"With a superb location on the south side of the River Wensum and Fye Bridge we probably didn’t see this one at its best as our visit coincided with the prime after work drinking hours on a Friday evening when the place was rammed and packed to bursting and it was standing room only and somehow we kept getting in the way of staff trying to deliver food. It’s not the biggest of spaces, and especially not when the outdoor riverside seating and the advertised jetty are closed off, as they were for our visit for reasons the harassed food staff couldn’t completely explain to us. So not the most comfortable of our drinking experiences around Norwich on this day, but still a good one as far as the actual drink went. Some decent premium and craft keg options were available from the bar that also supports around ten hand pumps from what I could make out. For our visit Neptune Brewery’s AGWE, Vocation’s Naughty Nice Salted Caramel Stout, Arbor’s Shangri-La, Nene Valley Brewery’s Bitter, Oakham Citra and Three Blind Mice Brewery’s Guns, Nuns Cowboys were on with one hand pump unused and another reverse clipped. So a very good range of different styles and strength options and the couple I tried were in good condition. I was also impressed with the bar staff team who were very friendly and efficient, especially considering how busy it was. I will have to try and return to this one at a quieter time when I am back in this fine ale city."

"Customers are directed to a digital "allergy matrix" for ingredient inquiries, but many items are not included in this matrix. Even the details it offers are inadequate, as not every ingredient is listed, and allergy information for the few available dishes is lacking. When I inquired about the ingredients of a dish, the waitress insisted I check the matrix again—which didn’t even list it. After asking the kitchen, she returned to say they refused to disclose the full ingredients for that dish, only confirming one problematic ingredient. After waiting in disappointment and feeling embarrassed for a long time, someone, who might have been the manager, approached us. He insisted that I order the steak (the priciest item on the menu) or I would have nothing at all, and he visibly showed frustration when I declined, as I don’t eat steak at all. Although he allowed us to have our drinks for free, that didn’t come close to compensating for the awful treatment and disappointing experience we had. This restaurant does not deserve a reputation as a safe place for anyone with allergies, coeliac disease, or digestive issues. The lack of planning and consideration for their menu and inventory is astonishing. It’s appalling that the chefs prioritize their secret recipes over informing customers about allergens. This is not a safe or accommodating place to dine. Overall, it was a humiliating and disheartening experience."

"At six and three quarters, being the oldest person in the room affords a certain air of esteem. One can look down on one’s peers with lofty arrogance informed by world-weary experience. *Tch* and *tut*, my little rugrat friends, what little you know of the world! Kathryn White asked me to sit next to her in assembly yesterday, and I said, like, no way lady! Dude, I’m a P-L-A-Y-A, and ain’t no crazy ho gonna cramp my style – HELL NO!At thirty-three (minus one day), the same does not hold true. First of all, sitting next to Kathryn White does *not* mean I’m going to marry her. Second, propping up the bar at the Mustard Lounge, I fear I may well be old enough to have fathered some of the punters. Third, it’s way past my bedtime.Come the morning, I am not feeling sprightly. By the grace of God, however, I’m not hungover, as such, and can at least mooch into town without too much ado.I’ve been meaning to eat at The Library for a while, but have never managed to arrive in time for lunch. Today, however, I can sit there, warm and fuzzy with smugness, if a little woozy from sleep deprivation and the really high ceiling. The fish options look good, but for reasons self-evident to anyone but vegetarians and teetotallers, the curative properties of the lah-di-dah fry-up seem more appropriate. We both order the hand-cut chips, thick-cut bacon and fried egg: it is triumphant, standing us in good stead for another night of acting half our age.The combination of book-lined shelves and purple décor make the place an ideal location for nerdy goths. Nerdy nerds, however, will despair at the filing of said books, which have been lined up with wanton disregard for any established classification system, happily marrying Bruce Lee with crochet and motor racing with Middlemarch.Such irregularity was echoed in the friendly, if erratic service, and the disappointing dessert. The espresso mousse was relatively feeble, with texture like bread in a swimming pool and a flavour more in line with Revels than tiramisu; frankly, I was more excited by my subsequent trip to the toilet. This not to damn the dish unfairly, however, as The Library’s exquisite toilets are perfect for restroom aficionados, and are surely shortlisted among the finest in Norwich."

"I went with a group of people last night and we were waiting nearly minutes for our drinks to arrive, Then finally ordered our food and they took over an hour with that then they served us half cooked prawns which we did not realise until i ate one and had a funny taste in my mouth so we checked the others and they were part cooked and part raw which is abissmal i told them to take them away then they offered to cook more i said i do not want any more food from you as i didn't feel well then and hour later when everyone finished there main course the waiter who seemed non existent finally arrived to take pudding orders and tried offering me it when i told him i didn't feel well was ridiculous and that i wished to speak to the manager he arrived minutes later and tried telling me that the prawns were cooked so i told him to go get them and we can check again even after the waiter admitted they were not cooked and my whole cooked see they were not then he asked what he could do to help with the issue so i told him to remove all my food off the bill which he said he did but when it came to pay he had not taken anything off and even tried charging for a free bread dish which i asked for to try and settle my stomach so i spoke to the rude manager again to remove it all he then added a service charge and tried billing us for things we didn't have so they ruined my first night out in a month and made me very ill and just didn't care the service was the worst i have ever seen and i eat out rather a lot due to hours i work so to all members of the public do not go eat there unless you wish to be very ill and have a condescending manager try telling you that your wrong."

"I decided to surprise my daughter and take her for a deluxe spa break . We couldn’t fault the afternoon tea and massages at the spa these were brilliant . We were very excited about our evening meal but left feeling very deflated . On arrival no staff told us what we could have with our package, we received the wrong drinks menu. After around 20 minutes someone finally came over and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered and asked for tap water too . One of the drinks arrived but the water and other one never did so we had to find a young bar man who was rushing about and ask him . He was lovely and went and got them for us . After a long time of waiting bread and something in a little pot was plonked on our table , no explanation what it was , we thought we had got someone else’s starter . Finally we ordered our starters it was lovely but no spoon for my daughters soup so again we had to search for staff , plates took absolutely ages to be collected, mains came finally after 1.5 hours. It was lovely but the atmosphere was bad as other customers were getting fed up of waiting too. Finally got dessert and after we finished we sat patiently waiting for our plates to be taken and bill given ,as a lot on the menu which we liked you had to pay extra for .I thought this was ridiculous thinking back how much this break had cost me . After staff walking past us and ignoring us and the empty plates I had had enough and went to find someone to put it on our room bill . This experience was not the lovely bday treat I had expected for my daughters 21st disappointing is an understatement!!!"
