"We had our first visit to Antica Roma tonight, just my husband, myself, and our daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, with excellent service and amazing food that was not only delicious but also piping hot! The waiters were very friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed and even sharing a few laughs with us. We found the prices to be quite reasonable for both the food and drinks. A major bonus for us was the availability of a disabled parking bay right across the street, as my husband has trouble walking long distances. We definitely recommend this restaurant and are already planning our next visit."

Went here for my sons birthday and they sang him a song and put a candle on his profiteroles. Was a really lovely time. Brilliant food. Definitely will be going again!

I visited Calne to see family and decided to pick up a pizza from this place after a quick Google search. I'm so glad I did! I highly recommend it - the staff were friendly and the food was delicious.

Just delicious! I am happy to recommend the food and staff to anyone. I found the price of soft drinks extortionate a large lemonade was only 20p less than a Gin Tonic!!! Designated drivers hit yet again. They would gave got 6 stars from me otherwise.

So friendly and accommodating; great service and the food was delicious. We had the Antipasta Misto as a sharing starter; followed by Risotto de Mare for me and my wife had Cozze (fresh mussels) from the starter menu as a main dish. It was all amazing.

My friends and I went to this restaurant for dinner before a pub quiz. We were all impressed by the warm welcome, great service, and delicious menu options. I especially enjoyed the prawn risotto, which was the best I've ever had! Our group of 7 highly recommends this hidden gem in Calne.

We dined at this restaurant on Sunday night. The location is easy to locate with nearby on-street parking available. The service was outstanding, with friendly staff in every area. The restaurant was surprisingly bustling, a positive indication. The food was superb, especially the dessert, and the prices were moderate. Overall, it was a lovely evening.

I read on facebook earlier this week the Antica Roma original owners and kitchen staff were back. So we went back as soon as we could, i.e. last night. The entire experience (the food, the staff and service, the venue, the atmosphere) was absolutely first class!!! Thank you Antica Roma so much. We came away so so happy to know this wonderful little gem of a place to eat has returned to Calne once again.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
