"Very, very good food. Full of flavour due to great ues of seasonings and spices. Only one problem was my steak was slightly overcooked but that was overshadowed by the pure brilliance of the pate. The pate was of a perfect consistency and came with some immaculate bread which worked together well with the pate. The dessert I have to say was the best part of the great experience with a melting in the middle brownie and spectacular ice cream to go with it. Pure delight. And not to forget to mention the service. Very polite, well mannered and quick delivery. It was just spot on. Overall the meal was the best I had had in a while. Miniscule problems with parking and a very long walk to get there. It was worth the walk though."

it was great. the croque monsieur is absolutely delicious. we had the afternoon tea that came with a great selection of cake choices of hot tees. worth a visit. the personal is really politely helpful.

Called to change the time of my online booking and they had no idea that I had booked a table, you need to sort this computer system out asap. Didn't feel very special for my birthday and will not be returning for quite sometime.

We had a voucher for 50% off the price of a main meal in January at Cafe Rouge which made it very good value. The restaurant in Hertford is cosy and warm with a lively atmosphere without being too busy. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was good.

We have been going to Cafe Rouge for years. The staff are always friendly, the food is very good and the service very good. We sometimes use our Tesco vouchers, we can go on a Saturday night, which make it good value and it is our favourite chain restaurant in Hertford.

Mother's Day at this restaurant was a truly special experience. The staff went above and beyond to make every mother feel welcomed and appreciated. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for celebrating with loved ones. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

Very disappointed,!!! have had some nice evenings in other Cafe Rouge establishments . Starters( prawns) all dried up. Crab and avocado mousse tasteless . Bouillabaisse, main, also very dry as if it ad been stewing ages, no liquor to dip bread in. Long wait between courses. £10 was taken off of the bill to compensate for our long wait. Very expensive for mediocre food so would not visit again.

We love Cafe Rouge. It's authentic and reminds us of a café in Montmartre. The food is just what you would expect from a French restaurant - the menu is nice, the dishes are well-prepared, cooked and served. Even though it was busy on Mother's Day, the service was quick. The location in Hertford is convenient, with a few tables set on the edge of a small square. We had a great time and plan to return in a couple of weeks to celebrate our anniversary.
