad to say the old man in me found it loud, much louder than it had to be. we tried to chat, but it seems that the music was just louder than the lights were dimmed. overall a great place to meet, but if you want to chat, just too loud. back to the positive but friendly staff, good choice of beer, beer served beautiful and cold, welcome friendly and warm."

"On arrival fought to get someone's attention to let them know that we booked a table. At some point someone asked and sat, took some menus. Ordinary drinks that were taken forever, then they wandered around and looked for them to give them! Eating also took a while, there were plenty of staff, but none of them seemed to know what they did. There were tables that had left the people and were not quickly deleted, quite openly it was a shame. In the end we are told to pay at the bar, went to the bar to be told to go the other end. Waiting for the guy who was not very friendly, very disappointing in fact, as the food itself was good and the place is very nice, but not sure that we are back or in a hurry to recommend it that is a shame."

"We came here on a Sunday night, earlier than booked, very busy but the person at the front entrance who was very helpful, moved table's around and one cleaned for us. We were told it may be a delay for food as serving a table...of Drinks and food order taken quickly. The food arrived about the time we had booked for. Service efficient and friendly considering every table seated. Food as expected pizzas, salmon, and pasta dishes were all tasty and looked good. Various desserts order all good. Pity the choice small if you don't like chocolate or caramel. All very sweet. See photos."

"The Georgian Townhouse is normally a lovely location for a bite to eat, we have been many times and usually always very satisfied. As tradition my partner and I go here every Valentines Day, it’s always just the right atmosphere with candles etc but not over the top. Food always is lovely, however our most recent experience we left feeling really dissatisfied. We opted for the set menu as it felt appropriate for our date evening. I had the ravioli starter which was delicious and felt very fresh. My partner chose the scallop starter, to which he was presented 1 singular scallop with its accompaniments but it was no bigger than a 10 pence piece. To us it felt a little stingy. Following onto mains, we noticed after a little wait that our food had been taken to the table beside us, they happened to have ordered exactly the same as us, the confusion between staff was clear but we weren’t bothered by that. My partner had the tagliatelle which he was satisfied with, but it didn’t seem to be up to the normal standard of food GTH offer. I chose the upgrade to the plaice which is where it went wrong. If a fish is to be served head and all, a small disclaimer on the menu should be highlighted as for some people they may not enjoy this. I did not enjoy this, with the eye removed but the head still very much intact I scraped away at the bones for a couple mouthfuls of fish. Arguably I should have asked when ordering, that’s a lesson I will learn for next time. The food just didn’t quite hit the mark unfortunately for us. The staff were kind, but evidently new. I’d like to reiterate we are normally big fans of the GTH but this visit left us a little disappointed and having pudding at home instead…"

"I booked this restaurant having wanted to try it for a couple of years and never getting around to it, and then after I booked it I read a couple of recent reviews and thought oops! But, hey ho I thought, I'll give it a whirl! I am so glad we did, I wonder if the reviews on here went to a different restaurant as I found all the staff very friendly and they couldn't do enough for us. The interior is very different and you certainly don't feel like you are in Norwich! Starters: We had two helpings of mushrooms and one of garlic bread to start piping hot and beautiful flavours, very nice mushrooms. Mains: Chef's special penne the beef was tender and everything went together so well and nicely balanced. Spaghetti carbonara for the youngest member of the family, which she enjoyed and wants us to do something like it! Pollo alla crema done very nicely and whilst that youngest person liked their carbonara, I think next time she is having this. We didn't have room for a dessert, but I did enjoy the Ichnusa, a couple of them went down a treat. Once tried you'll be hooked. Anyway, I highly recommend this little gem in Norwich and I want to say a big thank you to all the staff for looking after us that night, we will be back for more and trying something different. I believe it was the owner in there as well who spoke to us as we left, but we were chuffed that we ignored any bad reviews about this place, as either they went somewhere else, or had another reason for putting a dodgy review,"
