"This is a review based only on take away food and from over take aways, so not a one off. One of the biggest surprises to us was the variation in quality from one week to the next. An example of this is that...a Tandoori mixed grill one week was so good, my partner had it again the next week, second time it was almost covered in a slimy coating and not at all pleasant. This also happened with a lamb Rogan josh, top quality one week, a few weeks later it tasted more like a pudding (more of this later). The quality of the meat, be it chicken, lamb or prawn has been generally absolutely top quality, large tasty pieces of meat, larger pieces than most other takeaways and good quality too. The side dishes have been generally good to. Price wise Holdi is expensive, there is no question about this and when the food is good quality I do not mind paying for it, the inconsistency we have encountered doesn’t warrant these prices to be honest. However, the biggest issue we have with Holdi is sweet curries, so often we have all of us) said this tastes sweet try it yourselves. It’s sweet to a point that it becomes a bit weird and not what you want from a curry. In addition to this have a look at the menu, about times it must say a sweet dish! We have avoided these and still received a sweet dish, the last one a sweet chicken jalfrezi…? Finally, when its around for a takeaway, chuck in a few poppadoms most other restaurants and takeaways do, it is a nice gesture."

"We stopped by for drinks while we were in the area. The prices for all the drinks were reasonable, and I highly recommend trying the milkshakes, especially the strawberry and coconut flavors. The cakes were a good size and reasonably priced, although there was a limited selection since we arrived late in the day. We were able to sit outside with our dog, and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant."

"Visited Galleria (Rainhill on Friday night, not our first visit as we are usually very happy with the quality of food and standard of cooking provided. However, we were hugely dissatisfied on this occasion. The 3 course Christmas meal was more expensive than advertised on the website! (website misleading. The main course and dessert were very disappointing with regards to portion sizes and food temperature, for example the pork option consisted of one slice of meat, one small carrot and one sprout (not joking and was luke warm. Christmas pudding not what you'd imagine, a small thin square with some sauce ! and was also lukewarm. Chocolate pudding option was remarkable for the fact that one of our guest received a much smaller portion than the other. Should have complained but did not want to cause a fuss or embrasment in front of our guests. Terrible value for money, in hindsight should have gone to the Cookhouse Carvery at least you know its consistent and good value for money, no fancy menu descriptions!"

"Our second visit to this Indian restaurant and its becoming a firm favorite, the service and food on both occasions has been excellent. free parking at the rear is a bonus and the square at the front has several 'trendy ' bars and restaurants, price wise I found it very reasonable and the portions are generous- no photos on this visit as it was a birthday meal out and busy interacting with people but I will definitely be returning soon"

"We popped in on a Monday lunchtime although the pub was already busy, we were able to find a table. Service at the bar was very friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious I had the lasagne (with excellent chips) Th'Usband had the Talahassee Chicken with rice. The food came quite quickly and had clearly been freshly cooked. The portions were very generous and our meals were delicious. They were even kind enough to serve us a takeaway portion of jam roly poly, so we can enjoy it when we're not so full! This was our first visit but won't be our last."

"Kirkfield is a charming restaurant with a slightly confusing layout upon arrival. The staff was very friendly, from the phone call to confirm a table to the waiter who joked with us about St. Patrick's Day. The service was excellent. The fish and chips were amazing, with my wife loving it and me also enjoying what I stole. The chips were fantastic. However, the burger was disappointing and overpriced at £14. The meat was clearly reheated and had bits of artery in it. The mac and cheese, on the other hand, was delicious with a good amount of sauce and crispy topping. Overall, it was not a terrible experience but not outstanding either. I may not rush back due to the hit-and-miss quality of the food. Give it a try, but skip the burger and go for the fish and chips instead."

