"We booked this restaurant for our Wedding Anniversary dinner after reading the complementary reviews. Having sat down we ordered drinks and perused the menu and surprised that they didn’t offer a set menu, which is first for me eating in a Thai restaurant, not that we would of ordered it but it would have been nice to have the choice. We went for the mixed platter starter for 2, Chicken pad Thai, crispy chilli beef, prawn Pad king and Thai fragrant rice for mains. The mixed platter for 2 was delicious although clearing the plates away whilst I was still eating my last mouthful was inappropriate. On eating the main course I found a small inedible item in my mouth which I initially thought was a filling as it was metal however on checking this was not the case so it had to be in one of the dishes. During our main course we was not asked how our meal was so I advised my findings when we finished to be told it wasn’t metal but a burnt piece of the crispy chilli beef which was laughable and insulting. As it was our anniversary dinner I did not pursue this further. We ordered 2 Irish Coffees to finish which were very bitter as there was no sugar added and the cream was out of a can and not poured over the back of a spoon as it should be. We got the bill £99 including service and left. Our booking was for 7 o’clock and we left at 8.10. This was supposed to be a lovely, un rushed celebratory evening eating great food however it was a rushed, service less experience with average at best food. The Salah Thai in Ware is far superior in all aspects which we will go to for our next Thai meal and not here. Thank you Old Siam for ruining our Wedding Anniversary!"

"We have been to this local restaurant a few times before and everything was good but unfortunately it was very different this time. Firstly we had to stand and wait, even though we had booked. It would have been nice to be offered a drink. Once seated I ordered a tuna steak which came with a Sicilian dressing and oregano chips and I asked for it to be cooked medium. When I tasted the tuna it was extremely dry and there was no sign of pinkness. I spoke to the waiter and he took it to the chef. He then came back with the tuna and said that the chef said it was medium! I again said that it was extremely dry. After more discussion he said they would do another one for me. I was happy with this. Around 5 minutes later another gentleman, who I think is the owner, came and it soon became clear that another tuna steak was not being prepared! He again said that the steak was medium and offered to bring me a raw one if I wasn’t happy with medium!! He was clearly annoyed and although he offered to make me something else, I felt very uncomfortable with his manner, and decided against this. He didn’t charge us for the tuna. On leaving, I went up to the owner just to say that we had been to the restaurant many times before and it was always good so this time was a shame however his response was very defensive and the conversation turned quite nasty. At the end he more or less threw us out his restaurant! Regardless of whether he agreed that the tuna steak was cooked correctly this is really no way to treat customers. Needless to say, we will never return."
