"I’ve had various sandwiches over recent weeks as Basils is located next to my office. All sandwiches have been served on fresh bread, packed with fillings. Staff are excellent at reacting to customers with speed so their small shop isn’t left to bursting. My only disappointing was when trying one of their jacket potatoes. Other similar sandwich shops serve there’s with a side of salad, there’s come without and it’s simply an average sized potato. A tasty potato is made a struggle from their clear deep takeaway style container so i had to eat at a weird angle to ‘access’. cheap easily breakable cutlery struggled against the delicious crispy skin. The clear container almost made a less than appealing looking potato as my potato sat in a pool of melted cheese and butter. Taste was great but delivery not the best."

We ordered two rolls, one with cheese and one with ham, which were a bit pricey but freshly made. The cappuccino was also expensive, but it was very large. Just be sure to double-check the prices as they sometimes make mistakes.

Dropped in for a late bacon sarnie at about 10am and was very disappointed. They remicrowaved some dry cold bacon and succeeded in burning the white bread toast. An unmitigated disaster and I should have refused to pay. No brown sauce either. Rubbish!

I have had many sandwiches over the 30 plus years of working in London, but this is the best. Great choices, flavours and great size servings. Staff are always friendly, and fast service. You must try a Bacon and sausage toasted on granary for breakfast top notch!

If you’re in the area just go and buy yourself some lunch and eat it down by the Thanes. You won’t regret it. Huge hand made sandwiches that cost a fraction more than the ready packed ones in M&S and taste divine. I had the salt beef on white, so yummy. Highly recommended! Speisekarte ansehen

Went here just after Christmas and fancied a plain old corned beef and pickle sandwich. Looked great, lovely bread and lots of beef. Went wrong when I bit into it and it was crunchy! Couldn’t put my finger on it at first but then during the 2nd bite I realised the corned beef was frozen. Only ate one half so was pretty disappointing. In the upside they do some great free garlic bread whilst you are waiting.

I visited this place which does not look welcoming at all. I wanted to try the food since there is always a long queue of people getting food from there. I ordered a chicken escalope sandwich and paid £6.90 for it. Its too pricey. I could have gone to the food stalls and get something more filling for even less money. I hence do not recommend it. There are other sandwich shops around there, which are a lot better.

This hidden gem is a delightful discovery. When you step into this traditional deli, you'll be greeted by walls lined with a variety of sandwich options, from classic doorstep sandwiches to toasted baps. I've tried the smoked salmon sandwich, which was generously filled with salmon, lettuce, and lemon, as well as the fish finger sandwich they offer on Fridays for only £3.70! I highly recommend trying it out for a delicious and affordable sandwich experience. Speisekarte ansehen

During our trip to London in September 2023, we came across positive reviews on Tripadvisor for Basils restaurant. We decided to try their breakfast and were not disappointed. Despite being reasonably priced, the food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They offer a wide selection of sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. While there is limited seating available, we opted for takeout and enjoyed our meal back at the hotel. Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend Basils to others.

First, only about a 3 minute walk from the Tower Hill Underground Station, to find it you will either need to check a map or get lucky like we did. Basils is a really small deli located just around the corner from the Four Seasons Ten Trinity, Double Tree London Tower and Novotel. When you walk in you are greeted like you are a cousin. Charming gentlemen ready to make you a great strong coffee from an espresso machine. Try the breakfast sandwich with Cumberland sausage and egg. Reasonable prices and nice sandwiches and deli fare to walk away. Great alternative to some tourist traps restaurants near London Tower. Opens early and closes at 3PM. Purely walkaway with no tables. But parks and oth...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
