"Hubby and I on Monday 17th August. A very unwelcoming older man at til. We sat at a table inside which had a notice in it that it had been sanitised and cleaned so we felt reasonably safe. Whilst we were drinking our coffee (from paper cups) three lots of people left their tables and other customers came in and sat at these three tables one of which was a table for four. Not once did anyone clean or sanitise any of those tables. Yet, those signs just sat on the tables to say they had been done. A young girl was standing around doing nothing. She just stood leaning on a counter near to the toilet. The man at the til was grumpy with people coming in. Our coffee was hot so no complaints there but will never go back while this virus is around. Obviously, our table had probably not been cleaned in between customers either. I did remove the sign from the table as I left. Beware. This is not a safe environment at the moment."

Visited on a regular basis prior to lockdown, use to have meetings here as it was nice and quiet upstairs, range of hot drinks, all very nice and the carrot cake is the best I’ve had, thank you!

Popped in for drinks cake at the weekend. Drinks were ok, cake very dry inedible. I returned it was issued a refund for the cake, very begrudgingly. Staff certainly need some customer care training.

Great breakfast or coffee/cake spot. Nice inside, some tables outside in the sun as well (morning). Full English is £5.99. Cakes/cookies are superb, coffee is good, staff are lovely. Prices very reasonable. Wish we lived closer!

Lovely cafe in the picturesque centre of Hertford. Lots of choice for breakfast/ brunch and lunch and lovely selection of cakes and pastries, all good value. Super helpful staff, tasty food and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend. Speisekarte ansehen

Our second visit to Bebo in Hertford in two weeks and very disappointed both times with food, we eat regularly in Bebo in Welwyn Garden City where food is exceptional and the restaurant is fully fully stocked with lots of choice. Would not recommend Hertford at all.

Very disappointed at the overall attitude of the member of staff 'serving ' us on arrival. He clearly was not having a good morning or possibly week. Rude as we entered, demanded the number from the menu board not the details, told (not asked) us to scan the track trace app. Told us to socially distance. Clearly we were kids and not adults in his eyes. We were very accommodating but his overall attitude inevitably left us angry and we decided to obtain a refund and leave. Only then did he apologise under his breath but the damage was done. Won 't be visiting here again.

I came here with some friends for lunch and we had a lovely time and the food was great. The manager was working hard to make sure he was adhering to the covid 19 rules which some customers seemed to not appreciate this and left. He is just doing his job to keep his customers safe and keep the business going in this difficult time and we actually saw some customers verbally abusing him which is not fair for a manager just doing his job. My advice to Bebo is raise your game and raise it fast. In the current climate where people have less disposable income people will just vote with their feet and go elsewhere. It used to be a nice place to go for a light lunch and the building is lovely. But serving up anaemic looking toastie’s that are warm on the outside but cold in the middle followed by an anaemic looking panini (after I complained) along with stale crisps is not going to get you repeat custom. And if people do justifiably complain please take it on board, don’t challenge them and certainly don’t talk about the complaint loudly for the customer to hear while upstairs. Shocking.

Dreadful cakes dreadful atmosphere! Ordered 3 cakes and 3 teas, Victoria sponge was dry and all the filling had seeped into the sponge! Looked like it had been sitting on the counter for weeks. We asked to swap and exchanged for Biscotti Cheesecake, honesty not much better, very artificial, not fresh or home made, after eating my daughter had stomach cramps and then an upset stomach! The Bakewell was dry and tasteless, not good at all ! Asked for 3 teas, gave enough for 2.5 teas so had to go back for water top up and needless to say 1 weak tea as watered down! An awful venue, how hard is it to provide fresh cakes, 3 full teas!!!! Don’t waste your time or your hard earned money!!!!
