"Absolutely loved it. Daddy daycare for me today so decided to treat the kids. We were given quite a few options for seats inside and out. The lady was very polite and helpful when my youngest daughter had broken the crayons and wanted some more! Older kids were keen on the pizza and unlimited refills and didn't leave any behind! Don't usually have desert out but with persuasion from the kids we had to I had sticky toffee pudding (well pudding as kid's had my toffee when I went to the loo )and the kid's tried the Whip'd Ice Cream Station and loved it... Fantastic memories were made there today and just had to say a big thank you to the team for the amazing service, food which resulted in an amazing family experience"

Hi excellent location, friendly place. You can even charge your electric car. Very handy for a quick dip in the sandy Goodrington beach.

I just ate the best salate I've ever had in my life. absolutely superb in my humble opinion. huhn and specksalat .and I had coleslaw as side. it was beautiful. I even have to shake the hand of the cook. And told him how great I thought it was.

very much improved service and food quality. the place was painted and looks much better. twice in this holiday we were there and found it was much better than for years. I remember that it was about 15 years ago and it was brilliant, but went downhill. we hope that the improvements will continue and rebuild what it was earlier.

I booked asking for a cosy spot as it was my wedding anniversary and we were visiting from another county. The staff left us a card and bottle of prosecco which was so incredibly touching! The food was wonderful, I had a chicken salad and it was so large (in a good way! that I couldn't finish it, the chicken was perfectly cooked. I'll be back soon in the daytime so I can make use of that wonderful view properly!

I brought my family down for dinner last night for my son's birthday we had a lovely evening. It was really busy they were short staffed but all the staff still had smiles on their faces the service was wonderful. Not much of a wait on food considering how busy it was the food was lovely too. Steaks cooked perfectly, salads were really fresh our 4 year old loved the whippy ice cream, so many yummy toppings! Thank you all for a wonderful evening

Always doubtful about pub chains, but this was fabulous. My wife and sister in the law had Sampi, muddy peas and skin on chips that tasted fantastic. I ordered a mixed grill worried that the meat undercooked / overcooked, but WOW, everything was perfect, delicate, tasteful and spot on. After almost 50 years of food, this was the best ever mixed grill I ever had. The drinks were also on site. Thanks to Hayley and the staff. Can't wait to get back to Paignton and visit The Inn on the Quay.

"From the off, everything was bang on point. The warmth of the welcome, being taken straight to our table and offered water and an aperitif promptly. We, a party of three, opted for the set lunch, which offers very good value for money. £29.50 for two courses, £35 for three, with two options for each course. Two of us opted for the baked Roscoff onion with pearl barley. Simple ingredients but beautifully cooked with a truly sublime brown onion sauce of such intensity, it lifted an already lovely plate of food to another level. The other person had the ponzu cured mackerel which she pronounced lovely but she had serious food envy over the onion dish. The main courses were grilled hake, which again was sauced to perfection and a grilled bavette with a vegetable medley and a pea? puree and a meat jus. We added a small dish of dauphinois at £5 which complimented everything very well. We drank a good and reasonably priced Rioja Blanco. No room for dessert sadly. This restaurant is not cheap but there is a difference between cost and value and The Elephant offers very good value with the set lunch; it allows you to sample really very good cooking at a price that will not break the bank. The normal a la carte menu is around double the price but on looking at what this offered, I would say that it again offers good value for money, being a step up in choice with more expensive ingredients. This is a serious restaurant. Go there. You will not be disappointed."
