"I have visited this restaurant on two separate occasions. The first was as a couple, we ordered the sharing steak platter which was delicious and plenty full. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were tasty. We didn’t order starters as we were going to pot for a dessert however we were too full for anything more. I had the house wine (white) which was very nice. The restaurant wasn’t too full and the atmosphere was warm and the staff very friendly and attentive. The second visit was with family(4). We all ordered individually (February meal deal) and no one was disappointed with the food or service. We had a selection of starters, mains and desserts. Again, the atmosphere was good and the staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant is suitable for all ages and occasions."

"I had a wonderful time at this pub. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Ian, the owner, was fantastic to chat with and was great with the kids, even teaching them some amazing magic tricks! His daughter, Steph, was just as delightful to be around, and we ended up sitting with them for the entire afternoon and evening. We initially just dropped in for a quick drink, but the atmosphere, the people, and the food were so excellent that we decided to stay for a meal. A big thank you to everyone—Neil, Kate, Chase, Steve, Becky, Tyler, and Chester. Also, thanks for the cards!"

"We visited on a Sunday around 1 PM and were not disappointed at all. We sat outside in the marquee, and the two young ladies who served us were fantastic – very helpful and hardworking. The food was excellent; we had a burger, two pizzas, garlic bread, and chips, and everything was delicious. The children had a great time playing football outside. It’s a lovely pub, and I will definitely be returning."

"I have been unsure whether to post this review because it was a personal experience and not the quality of the food as such. We were a large table of 14 adults and had chosen our starters and mains. I chose the the tofu starter followed by a mock duck dish. Starter was lovely and tasty. When the mains came out I was given my dish with the server telling me it was mock duck. Everyone else was receiving their meals and we all started eating. After approximately maybe 20 minutes the waitress came over and said she was sorry but I had been given the real duck and NOT the mock duck! I have not eaten meat for over 33 years, since I was 13, so this was extremely upsetting and shocking to me. I had eaten over half of this meal!! They were very apologetic but this should never have happened, or even been possible to happen in the first place! As I said I haven’t eaten meat in so long I had no real recollection of the taste or texture (I ate very little meat before giving it up for vegetarianism) so I assumed I was eating a plant based mock duck meal. I have to admit I was not keen on what I was eating but did not for a second think I had been given a meat meal, I just thought it wasn’t something I’d not have again. This was genuinely really upsetting and I’m still shocked at how it could even happen. I was not told if it was a chef error or server error but I sincerely hope it wasn’t a kitchen error as I would hope they strongly follow allergy processes within the kitchen which would mean separate utensils, pans and preparation areas as well as colour coded handles etc A very small but easy thing to do would be to serve all vegetarian/vegan dishes on different shaped plates as I’ve seen in other restaurants. For example, if all meals are served on round white plates it would be an option to serve vegetarian dishes on square white plates to avoid confusion from the kitchen to serving staff"

"Oh how the great fall.. This used to be our “go-to” pub for Sunday roast, so much that we would recommend it to everyone. we came yesterday (Sunday the 20th of November) and it was a completely different pub from the last time we visited. The service was incredibly slow and multiple times we felt as though we had been forgotten, long gaps between courses, dishes getting forgotten and drinks orders not being taken. Such a shame, as the food is still as tasty as ever. But you have to wait an extremely long time to get it. Due to the slow service we found it easier to order drinks from the bar directly, meaning conversation was broken. Staff appeared to not know the room plan and we had multiple dishes arrive at our table and then swiftly get removed and put on other neighbouring tables instead. The quickest service we recieved was when we asked for the bill, which arrived in seconds, although again it was for the wrong table. Overall it felt embarrassing that we had recommended the pub and invited family over for a meal, yesterday left us with a sour taste in our mouths. The manager was very apologetic but for saying we spent approximately £200 in total the service really let it down. Unfortunately we won’t be returning again. We wish the pub well and hope that it’s just a temporary issue."
