"How disappointing. We went there as we saw the great reviews and that they had vegan vegetarian options BUT apart from the beautiful view there wasn’t much to be desired. The eggplant in the grilled vegetable was completely undercooked hard. The caprese was very average and if you compare the photos from a past review that I have attached, you’ll see it’s clear we got some half arsed effort tonight. Our vegan caprese lacked detail that it once had no heart shape cheese and only one little fresh basil which is SO necessary for flavour. Compare the photos from the review and tonight, where there used to be basil throughout the dish. Our Seitan dish was half the size of the photo in a previous review AND was barely edible VERY over cooked, difficult to cut with a knife. What’s more the ratatouille it came with was cold. It was very underwhelming. We also had a pasta dish which was also cold and lacked flavour. Oh, and my wine came with an insect. My only regret is I waited until the bill to give feedback. I should’ve sent it all back to the chef. There was one nice waitress but overall the whole place lacked personality and didn’t feel welcoming at all. We’ve eaten at a LOT of places and call ourselves “foodies” I rarely leave a negative review, so to write this says exactly how disappointing the experience was. To top it off it was the our most expensive meal in Lake Como for us 4x the lunch we had earlier in the day that was so authentic, served warm, and delicious and satisfying which makes it even worse. I’m always happy spend the extra s on a great meal, but sadly this was NOT!!!"

"We arrived at the restaurant after an afternoon of hiking to Monte Croce. At first we were unsure if they would even let us inside due to our sport clothes, because the pictures of the menu looked very fancy. However, this was not an issue and we found that the atmosphere of the restaurant was indeed quite laid back. We were offered delicious arancini and home made grissini on the house. We ordered a tuna tataki in ponzu sauce and a truffle oil beef carpaccio as a starter. The cook was so kind to accomodate separating our carpaccio in two portions because i cannot tolerate truffle oil. As a main dish we had pasta with shrimps and tomatoes and raviolis with goat cheese. Our dessert sent both of us jumping from our chairs: a catalan cream with cinnamon crumble and ice cream. The food was definitely prepared with love and of the highest quality, exactly what the doctor ordered after a long hike. Service was very friendly and even the Chef came outside at some point to make sure everything was okay. This was hands down the best food experience of our trip, and although it was not the cheapest, the food-quality ratio here has absolutely nothing to do with the overpriced restaurants around Como Lake. It is quite “off-the-beaten-path” for most tourist but it is definitely worth the trip and the money!!!"

"In una affollatissima domenica in cui (purtroppo) non eravamo riusciti a prenotare e in cui alle 14 la maggior parte dei locali aveva la cucina chiusa, siamo stati colpiti dalla gentilezza del personale di questo locale tra i vicoli di Varenna, che ha mostrato da subito classe, eleganza e gentilezza, facendoci accomodare e soddisfando ogni nostra esigenza.Il menu ci ha stupito dall’ antipasto al dolce. Ogni portata è presentata e cucinata magistralmente.Davvero consigliato."

"Abbiamo avuto modo di provare questo ristorante pizzeria per caso, dopo il rientro da una bellissima passeggiata sul lago di Varenna:Siamo stati subito accolti dal Personale di sala in modo cordiale e capace. La sensibilità dimostrata nei confronti di un disabile nell’aiutarlo ad accomodarsi al tavolo è stata eccezionale (purtroppo ormai di umanità se ne trova poca).Lo stesso trattamento (ripeto eccezionale) è stato riservato anche al nostro cagnolino con un benvenuto dato da una ciotola di acqua fresca. Il Capo Sala Orlando accoglie i clienti con grande cordialità, attento ad ogni minimo particolare per permettere di passare una bella serata in maniera straordinaria.. ci siamo sentiti coccolati su ogni cosa.Ambiente curato e pulito.Le pizze provate sono ottime!!!Complimenti al pizzaiolo!!! La pizza con pancetta grana e croste di grana era una vera delizia per il palato.Da segnalare positivamente la rapiditànel servizio.Quando tornerò non mancherà di certo una nuova visita al vostro ristorante!! "In giorni di caldo torrido o comunque per una gita fuori porta consiglio assolutamente di fermarsi a Varenna.Facilissima da raggiungere con il treno, appena scesi capirete di essere in un posto quasi incantato.Qui il tempo sembra essersi fermato.Scendendo verso la parte vecchia non potrete che ammirare case storiche e scalinate con squarci improvvisi sul lago.Arrivati sul lungo lago da cui partono i traghetti per Bellagio, vi consiglio di dirigervi sulla sinistra iniziando la passeggiata degli innamorati.Rimarrete basiti dalla vista stupenda e da una vegetazione tanto lussureggiante e accesa di fiori in un luogo praticamente nascosto.Passato il piccolissimo porticciolo, inizia il paesino vero e proprio, ricco di baretti i, ristoranti e qualche negozio tipico.Il bello è però percorrere la strada a tratti in salita e avventurarsi tra le case storiche, gli archi pittoreschi, gli alberghetti e se avrete fortuna in qualche abitante che ancora esercita lavori antichi.Per prendere il sole tra i lidi segnalati, vi consiglio il Blanco.Carinissimo e con affaccio sul lago offre una piscina, lettini e ombrelloni, un bellissimo prato, ristorante e musica discreta.Passare una giornata qui vi farà tornare a casa sicuramente con il sorriso e la voglia di ritornarci."
