"We ordered our drinks together with food. The waitress bought us our coffee's, but 20 mins later after we had drank our coffee's we still had not received our food. The waitress who took our order walked by our table a few times, so she could see we were still waiting for our food. I would have expected the waitress to say something like, sorry for the delay, or maybe explain why we were still waiting, or maybe your food is coming next. We noticed that other people were also waiting for their food, so we were not the only one's getting fed up of waiting. The staff were not particularly friendly or talkative, the table was very sticky, and the surroundings very bland. Nothing like it used to be. We decided to simply pay for our coffee's cancel our food, and won't be going again."

The restaurant offers delicious homemade gluten-free scones and a choice of gluten-free brown or white bread. The staff is friendly and provides great service.

Ordered sausage egg and chips. Waited 3/4hr to be presented with lace curtain egg with hard yolk, sausages solid, overcooked chips. Not been there for some years used to be so good. So disappointed never go again. They did refund the meal after I complained.

We dropped into bookmark on an impromptu visit to spalding after noticing there was a cafe on site. I ordered a small breakfast and my wife a bacon and egg roll. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and I can say in all honesty it was the best cooked breakfast I've had in a long time, it was wonderful

Bookmark is THE best bookshop in the world. Located in my husbands hometown, we return here every time we visit our family. My daughters talk about bookmark during the year, always excited to return for a browse through the books and wonderful food in their cafe. I’ve been an avid fan for years and it never disappoints. We typically dine at The Loft, but it was closed today so we decided to try this place instead. A few years ago, it was popular and lovely, but today it was very quiet. I ordered a jacket potato, but it was lukewarm and all the fillings were thrown on top without butter. I prefer to add my own fillings and would have liked them served on the side. The coleslaw was not homemade and not tasty. My partner had a full breakfast which was also lukewarm and unappetizing. The total cost for our meal, including 2 drinks, was £25. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

We have been coming here for a number of years as it used to be a little hidden gem of a lovely cafe. Our visit today was very disappointing, the menu has completely changed and is now very basic and overpriced. I had a bacon Brie and cranberry panini and was amazed to find one lonely piece of bacon and a slither of cheese! It was more like a jam sandwich! The salad was mostly hard lettuce stems I even won the jackpot and got the middle stalk that is usually discarded! along with half a tiny cherry tomato. It is safe to say we will not be returning anytime soon and wouldn’t recommend this cafe anymore.

"We've been here a couple of times before and it's been great, however our latest visit was not a great experience. Portions were small, presentation wasn't anything special, looked like meals I could of in nocked up myself as a quick tea at home, nothing special at all, certainly didn't look like a restaurant dining experience. Also, never come across a restaurant that stipulates on the menu if you want steak they need 48 hours notice! And even if they do, they should tell people when they book in as we had 2 of our party very disappointed on the night. The whole dining experience was also ruined by a group of loud, drunk locals sitting in the dining area and talking and swearing at the top of their voices so we couldn't even hear ourselves having a conversation. If people have paid for a dining experience no matter how bad that was, they should not have to put up with a table full of loud, swearing locals who were just there for the drink, keep the two things separate! Really dark and dingy in the restaurant, we struggled to read the menu due to how badly lit it was. The waitress started the evening by telling us what wasn't available off the menu, which in itself seemed odd at the beginning of the weekend to of already run out of so much. Needless to say this one bad experience overshadows previous good ones, it looks like the place has gone down hill, we won't be back! Must say though this is by no means a reflection of the staff they were lovely, it's on the owners!"

"The food was very tasty and well cooked. The staff are pleasant and obliging, service was efficient. The only downside was no lights in toilets, presumed they would activate, but didn’t. Although the radiators were on, it was quite chilly in there. We would perhaps return when the weather improves and hope that the lights are working then. All in all a good experience."

"Had a look through some of the lesser positive feedbacks and have to chuckle. Went there for lunch today. It's often very busy and you can't always get a table. The reason a place is busy is because it's good. No one queues for rubbish. Managed to get a table straightaway 11.48) . Pleasantly greeted and pointed to the table. How many places actually take your order nowadays. So refreshing. Order taken and a few minutes later our drinks arrived. No reading a menuboard under pressure. No stacking food on trays like a juggling act, sliding along a rail. No waiting for your drink while your dinner is slowly going cold only to find the person in front has ordered three frappecappychismolatteamerocanos with choc sprinkles and spacedust! I ordered the ploughman's. Three decent chunks of cheese, half baguette, apple, salad, pork pie slice, Coleslaw homemade) chutney, grapes, pickled onions and celery. All excellent except celery, which is spawn of the devil in my opinion) I love a ploughman's and this is right up there with the best. I wanted to try their cake but was too full, so we took a slice home for later. Malteser cake was lovely and obviously home made one slice more than enough for two unless you need your clothes to fit you better) Didn't need an evening meal I hasten to add. Great service, home made food, very reasonably priced. What else do you want? Thoroughly enjoyed it. Very rare nowadays . Thank you."

"This is a very mixed review. The food at Rabia 's is excellent and we 've dined there before. But we will never go again. The payment and leaving processes at the end of the evening was ugly and unacceptable. It turned what had been a lovely dining experience into a poor one, one that I will long remember, but not at all in a good way. First, I noticed a significant difference between the itemized bill they gave us at the end of the meal and the credit card voucher that they process. There was no explanation, but when I asked (after waiting several minutes to get the server to come over, even though there were few customers at the time), I was told it was a 4% 'credit card fee. ' I 've never had this at another restaurant and it was not stated either on their website or even on the credit card voucher. Second, and even more costly, when we got to our car at the Haymarket (Parcel 7) Garage, they said our parking slip was NOT validated, even though staff of Rabia 's had told us twice that it was. I tried to call the restaurant that we 'd only left 10 minutes before and just got put into their voicemail. Again, they were not at all crowded. When I talked to the manager the next day, she denied any responsibility for anything. Her attitude was an immediate 'not my problem, ' to everything we discussed. Too bad. A restaurant with such an unwelcoming attitude will not last long."