"I watch the dean on facebook for about 2 years and wait for the right time to go. I booked the afternoon with Carol singers as an early birthday/Christmas celebration for my elders. my dad asked to leave his sandwiches level, as he is not interested in condiments, so that I have the restaurant q few days before emailed and also asked for prosecco to be on the table of the grandchildren for mum birthday. a day before the booking I had no answer, so she directed instead. the manager was very helpful and assured me that the prosecco would be treated and my father could order the sandwiches from the waitress/wacherin. very disappointed that there is no prosecco on the table and my vater to say that the sandwiches are made on order so that they all open up the kondiments. the chef made him very friendly some cheese and ham croquets instead and be fair, that was nice to eat the young lady who served us was really nice and could not have been more helpful. the place itself was beautiful and worth the visit. the chorus was fantastic as the pianist, so I would still recommend it, and I would go back again, but the problem with the sandwiches took the glamor for me, especially as it was a birthday Christmas look."

"have always visited this restaurant, it is a massive family lover and we are always eager back. this was our first time back, since a few members of our family have become vegetarian and so we tried the vegetarian banquet that was great! it was. very much that we could enjoy the same courses as the carnivores without the meat. the most important meal times were amazing. the personal was always so friendly and there is always a fast service. the perfect place for a family dinner or a solid. highly recommended and we will definitely visit again for another!"

"I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews but Unfortunately I can’t say I very much enjoyed my first and potentially last trip to Sabroso. Firstly let me say that we got the food as a takeaway. Now, I’m not a big fan of writing bad reviews. I would rather write a review praising the establishment to allow others to try as we have. However, we were mislead by the reviews and feel that maybe we caught them on a bad day. Nevertheless we had a bad experience. We started with some soft chicken tacos which *spoiler alert* were the best thing that we tried. The flavour was great. The meat quantity was perfect. A great little starter if you’re willing to share. I was getting really excited at this point. However, it’s a slow decline from here. The fried jalapeños were not great. Felt and tasted manufactured if I’m quite honest and with the chilli dip to go with it, which was most certainly ‘crucials extra hot chilli sauce’ that you get in most takeaways these days, I was feeling slightly let down. You would think a Mexican/ tex mex restaurant would at least make a good chilli sauce. For the main, I had a Beef Chilli burrito, which I asked to be made a little spicier, and it Was flavourless. Mainly tasted like cheese and was packed with rice, which I understand that’s what a burrito should be But there was barely any meat/ chilli. I was thinking if my chicken tacos were that tasty I can’t wait for the burrito but it was bland. No flavour to the Mexican rice and there wasn’t any spice to be found. I was very disappointed to say the least. The missus had chicken enchiladas and had this to say: large portion with a substantial amount of chicken but could only really taste tomatoes. Too saucy and rather flavourless. The onion rings and sweet potato fries tasted like they came from a packet. Overall a solid 2 out of 5. I had high hopes from the reviews but it really wasn’t much to shout about. Nothing really Mexican in sight except the tacos. Do not let our review stop you from trying the food for yourselves and maybe you’ll have a better experience If you eat in the restaurant rather than a takeaway. Enjoy yourselves. Nick and Becky."

"Been visiting here for 13 years absolutely LOVED FOOD and STAFF. Past few years new landlady in charge. Poor service! Food not as good. Paid for roast dinner never arrived landlady accused me of not paying. Turns out I did pay, apology was in form of a drink poor customer connection. she needs to understand her attitude reflects upon her staff and affects her staff morale and her customer service. Used to be a fabulous pub, would not recommend unless leadership changes. Such a shame because great music, and wonderful outside dining."

"My partner and I tried this restaurant for the first time on Friday night. We were blown away by how wonderful it was. Jane, our server, was delightful. The food was simply amazing. I ordered the lamb with sweet potatoes, while my partner had the stuffed peppers. We were not disappointed at all - the food was incredibly tasty and bursting with flavor. The portion sizes were generous as well. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes from the menu. Thank you, Jane, for a lovely evening."

