"Bit disappointing. We had breakfast here in April ‘23 for convenience, as we stayed at the Premier Inn which we could not fault. The breakfast however was disappointing. Non-dairy milk was provided on request, someone then had to go and look for it, open a pack, gave me enough for one drink, and then put it away again, after having waited for it the first time for a while at the counter, I did not bother with a second drink. It was nowhere near as nice as my coffee machine at home. As the ‘all you can eat’ is no longer self-service, we waited for about half an hour to get our order in, making us a bit late and rushed for our timed-entry at the castle. We’d long finished our drinks and croissants before we finally got to order. I had mentioned earlier to the waiter that my croissant had had a hair in it. He said to put the hair in the bin, I told him the hair was baked into the croissant, he then just pointed at the bin, and told me to have an other one, but I was a bit put off by then. Later someone mentioned that you can also ask to have your croissant warmed up, but this was not apparent from any sign. When my breakfast came it had a bit of cooked plastic into the egg, like from bacon wrapping, I didn’t bother mentioning it, just fished it out, had my breakfast and went. Sausages were nice, and had it been buffet I would have had an other one, so I imagine they save a lot of money by running it this way instead! The rest of the food was pretty mediocre. I won’t be back for breakfast in a hurry, but had a lovely night at the Premier Inn though. As this is very close to the center, if walking is not a problem for you, I’d go somewhere else!"

"In our group of 4 I was the only vegan and although the options were somewhat limited, the staff were very attractive, attentive and friendly. The menu has clear vegan options with a selection of 2 starters, 3 nets, but only one dessert. It was also nice to see different options there, such as vegan lasagna and a curry instead of the obvious veg burgers etc. I chose the sweet potato, spinach and chickpea curry and the waitress was friendly enough to let me know that it was incredibly mild, so offered to remove the Spicyness level for me, which was very appreciated! The curry should come with rice and flatbread, but what arrived was two empty steamed bao beans minus the fillings if they had not run out of flatbreads at any point, this was communicated with me or I was sure they were a vegan friendly underwater. The rice was also quite dry and tasted as if it had been the instant type that you microwave. However, the curry was delicious, so it was a shame that it was abandoned by the other componenets of the plate. Another reviewer mentioned that the wines were labeled vegan, I don't know if this has changed since I fought to see any hint that they could be suitable. I chose a beer I knew was vegan friendly and also a spirit drink and blender drink on the safe side, although I would have decided to wine if they were clearly marked. In summary, even with a few Dissapoints, it is still not a bad place to go when you are in the area, especially since the atmosphere was very peaceful and pleasant.
