"We spent the day in Padstow in August against my wishes as I've never taken to the place as it doesn't have the clarm of a typical seaside town but is crowded with expensive shops and restaurants. We were effectively forced into the place as everywhere else was crammed (as they usually are) and an alarm bell should have gone off as the place was only half full. I even joked that there must be something wrong with it as we could find a seat. It looks ok inside but the menu looked a bit on the expensive side so I ordered the cheapest main course which was a Cornish pasty and salad at and since I’ve had these before elsewhere and been happy with them I thought nothing of it.When it came I was pretty shocked as all I got was something resembling a Small Ginsters, browning lettuce and a soft tomato. At first I thought I’d been sent a starter by mistake but my partner gestured to the table to my left where the poor bloke had ordered a ploughmans and ended up with what looked like the contents of those awful Boots sandwiches. We made eye contact and words were not necessary as he saw my plate. The kids got a decent plate of chips as we objected to paying more but the jacket potato that the missus ordered wasn’t great either. There was at least one other person that I saw that looked upset with their lot before we left.Having read the other reviews it is obvious that out visit wasn’t a one-off and that worries me as the owner is either deluding him/herself into thinking that their place offers a really good product or they are assuming that there will be enough people that will only ever visit once to make the place pay irrespective of reputation.Either way, if you’re the owner, shame on you"

"I eat regularly at JoJo's Kitchen as a local who works in Padstow its very handy. I find the owner and the staff to be polite, friendly and incredibly helpful. I think the pricing is very good for the quantity that I've always received. I like the fact that they buy their bread from the local Padstow bakery-the Chough- nice to see local businesses supporting each other and have always found the granary bread, panini's and baguettes to be fresh and satisfyingly full to the brim with the many options that are available. The brie, cajun chicken paninis are to die for. I had a salad box for the first time after hearing positive responses from other colleagues who had tried them and was pleased to have so many options. I had the prawn salad box and was pleased to be able to choose what salad items to include in the box. I had a healthy amount of prawns and they too were fresh and delicious, opted for the rose marie sauce which has to be done when having sea food and it all complimented my salad options well. I don't know why I hadn't tried one before. I'm also really fond of the made to order milkshakes, the salted caramel and biscoff ones are delicious, the regular is more than sufficient in size and I like that you get little treats in them like the sauce, the cream and the sprinkles etc. The orders are always made from scratch which I like and I like that you can see the food being put together while you wait. They're dealing with covid extremely well, as its a small area they've had to take away the option to allow people entry to order inside but that's not an issue at all, you can see everything clearly from the doorway where a friendly face will be there to greet you. In such uncertain times and with Padstow being so busy of late [which is a good thing for the tourism trade] its nice to see a small business trying to make a positive out a negative and do what they can to keep their business afloat and to provide a great food service to locals and visitors alike. A great place to eat and one I will continue to frequent as regularly as I can."
