"What a shame that, reading back through TA reviews, one member of staff is immediately identifiable due to consistently poor reviews. Why is this person employed in hospitality when there is nothing remotely hospitable about her? Her specialty seems to be being rude to customers and doing as little work as possible, entertaining the local drinkers and allowing her colleagues to carry her. Like others, our visit was also accompanied by eye rolling, slapping cutlery on the table, and please do not have the temerity to give negative feedback about the food! One meal out of four, the mussels, were cold. I suggested that this may be due to the soup plate they were served on, which had a wide rim on which the majority of the mussels were placed, rather than in the sauce. This clearly totally upset the person who I had taken to be the manager but who described herself as 'just bar staff '. We were told that we had been trouble since we arrived 3 over 65 's and an 80+ year old in a mobility scooter. If she thinks we 're trouble, she needs to work in London on a Saturday night!! The way in which we caused trouble was by asking for mash with the steak pie but making no fuss when this wasn 't available, asking for a spoon for the mussels, and pointing out that a meal was cold. As the place was practically empty (understandably!! we had moved the chairs ourselves to make room for the mobility scooter. We were also told that they never get complaints. Really?? Do they read their TA reviews? In June 2023 someone else made the same complaint about the mussels, so this problem could have been resolved months ago. This particular member of staff has numerous complaints about her poor attitude. I can only assume that this business owner would be happy for their business to fail, because if this were my enterprise, this staff member would be out of the door! Will we go back? No chance! There are far better places to eat, both in quality of food and most definitely in quality of service. And no, we 're not tourists as our family has lived in Tenby for 50+ years (full time, not second home owners , about as long as this 'bar staff ' has been alive. Just a reminder it 's the tourists who keep you going, and if they are not welcome, put up a sign to that effect so they can take their money elsewhere! We were actually there for a meal following our mothers funeral, so no thanks to this harridan for making this a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. There are two nice members of staff a young man who we have encountered before and is very pleasant and offered to move the chairs, and a new part time waitress called Darcy who tried to smooth things over. However, no matter how nice they are, we won 't be coming back."

"Absolutely appalled at the service received, on a girls trip away this was the one evening we had planned to go out, originally to the billycan but was fully booked and we stumbled across this restaurant near the castle walls and thought it looked okay. My friend who has been vegetarian for years ordered the vegetarian lasagna and myself and other friends ordered the burgers, 2 with no onions 1 without cheese…the only order that was correct was the burger with no cheese. My friend who is the vegetarian had a mouthful of food and on her second mouthful had to stop, started inspecting the food and saw it was a meat lasagna! She took her order up to the bar to question if it was possibly a Quorn lasagna to be told no they don’t do Quorn it must be a meat lasagna, this has made my friend instantly feel unwell and she had to go throw up and got extremely upset by this. My friend went to bar and asked the staff to check they had put vegetarian lasagna on the order and they proved they had so it was a mistake by the chef/s and the excuse we was given was they were short staffed and busy…not impressed. They then said we’ll plate her up a vegetarian lasagna now and we said don’t bother no way she will want to eat now and asked for a refund. Ruined my friend’s evening and the staff just didn’t care, now imagine the same excuse if they had given someone with an allergy that same excuse, not good enough the burgers weren’t the best."

"I wouldn 't usually write a bad review but we visited here at the weekend and felt as though feedback needed to be given. The food was lovely and didn 't take long to come out. Although I can 't fault the food, the service was appalling. However, this is not aimed at our server Shannon, who was really trying her best and was so very friendly. She was rushing around and seemed to be the only one who was working that evening. She was incredibly apologetic to us regarding the wait on service. We were waiting a very long time to have plates cleared and to have our dessert orders taken. Due to the long waits we experienced, we had just finished our desserts and only then did we receive our last round of drinks. I went straight to the bar and paid Ella but when asked, she stated she was unable to provide me with a print out of the bill, nor did she ask how the meal was. This wasn 't really an issue, but we were unable to verify if we had been charged correctly. 5 minutes later she came to our table and asked us twice if we needed anything else, to which we said no , both times. She then stated could we wrap it up and sort the bill which I had done no less than 5 minutes prior with her. We had not seen this server all evening and at no point did she apologize for the wait or the fact she was telling us to leave as they obviously needed the table (although I am assuming that 's why as she didn 't explain this to us). Baring in mind we had only just finished our drinks, which were ordered at the same time as dessert, yet we received them after we 'd finished eating. We were a table of 6 and had booked weeks prior to this to celebrate my Daughter 's birthday. We all felt it was very rude how we were told to wrap it up considering the amount we had spent in the restaurant not to mention how long we had been waiting for service, hence the reason we were still there! After she had said this and walked away we got up to leave, at which point a group of people came in and sat on our dirty table before we were even out the door. The restaurant was very busy as it was a Saturday night in June and it was severely understaffed. We are locals and have been here several times before with no issues but due to the rude comments made by this one staff member it has left us with a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be returning again."

"Fine dining not at its best, most definitely promoting itself well above the capability of the front of house staff, the chef and their team, The Plantagenet House is a pretentious, self absorbed low light in the thriving culinary offering of Tenby which is obviously living on past glories and owners. We visited The Plantagenet House on Saturday 10th August to make a dinner booking for Monday 12th August for our wedding anniversary, and should have known that there would be issues as the person taking our booking was sternly advised by another staff member that the diary could only be completed in pencil and not pen, which put her in a panic as she was unable to find one, why, is this a thing? We arrived for our 7:15pm booking time a few minutes early and there was confusion where to seat us as the table allocated had been taken by a walk in, this was quickly sorted and we were seated on table 7, a drinks order was taken and despite the wine glasses being different sizes, presented quiet quickly. No ribeye available so the fillet steak and lobster mains ordered, The Goats cheeses tart was good and the plate removed quickly, so my expectations for the rest of the evening were looking up. More walk-ins came, seated around us, orders placed and there food was on the table before any member of staff came back to us, it was about 45 minutes and no sign of our main meals, so my wife asked a staff member if there was an issue with our order, within minutes et voila, they appeared, and here 's where the disappointing evening peaked, the food had obviously been sat waiting for some time, to be served to us, the lobster was on the hotter side of warm and just enough for my wife, the steak however being cooked to medium, looked as though it hadn 't been anywhere near to a grill, had no heat in it, the chips were cold, the confit obviously retained heat as the steak was on top of it, after 1 mouthful I mentioned it to a staff member who swiftly took it away whilst apologising, expecting a 10/15 minute wait, but no, the same plated fillet steak/chips/confit was back in front of me within 3 minutes and was a steaming plate of microwaved blandness, I called over another staff member, and advised that I was not happy that my fillet steak had been microwaved to get it hot, again more apologies and the offer of selecting another item from the menu or a drink, but I 'd seen and tried enough to sit and wait for anything else, so politely refused the offer. So yes the fillet steak was removed from the bill and the bottle of wine complementary, but with the following comment, don 't give us a bad review because your wine is free , really shows what this place is all about."
