"This is quite a gem food-wise. A good selection on the menu and most people will find something to suit them. It seems very popular and is only just off a main road so access is good. It seems to have a good mix of...local people and visitors and a good atmosphere. The meals were VERY good with good portion sizes and well presented and the premises was well decorated and clean including the toilets. Initially, the service was OK if slightly rushed pushy but it went somewhat awry later on. We asked for two puddings but only one arrived as the waitress didn't seem to listen properly but even then it might have warranted a to just maybe a five as, after considerable wait another did arrive, but once we were finished it was impossible to get the bill. The waitresses were far too busy chatting to a friend at the far side of the bar and even though I turned right round and looked straight at the shorter girl who had been our waitress several times, all she did was smile at me and then carry on chatting to her friends. One of the people on the next table, who by then were wanting puddings, actually had to get up and go over to the bar to ask for service ! Once that had been done I again looked at the waitress but she again just smiled and carried on talking. Eventually, we gave up and decided to go and ask for the bill. Upon being asked if everything was ok, I replied Other than being a pudding short and not being able to get the bill, yes The waitress seemed a bit put-out and said Well, you should have waved at me to come over I said that I shouldn't have to and that would normally be considered rude and she then just looked a bit blank. If their service was better ie. not so rushed initially and completely non-existent later then they would warrant a five rating."

"We made a reservation for a table of 8 (7 adults and 1 child). When we arrived at the restaurant, they were not prepared for a table of our size and had to quickly set one up. We were informed upon arrival that Thai food was not available on the menu and there were no alcoholic beverages. It would have been helpful to know this before coming as many of us were looking forward to Thai cuisine. We were served poppadoms quickly, but it took around 20 minutes for them to take our food order. The 3 starters we ordered arrived promptly. The onion bhajis looked appetizing, but the prawn pakora consisted of only 4 small battered prawns on a large plate with a small amount of sauce and salad. The main dishes took around 40 minutes to arrive, despite requesting the child's food to come first. Interestingly, two other tables of two who arrived after us received their food before us, which was disappointing. The curries arrived before the rice dishes, causing the curries to cool while waiting for the rice to be served 5-10 minutes later. We do not plan to dine in at this restaurant again as our experience was not satisfactory. We appreciate the polite and apologetic staff, but it was clear that they were not prepared for our reservation despite us booking in advance. Overall, the main dishes were decent, but we will be sticking to takeout from Saba in the future."
