"The day we travelled to this hotel it did not start of well so from travelling from 08.30 and arriving at 13.40 it had been exhausting as we had only travelled from Lecco , which is on the other side of the lake . Any way by the time we carted our luggage down the step entrance and over the gravel to the doors of Taverna Bleu we were greeted by a young man dressed smart with a lovely smile , he instantly took our luggage and straight up to our room whilst we checked in . The young lady was lovely and checked us in swiftly , now as l say it was 13.40 we asked about lunch as the last time we had eaten was 07.30hrs in our previous hotel . We were told the kitchen was closed and would re open at 19.00 hrs .... ok so she walked us to our room , very basic old fashioned furniture , we didn’t bother unpacking as we where only here for 1 evening but when l opened the wardrobe it smelt fusty . Quick shower and headed of downstairs for a drink . At this point two tables became occupied and given menus ? I said to my husband that’s strange as we Where told kitchen closed till 7 pm ..... anyway we had a couple of drinks down by the lake and the view is stunning and the seating area is really pretty . However for a 3* l found the price of a bottle of wine at €37 quite expensive ? Considering we will be in cernobbio tomorrow and the prices of wine range from €15 €35 in Harry’s bar a well established restaurant l couldn’t help feeling ripped off ! So by 19.00 hrs we where starving they had reserved us a table by the lake and the young waiter gave us our menu , if you are a lover of fish then you will not struggle for choice . The only meat option was a sirloin steak not my preference) but l had no other option . It came and too be honest it was huge with plenty of fries and it was nice but expect your steak to always come out medium /rare . My husband had the fried seafood dish octopus, prawns , squid all deep fried the plate again was huge ! He enjoyed it but said u can only eat some much fried food he loved the prawns. The waiter was efficient and was always topping up our drinks and helped us chose our menu , he chatted with us and was very pleasant . We ate and decided we would retire. As soon as we entered our room it was like an oven ! No AC and the room was full of moskitos this couldn’t be helped so we tried to get some sleep on the extremely hard bed ! The pillows were fine . The noise from the road behind is constant l think at 03.00 03.30 it quietened down we got no sleep at all and in the morning when other guests where enjoying there breakfast all u could here was the clanging of plates and cutlery . The highlight was meeting Heidi the beautiful little dog she did not bother anyone but if u wanted to stroke her she obliged . We have yet to check out but unfortunately we will not return to this hotel there is not much to do around the hotel and the streets are so narrow l would not recommend bringing small children to Sala Comacina ."
