7 of us ate dinner here for a birthday dinner. The staff were really accommodating and looked after us well all evening. The food was exceptional, we each ordered a different starter main and everyone loved their dishes. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I travelled from Cotswolds to see my sister close by. Chose this hotel as it was very central for us. Food was amazing at dinner and breakfast and service was excellent. Rooms clean and cosy. Will come and stay again. B and J Wheeler

I was under the impression that my wife was taking out for lunch, following my 70th birthday the day before, but I was shocked to find a full-on party had been arranged for me, attended by family and friends, many of whom had travelled from overseas. The hall, in which the party was held, was fabulous, as were the decorations and buffet. A great day and what a surprise!

First time back since the change of ownership on recommendation of ladies from the Cholal Society never doubt ladies of a certain age when it comes to dining! Same professional staff, menu a bit different from the average, my brisket in peppercorn sauce an absolute slab and melt in the mouth. Wrong side of the railway crossing, but I 'm always amazed it isn 't better frequented. Always a good choice.

Stayed overnight following an afternoon party. The party for 80) was catered for very well with a good selection to eat. Drink choices of both wines and beers was extensive. Our room was very comfortable with a large bed as requested) with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good either Continental or Full English we had one of each). A very good selection/choice. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

I had booked this specifically because their website 4 days previousl said they were serving roast lamb that Sunday. We took drinks to the table, now I know why. Not only did we wait ages for somebody to take our order which we had decided the items that we wanted to order were not there and decided to leave, when I went to pay for the drinks they wanted £10 for the large glass of wine and £4.70 for the shandy. A total rip off and the ambience was unfriendly and chaotic.

We visited The Carre Arms last evening for a meal. We were slightly apprehensive as it has recently undergone a change of ownership but we needn't have worried. We were welcomed into the bar, ordered our drinks and were shown politely to our table. The service throughout was excellent. All of our meals were well presented, the portion size was good and the food was delicious. We would recommend the blade of beef, the pork loin steaks in stilton sauce, the seafood linguine and the Mongolian chicken. The prices were very reasonable too. If you haven't tried it yet for an evening meal, you really should!

The kitchen closed at 6 luckily, after a very long day, I arrived at 8.45 and was able to order a very nice haddock and chips before it closed. Friendly and helpful staff and a relaxing atmosphere added to my enjoyment of a very pleasant meal and a couple of beers. My trip was all a bit adhoc, and I was booked in to stay somewhere else that had no catering, so when I finished my meal, I went off there to bed but returned for breakfast. Breakfast was very good, Lincolnshire sausages are the beast. Again, the staff were helpful and welcoming, the cost £7.50, was reasonable. Next time, I need to stay here.

Have visted frequently for 15 years, the food is always excellent and the service impeccable. The roast dinners are amazing, beef was cooked perfectly, home made giant yorkshire pudding was lovely, great roast potatoes and vegtables, the gravy is so good we always get an extra jug. Portion sizes are generous and excellent value for money. The fish and chips are fantastic. Staff always friendly, attentative and will do anything to ensure you have a great time. Childrens food was also lovely. They change the menu up every so often to keep it lively, and everything feels very homemade, fresh and delicious. What a gem of a place, its one of the best places to eat in Sleaford and we feel so lucky...
