"Lovely to find this appealing wee village cafe open and welcoming on a Sunday. We were looking for a light lunch after a long walk in this lovely area which, to be fair, has very little in the way of cafes and settlements, and even fewer places open on a Sunday. Sandwiches with salads fresh, tasty ingredients hit the spot. Interesting range of different scones which were also fresh and and not dry like so many further south. We chose the strawberry scone. Being from the other side of the world, we did not know what an irn bru scone was (despite the best efforts of the lovely wait staff to explain what flavour this “drink” was) but enjoyed seeing the variety of different scones on offer. Good service, a range of choices to eat in or take out and a we got a car park right outside. Clean toilet to the rear and a number of other items for sale."

We found this place by accident during a stop on our journey from Ardrossan to Dumfries. It's a lovely little place with a genuinely warm welcome and great food. A wide selection of sandwiches, snacks, drinks and cakes was available and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We had been looking for somewhere to eat for a good while when we came upon this hidden gem. Food was amazing and hot, a proper mug of coffee instead of a shallow cup, owner very attentive. Nice cafe bought some home made marmalade and lime curd delicious. Would we go back here again absolutely.

Make sure to check out this charming tearoom in the village of Carsphairn, located on a scenic road route (A713) through the hills of Galloway and Ayrshire. We had a delightful lunch of freshly made sandwiches and salad, perfect for our journey. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. Speisekarte ansehen

I have passed by this tearoom numerous times on my way to and from my static caravan. Recently, I discovered that they offer takeaway options. I ordered a delicious bacon roll, a tasty toasty, and a warming tomato and chilli soup for two. The best part was that they delivered the food right to my car! And all of this cost me less than ten pounds. I will definitely be going back today.

Stopped off on a road trip in need of refreshments. Lovely cafe, clean and we very impressed at the range of food on offer to eat in or take away. We ate lunch, delicious chicken burger with great chips and salad with the best onion rings. Husband went for the chilli haggis burger which he was very impressed with. Very good value. Friendly staff. Pleased to see good covid measures in place

This restaurant is the perfect place to stop for coffee or lunch when in the area. A group of us bikers stopped here for lunch and sat outside in the garden area. The food was delicious and the staff were all very friendly. The prices are very reasonable. Just keep in mind that they are closed on Wednesdays (which we unfortunately found out the hard way when we tried to visit on a Wednesday). Speisekarte ansehen

Stopped at the Carsphairn Tearoom for late breakfast on our way from Yorkshire to South Ayrshire. Nice clean tidy tearoom with good breakfast menu very reasonably priced. Good size portions of Full Scottish Breakfast and Eggy Bread with Bacon and maple syrup and a handsome mug of tea. We took away home made scones, omg, best scones ever. Soft, full of taste (lemon and lavender for me and fruit for my daughter) and lovely slight crunch to the outside. Also a slice of Crunchie chocolate pie, again just delicious.

My wife I stopped here for a quick lunch and were disappointed that we had not found the place before now!, from the warm greeting when we arrived and the excellent food, we were delighted at the peaceful welcoming surroundings. Food wise I had a toasted sandwich and my wife had a toasted wrap from the varied and delicious looking menu, with a choice for indoor or Garden seating the place was quiet and comfortable with excellent and clean toilet facilities. There are also small original trinkets and gifts available to purchase, we bought a delightful small cute wooden 'duck ' for our young granddaughter and we know she will love to see it. All in all an excellent place to stop when visiting...

"Visiting Port Patrick again today we thought we would try a new place to eat. We normally eat at the same place here but today with chose the Crown Hotel. When you walk into the crown you see how old it is and I must admit it looks quant but a little dated. After finding a seat and deciding what to eat I went to the bar to order food and drinks. The service from the member of staff were pleasant and welcoming. We ordered 2 cokes and 2 stake and ale in a pudding one with chips and one with baby potatoes. We were charged a few pence short of £39 and given 2 cans of coke and asked would we like a glass with them? £4.80 for 2 cans of coke) Going back to the table I sat down and within less than 5 minutes our food was there on our table. I always worry when the food is so quick as I never feel it properly prepared fresh for you and when you are paying £17 a meal you at least want something fresh-ish. WHAT REALLY ANNOYED ME was while we were eating our food people were bringing dogs into the bar past our table to talk to a guy sat next to us. Chatting away these dogs were just sat by our feet as we ate. No one seemed to care about these dogs brushing up against people eating a meal. The food The baby potatoes were ok, the pudding was a frozen one you would get from a supermarket, the veg was hard, the meat was dry and bland and the gravy tasteless. I would say this food was a preprepared meal and just placed into a microwave. I don’t like to be so blunt in my reviews as this is always someone’s business and livelihood was are talking about, but this really was that bad. The service during the meal was none existent. When the waitress came to take our plates she did not seem surprised when I complained about our food, saying only I’ll pass it on. No apologies or anything. Even with me saying the food was especially the veg was disgusting. It was like water off a ducks back. Will I eat here again NO sadly the service and the food was very poor."

"For some reason I can not reply to your answer. Sadly you are absolutely wrong in everything you have stated, I find your tactic of attacking people who give less than 5 star reviews. I am not going to try to defend myself, as I stand by everything I said. I have made an appointment to see a solicitor about your untruthful comments. I would really of liked to put a good review up, however, I would not recommend this hovel to my worst enemy. Firstly the room was so small, and tatty, extremely dated with an alarm clock, which surely has been taken from a chalet from Pontins in the 1970s, that even the amazing view could not compensate. There was dog meat/food on the carpet, and I assume ash. When I went to look for someone to let them know, there was no one about. The bathroom was not fit for purpose, one as it was a converted cupboard, and the notice in the room explaining that the steam from the shower which was cracked set off the sensitive smoke alarm, so you could not even have a shower. Then when we went for breakfast, after waiting for 40 minutes for a breakfast which was a 1 sausage, a piece of streaky bacon, uncooked tomatoes and mushrooms, haggis, b pudding and beans. When I went to complain about this on the way out, I had the pleasure of speaking to someone called Donna, who was at best obnoxious, and as unhelpful as it was someone else 's fault, I quote I don 't clean the rooms, I don 't cook the breakfast . I would rather sleep in a tent than give money to this place, please look elsewhere, unless you want to feel as though you are being ripped off. In response to your reply I thankyou for it. I do not deny that I was irate, and if she cried, I feel terrible about that but I have also left things out, like the denial of the previous evenings attempt with the same lady about the state of the room, however I stand by everything I said, As you are true to form, as it never ever seems to be your fault, if you look at the previous low reviews, it is always someone else 's fault. Oh by the way breakfast took 40 minutes, and as you were not there, maybe you can check CCTV and see that the uncooked food was left, as was the haggis, however the toast provided was superb. I applaud your defense of your staff, I truly do. Hopefully you can maybe if you get another less than favourable review, see that it is the same points over and over again, and try to address them points, just a thought. Thanks again for your reply below, and I stand by everything I said, and truly can 't be bothered dissecting your reply, one slight point, I have witnesses about the night before, so I take with a pinch of salt, your comments"

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
