"Food tasted mice however the menu is for dairy and gluten free so chips were on the menu instead of mash (to cater for dairy free) however it seems like chips are fried in the same fryer. I went for seabass with mash and while it was very nice I was unwell a few yours later. I imagine from cross contamination. There was also gluten free bread available. Maybe good for those with an intolerance but not for coeliacs"

"the best pizza in stevenage. the only one I found seems a bit proud of the foods that they send to their customers. praised to write a review for them after a good service last night. our pizzen were delivered mistakenly to a neighbor who took the delivery, dragged it through, ate. they have recognized the error and sorted within 20 minutes replacement. pizzas were high quality and the supplier was very apologetic. the only pizza place in the city we will use."

"This was just Ok for me. First off I ordered a lamb samosa, I don't like spicy, this didn't say it was spicy and yet it was very hot and I only took one bite! It ruined the rest of the meal. Nothing else seemed to have any seasoning, the butter chicken was jus really bland for me, I have had better. Maybe my taste has changed but I struggle these days to find a good indian takeaway. Disappointed. Binned most of it. It would be nice also if these places did smaller portions for one person, far too much."

"Went with my wife last night and have not been to this restaurant before. So glad we did! It had a nice ambience to it and it was fairly busy. Our waiter was great. We explained we had not been before and was not sure on portion sizes etc. He made some good suggestions and we definitely was not disappointed! A great little shared Meze starter with the best Falafels we have tasted!! The sausage pieces were amazing! The main dish again was to share and a mix of meats served with rice and a salad. We could not fault it! Such lovely flavours and more than plenty. In fact we could not eat anything else and rounded it off with Turkish coffee and Turkish delight!! Both **** lovely!! All the staff were lovely and polite. Thank you all for such an amazing night!! We will definitely be back!!"

"We ordered our meal from a restaurant on Just Eat and were surprised by the high prices. We were also disappointed to find that when we requested no sauce on our dish, it meant there was nothing between the bread and toppings. The biggest letdown was when we received a text immediately after placing our order, informing us that it would be significantly delayed. It seems like the restaurant should have known about this beforehand. To make up for the inconvenience, we received an extra pizza that we didn't order, which was a nice gesture. The pizza was decent, even without the sauce, and the kebabs we ordered were tasty. Overall, we suggest the restaurant lower their prices and improve their delivery time estimates."

"Had a very nice meal late Saturday afternoon and managed to get the benefit of the 3 tapas for £9.99. So we had 9 plates between us both along with wine then finished off with sweet, then cocktails. The ambiance was very good and typically Spanish tapas style and very busy 4-5pm. The food was tasty and their cocktails spot on with friendly and bustling staff. The only downside was that an additional tapas plate and 2 drinks that we didn’t have were included in the bill. This should not happen with electronic real time ordering and check out. So check your bill carefully."

"So I recently visited FireJacks and it was a Monday night. It wasn’t very busy but it was the place we wanted to go to. Now it might also be the first place I’ve ever been where the food took less time than the drinks, and the drinks came in a very appropriate time. This did make me wonder as to how a K Jacket could be produced in under 5 minutes and therefore the freshness of the food is very debatable. The k jacker was a nice chicken burger however with a cold dry bun it let itself down. I also got cheesy fries which again were nice but knowing how cheap chips are to produce a few more would have been nice. Sadly firejacks didn’t light up our evening."

"the second time here for a family meeting. this time booked a space for a large group of 31 for Easter Sunday and was not disappointed. the staff is excellent, so friendly and efficient. .order very prompted for lunch when everyone arrived and bought drinks . some had fryed, even I myself and really enjoyed. very delicate meat. the cake was loved by my nave and brother in law. I heard were a little disappointing. for few drinks remained and was moved to another table, as the group became smaller. it didn't matter how always looked. personal superb . will do again for another family than ideal for families. many thanks for a great service and a great day. "I heard of a chips shop offering gluten free fish and chips. I have been unable to eat gluten for a few years and didn't even know this was an option so I usually make my own. Good friday, I am unable to eat meat (christian). I called the shop to make sure they had GF fish before driving 15 mins to the shop which is in the next town. I was told they had it but I couldn't pre order, I had to just go and order in the shop. Well my husband and I went, waited in line from 19.00 until 20.30 and when we finally got to the till they advised they had run out of GF fish. I was absolutely livid! You could have said this when people are waiting in the queue so long, you could have let me pre order in the first place and put it aside for me, you could have just made one after realising I waited 1.5 hours in the cold expecting GF Fish. It's just batter! We got a shrug of the shoulders, a sorry and I had to order halloumi. NEVER AGAIN!"

