"The food selection was varied and of above-average quality compared to other similar restaurants I have tried. I didn't encounter any issues with cold, bland, or undercooked dishes. In contrast, I paid £18.99 at another buffet restaurant and found the food to be of lower quality and lacking a theme. My meal included a salad, vegetarian lasagne, ratatouille, spicy chicken, chilli con carne, and a small portion of Christmas pudding. My child enjoyed fish fingers, beans, chips, cherry tart, and a Twister ice cream. There was also a carvery station and options like curry and spring rolls. Some customers seemed to focus on the kids' section and loaded up on chips and beans, missing out on the variety of other dishes available. I particularly liked the Hawaiian/tropical theme of the restaurant and the view of the water park, especially from a window seat. The festive steel band Christmas music added to the atmosphere. Keep in mind that this is a restaurant in a theme park hotel, so the prices are higher for the overall experience. If you prefer more budget-friendly options, there are pubs nearby outside of the resort. Overall, the pros include a diverse food selection, decent quality, themed atmosphere, and views of the water park. However, the restaurant is slightly overpriced, and some guests' behavior can be off-putting at times. If you are a picky eater, the price may not be justified for you."

"We booked a table for Sunday lunch to be told the meat was lamb, explanation later. Walking into the pub we were greeted and made welcome by the owner. The waitress, Clio, showed us to our table. It transpired that the pub has a small...menu and today, Sunday, the lunch was lamb; accompanied by carrots, cauliflower cheese, roast and new potatoes, and gravy. The meal was plentiful and tasty; this was home cooking, none of your off site cooked and then brought to table food you often get in big chain pubs. Take it from us if Carling did Sunday lunch they probably couldn’t do one as nice as this one. Again the desert was limited for choice, an almond flavoured, jam sponge with custard (or ice cream, and likely as not both if you so desired) or mince pie, again with a choice of topping. All rounded off with coffee of one’s choice. Now not to decry the the Foxhounds in anyway, this is not your normal pub fare, this is more like being invited to your parents or friends for lunch good food, simply prepared. Our waitress was charming and couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay. Located on Biddulph Moor the pub enjoys a delightful rural setting; sat out here on a summer’s day must be a delight. An added incentive is likely the beer, as the owner took pride in his beers and the tip top state he kept them in. I can confirm that his wines are nice too. This was our first visit to the Foxhounds, but as Arnold Schwarzenegger might have said “we will be back!”"
