"We had a fabulous meal. We booked in main because of the google reviews which were spot on. The menu choices are small which is perfect for me as too much choice makes it so difficult to actually choose. There were four of us and two small dogs! We had all three courses and all the food was beyond excellent. The star of the menu was the fillet steak which was the best my father in law had ever had and he’s in his seventies! The lovely front of house staff are so welcoming. We will be returning. "It may not have been the best day to visit, as it was pouring rain outside. The Tredrea is a large venue, and it was quite chilly inside; it seemed difficult to keep warm. We were seated by windows overlooking the beach, which looked like they could use some maintenance, as the rubber seals were peeling off. The food we ordered came out promptly, and the portions were generous; however, the chips tasted as though they had been reheated or fried in oil that was overdue for a change. It was also off-putting to see staff taking breaks while smoking nearby. The Tredrea is much more enjoyable in the Spring and Summer months when outdoor seating is available. Having visited The Tredrea several times over the years, we felt that it has not maintained the same quality it once had, which is disappointing to share. That's just our perspective."

"We were lucky enough to have our wedding at this incredible hotel. The day was really perfect, we had great communication from the events team from initial booking to leading up to our day. Helping us create a vision, plans and ideas of what we wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a romantic chilled wedding. The hotel itself is STUNNING, the spa is great and food so delicious. We will be coming back for many anniversaries."

"We were looking for somewhere to eat on way back from Wadebridge and stumbled upon this garden centre. We arrived at 12pm and there was a queue of people waiting for tables both reserved and not. We had the dog so were a little worried we would not get in, however, we were seated in the last unreserved table. The set up is you pay for your food and are given a ticket to then go to the carvery and get your food, drinks are brought to the table. The food was amazing and a brilliant selection of meat (beef, pork, gammon and turkey) and so many vegetables. Puddings were also very good. It was slightly on the pricey side but you got a very good meal for your money. Would recommend."

"My family and I were staying in St Merryn and decided to make a reservation for dinner at a restaurant. Although we understand that Saturday evenings can be busy, we were disappointed with the overall experience considering the price we paid. The staff were friendly and our drinks were served promptly. However, there were some issues with the timing of our food. One of the starters my husband ordered for his main course took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive, and our mains took nearly two hours to be served. There was no apology for the long wait when the food finally came out. We usually avoid complaining and try to go with the flow, but the quality of the cote de boeuf was poor, with a lot of fat and tough meat that was under seasoned. The hake and potatoes were enjoyable, but the sauce had an overwhelming amount of garlic in it. We requested to have the leftover beef packaged for our dogs, but were later informed that it had been thrown away. Despite the waiter's apologies, we left feeling disappointed with the entire dining experience. It was a shame because we had initially planned to dine there again during the rest of our holiday."
