"Lovely setting, garden to look around and wonderful plants to buy, with a glimpse at an Anthony Gormley statute or two. Homemade cakes ,and scones. Fresh rolls made to order and fresh soup made I believe from produce grown there. Afternoon tea available- would guess need to book in advance. Service is slow as though a lot of staff , systems don't seem to be in place. A place for slow living. Limited seating in doors, up stairs, but ample seating outside. Free car park on site, disabled parking nearer to cafe."

This cafe, located in a beautiful garden and plant center, is absolutely lovely. I, someone who is very particular about coffee, found their flat white to be quite good. They also offer a wonderful variety of tasty cakes and homemade scones. The setting is ideal.

My elderly parents and I have visited this little ‘sanctuary’ frequently throughout the year. We have nothing but thanks for the warm welcome, great coffee and food and for the way we are always looked after despite my Father being in a wheelchair. Thank you and roll on next year….we will miss our visits!

As someone new to needing gluten-free options, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious taste and texture of the high-quality Schär gluten-free roll at this restaurant. The roll had a generous amount of bacon and the coffee was good. The service was lovely and it was clear that the staff takes pride in their work. Speisekarte ansehen

I was not pleased with my experience at this restaurant. The cake we ordered was very dry and came in a small portion with a blob of yogurt. The drinks were served in paper cups, which was disappointing since this is not a takeout establishment. The total cost for two small pieces of cake and two coffees was £14.95. The setting was lovely, but unfortunately, I do not plan on returning.

Very lovely cafe, serving lots of great cakes and coffee. Our coffee was incredible, we were thoroughly impressed. The carrot cake was excellent too. If we were to say one thing to improve it would be a better system for ordering as we were waiting 25 minutes in a queue of only 4 people ahead of us, we didn’t mind this as we had lots of time but wouldn’t be ideal if we wanted a quick coffee.

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
