"We booked a table at cafe rouge as we had tickets for the theatre nearby. We go to cafe rouge on a regular basis and this was our worst experience by far. The venue itself was nice, lots of glass windows and the usual cafe rouge decor. We ordered bread and olives to start, which were great, but we had issues with the main and pudding courses. We had both ordered steaks to be cooked medium, but when they arrived one was perfect and the other was very well done. They replaced it without a fuss however my partner had finished her meal before my replacement arrived. The replacement was good, but there was no reflection in the bill that we had come out for a meal together and ended up eating alone. We ordered pudding, creme brûlée and chocolate fondant. The chocolate fondant was nothing special, a little dry, but the creme brûlée was awful. The crunchy top had not been made by putting on sugar and then caramelising it; instead they had made caramel in a pan and poured it on. This made it very thick and hard to eat and rather unenjoyable. The service was okay, but we felt the manager was rather inappropriately dressed in a short skirt and sparkly trainers!"

Very welcoming staff who looked after us very well. We visited for a pre-theatre meal and it was served promptly without being rushed. Always good value and this particular Café Rouge is in a great location for the theatre.

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. They have a good discount available if you search for a coupon code on Google. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they want you to have a great dining experience there. The outdoor seating is also a nice option. Speisekarte ansehen

Unfortunately our reservation was lost despite calling them to confirm half an hour before hand. I had to show them the email confirmation before anyone would seat us dispute not being particularly busy. They forgot to bring a childs menu and they forgot the sauces with our meals (not for the first time). Service was slow and we had 4 different servers. This seems to be typical service unfortunately. However, the food was lovely as always.

It was certainly an experience. Food was lukewarm, it took an hour from arrival before any food turned up, additional items ordered from the menu did not arrive, service was non existent throughout and despite asking for the dessert menu, 25 minutes later we were still waiting. Our waitress was apologetic but the manager avoided conflict and didn't come over to apologise. Previously our visits there have been excellent but for now we won't be returning for a while and I would recommend avoiding at all costs, especially on a Saturday night!