"This place used to be one of the best around. This time it was SO BAD I had to double check that we hadn't ordered from next door by mistake. They must have changed chefs. The whole order arrived late and was FREEZING cold Tikka masala was awful had a really weird taste and nothing like it used to be, really stingey on the chicken too, lockdown must of hit them hard They forgot the chips so can't comment on them, chicken pakoras smelly, soggy and completely inedible. Even the hot sauce dip was awful completely different than it used to be tasted like ketchup? Needless to say it went in the bin "

"Ordered 2 steak pies and chips. Only when the meal was ready did the staff tell us that there was only one portion of pie and so they had split it between the 2 of us but said they had given us extra veg. We were in a hurry so said ok (it was lunch time). The veg was inedible overcooked but cold (looked like it had been around for a fe day). We struggled to find more than a handful of pieces of steak between the 2 of us, the rest was just thick gloopy gravy. The only good thing on the plate was the hot chips. The staff did knock off 20% when we highlighted this to them (especially when they were going to charge us full price for only half a pie each with very little filling. Very disappointed as we had read lots of good reviews before going, but struggling to see how it was rated so highly."

"We had a fantastic experience on our first visit to The Wine Club. The restaurant was bustling with activity. Despite the crowd, our table for four was ready as we had reserved. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady and promptly served our drinks. We decided to order a pizza and a variety of tapas dishes. The staff informed us that the food would be brought out as soon as it was ready due to the small kitchen size. Each dish was delicious and we were thoroughly satisfied with our meal. We were so pleased with our experience that we have already made reservations for our next visit."

"we went last night for halloween, visit my first and I can't blame anything. fantastic BBQ food freshly cooked before them, great beer, personal are top quality, so attentive, but not in their face and so knowledgeable about the menu. "Just want to say thankyou to all at Kozi, we had a suprise meal on Friday for my mums 50th and it was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were so friendly. "We ordered delivery from this restaurant and it arrived later than the estimated time, which wasn't a big issue for me. However, our curry sauce was missing from the main meal so we had to call to have it delivered separately. Later, we realized that our naan bread was also missing, but we were told to mention it next time since they had already delivered the sauce. The food itself was delicious, but it would be great if they paid more attention to the accuracy of the order before sending it out for delivery. Delivery service was good overall."

"We visited our favourite Indian restaurant in St Helens to celebrate our son and his girlfriend returning from their holiday to celebrate his 21st birthday. We hadn't booked, it was a last minute request when we picked them up from the airport. We were accommodated thankfully and an unexpected fuss was made of my son! Completely unorganised but welcome none the less. I am a creature of habit but my husband, son and girlfriend are not. They ordered the mango chichen, chicken tikka balti, chicken tikka chilli and I, of course the chicken tikka madras. All chicken dishes were so moist, aromatic and delicious. The starters, lamb samosas, so tasty and crispy, mixed kebab and onion bajhis to die for and the onion rice, mushroom pilau rice, my favourite were so deliciously fresh, fluffy even were a wonderful addition to our meal. We requested extra coriander with both selected meals and naan breads, which I would highly recommend by the way and were so much appreciated. I'd not mentioned it was my son's birthday when making a last minute booking, I'd only just picked them up from the airport, but, the staff were amazing, reserved us a table on a Saturday night, and during our conversation at the table, delivered our son a delicious dessert to say Happy Birthday! We don't have a lot of time together as a family, but, when we do we try to make it count, and whether it's a takeaway or a sit down, the Millon is ALWAYS our go to place for the best Indian in St Helens. If you've not been before, give these guys a go! I tell you, you'll go back again and again!!!"

"This restaurant is a fantastic old-fashioned pub that serves delicious food at reasonable prices. I had a fantastic curry and my wife had a sizzler, and we were both very happy with our meals. The staff are very friendly and the service, although not very fast, is worth the wait as the food is cooked to order and has a special "pub food" charm. The only downside is the limited parking, but luckily I was able to find a space. I have limited mobility and am grateful for that. Overall, thank you for a great experience."

"Visited for a belated birthday lunch. Restaraunt is welcoming and nicely laid out and we were seated when we arrived despite being a bit early for our table. The roast dinner was excellent a good helping of chicken and ham, raosties, gravy, stuffing and a large selection of vegtables all nicely cooked and presented. Hubby had the hunters chicken burger which came with homemade chunky chips, onion rings slaw, salad etc. Both meals were very nice and we finished off with tea and coffee and just one dessert for me as it was my birthday after all! The staff were friendly and the service was very good. Overall it was a very pleasant visit and we would visit again. PS. We had booked a table and just as well as despite it being a rather wet Friday lunch time there seemed to be a steady number of people arriving to eat."
