"We dined here on my husbands 50th birthday. We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate. We ate on a quiet Tuesday in January there was just us and another party of 3 also celebrating a birthday. Our host Carla was the...most welcoming attentive of hosts. On arrival we were offered prosecco when I mentioned it was my husbands 50th Carla bought out a fab bottle of red wine which was her gift to him. Now to the food........oh the food! We has a plate of aperitivo which were all scrumptious. I had the best olives I have ever eaten, from the south Carla said, in the best oil with saffron. There were parmesan crisps, various sausages cured meat, many other small bites which certainly tickled our tastebuds! Rather than choose from the menu we went with Carla's recommendations. Wow!! We had three plates of different pasta to start, all fantastic, the first was made with lemoncello, sounds bizarre but tasted sublime! The following plates of homemade fresh pasta with the most delicate of fillings flavours also tasted like ambrosia to us!! For main my husband had fillet of beef slow cooked in red wine which was so tender perfectly medium rare you could eat it with a spoon. I had a speciality of the house which Carla described in such flamboyant detail I had to have it. It was small balls of I don't know what but it tasted like heaven. By this time we were stuffed but Carla wanted to bring us more. We shared a pudding made from pistacio, marzipan, gelato other unknown but delicious ingredients. The restaurant itself is magical, an alladins cave of treasures accumulated over the years by Carla her family;. She told us how her granddfather opened it in 1936 has been family run ever since. In a city of high rises it is a cute house tucked away on a corner, not even a sign outside to tell you it is there. It is an absolute treasure I couldn't recommend it more highly, we will definitely return. The cost of the meal including wine was around 100 euro which we felt was fantastic value for the food service. I can honestly say it was the best restaurant experience we have ever had. Thank you Carla family for making us feel so welcome."

I want to give 5 stars to the wheel and even before returning. It is a wonderful place I have visited several times and I have a divine memory of the dishes, the care of the local, the sympathy of Carla, the passion of my sister. I'll be back in two days, but I'm waiting for this dinner as when I was expecting my baby.

I discovered this jewel in rom. carla and mirella are brilliant and went out of the way to make sure we had a nice meal, we. even glasses from free processco at the arrival. it was nice to hear how the restaurant is in possession and not only run to give it 100% in the service, but eating is from this world. I've never tasted such a smell in a meal and I'm getting out regularly. I love this place so much, and I'm sure I'll be back.

this place was magical from beginning to end! we were immediately greeted in this beautifully decorated family-run restaurant, with areas inside and outside that had a special charming feeling. we went through the kitchen to an amazing grotto beyond (our own...small cantuccio) for two. wow! we had such a wonderful time, between our talks with mother and daughter team we were served by our welcome proseccos to our courteous liqueur at the end. eating was divine and at one point we even thought that we had gone down the canyon hole with alice. well worth the way around.
