"While waiting for a train I have in the past had lunch in ‘Le Train Blue’ but I find it has lost most of it’s charm in recent years and has become way to expensive. A much better idea is to venture out of the...station to this place. It doesn’t look much from the outside, no bright lights or shiny brass but once inside you are ushered to a comfortable table, given menus, asked if you would like an aperitif etc., ie all the good service that is required for the beginning of a pleasant lunch it puts you into a good frame of mind and inspires confidence. The food is fairly standard brasserie, with some specials and plats de jour, all served rapidly and efficiently. Good, perfectly cooked entrecôte steak and delicious fries €22,80), Cantal cheese burger and fries €18,50), tasty desserts less than €10 all make for a reasonably priced lunch. Wine list was tiny but we had a good bottle of Gigondas for €36,00, and a glass of surprisingly pleasant white Gaillac at €5,10. Coffee only €2,60. Excellent service from a friendly and engaging waitress. I prefer this place to the Européenne two doors down."