"I think the best Indian food in stevenage. the cuisine specialities are excellent. I only collected the food, was always punctual, correct and not. depending on time and day, the parking space in the old town can be ridiculously difficult (e.g. imagine to drive 10 minutes to find a place). I don't understand the comment that all the courts are the same, very far from it. I would always go to surma despite the parking shortage."

"10 of us went for a birthday dinner. We were put on 2 round tables pushed together, which was weird. There were plenty of available rectangular tables that could have been pushed together and there was only one other booking in the restaurant so I'm not sure why they did that. I was on the bit kind of between the 2 tables so I chose 1 but then almost had my back to most people on the other table. We all choose the buffet menu which included 3 starters each, Peking duck or lamb and 2 main dishes each. We could have ordered more dishes, free of charge, but only if we finished all the dishes on the table. The food was amazing, hence the 4 stars even though the table lay out was not the best and the staff were a bit shouty!"

"I have been a customer of Mumbai Spice for the past 18 months, and I have consistently enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service every time. They offer a wide variety of dishes, all made with high-quality ingredients and presented beautifully. The portions are generous, and the main dishes are not greasy. The side dishes are also very good. The delivery is always on time, and the staff is friendly and pleasant. Their regular 20% discount offers on JustEat are a nice bonus. Overall, I would rate them as 'Excellent', although I must mention that Spice Station in Chingford is also outstanding."

"I recently dined at Bombay restaurant in Stevenage, and I must say, it ranks among the best Indian food I have ever had in Britain and beyond. I ordered the lamb pasanda and shared a delicious peshwari naan with my friend who had the garlic chilli chicken. Both dishes were outstanding, some of the best food we have ever tasted. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and we were seated promptly and served in a timely manner. I cannot wait to return to Stevenage, and Bombay will be my first choice for dining again."

"Really nice food and friendly, but not excessively courteous service. The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived, and although we had booked a table 5 days before, we were placed on a laboriously assembled section in the middle of the restaurant. We asked if we could sit against one of the padded sections (which was easy to keep the children clamped), but it was said it was booked.... no one sat there during the meal that was frustrating."

"My friend I went for lunch on Sunday. I am a regular diner at this establishment. Unfortunately our experience yesterday was not a good one. We both ordered Sunday lunch trio with a side of cauliflower cheese. We waited a good 30 minutes for our order then the cauliflower cheese arrived. We sent this back as we didn't yet have our mains and didn't want it to get cold. Our food finally came and then came the cauliflower cheese. Our mains were very nice but the cauliflower was terrible. It was not cooked through was very hard the cheese sauce was almost non existent. We sat with our dirty plates for more than 30 mins before asking for them to be cleared. We were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. We said we did. After about 15 mins my friend went asked for it at the counter. We could see all of the waiting staff chatting so it wasn't that they were very busy. When our desserts came they were very disappointing. One was ice cream but they had the flavours wrong it had chocolate sauce that was neither asked for or wanted. The other was creme brulee. The was no burnt sugar topping, none. And it wasn't set. It was runny sloppy. We didn't complain because by then we had had enough. We paid the bill, which was £67 left. I certainly won't be taking friends there on a Sunday for lunch again. It was a very disappointing experience."

"Regular date night venue for me and my husband pre pandemic and the food has always been fantastic. time back there for an early dinner two days ago. I ordered goats cheese and beetroot focia and my husband ordered pork chops. When the food...arrived we were thoroughly underwhelmed. My goats cheese sandwich looked like an undercooked Victoria sponge cake, the fries were underdone and it came with a ramekin of crisps. Onion rings didn't arrive either. The pork was however completely inedible. The fat was uncooked and the meat was overcooked and dry, did not have any hint of the glazed' stated on the menu (think hospital food type appearance). Husband tried a mouthful of the pork and (for the first time EVER) complained to the waiter that it was inedible. The waiter goes to speak to the manager and then told us I will knock off the price as you have eaten so much'. This is ridiculous as he had one mouthful (which he spat out). Then called over the manager who said quite rudely that he would take it off the menu. The waiter was very professional however the managers behaviour left a lot to be desired. Prior to the pandemic, every experience we had here was fantastic. We are wondering if it is maybe under new management or something to explain such a huge change in the standards (and bad attitude of the restaurant manager). We even had our wedding at the attached hotel which is the same company as we love the venue and the food. Sadly won't be returning"

"Love this pub! The team are always so friendly and the atmosphere spot on. Wife and I eat here 2 or 3 times a month and are yet to be disappointed food has always been delicious and amazing value for money! Food can be a little on the slow side sometimes but I would rather wait that bit longer and have a decent meal than have some microwaved rubbish launched out of the kitchen like it’s some sort of race as per some of the other pubs (cattle markets) in town! If you want a good bite to eat at a decent price, served by some of the happiest bar staff I’ve seen in years…then this is definitely the place!"
