Bad experience at pub with new Landlords. Miserable landlady in clown's trousers! Husband just lurking at back of bar awaiting his next instructions. Go at your peril! Very good singer but couldnt be enjoyed fully due to dull Landlady.

Ignore the 2 negative reviews the first one relates to the previous owners and the 2nd is definitely not our experience as regular customers. The new owners have already made loads of improvements. The pub is cleaner, friendlier and much more welcoming in every way. A good proper local with plenty of plans for next year.

The service was lacking. We waited a long time for our food and there were no other customers around. We also waited patiently to be served at the bar. During our last visit, we experienced a similar wait for our food, even though there were no other customers waiting. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning. It's a shame because the restaurant has a nice outdoor space.

New owners are welcoming friendly have done a great job of cleaning tidying the place up. Although they’ve only been there a few months they have already had some great bands other events on have started revamping the garden for the summer. Ale is well kept they always have Harveys Best plus a changing second ale. Perfect place to pop in for a pint if you are using the Downslink.

Popped in here for a drink and some food on a Sunday and was met with a rather icy and unfriendly reception. Only food available was a BBQ, quote If you don 't want it suggest you go elsewhere which I did. Not a great welcome and one which I 'll not receive again as I won 't go back. Fortunately there 's a lot of other more friendly establishments not more than 10 minutes walk away.

So I haven’t been to this pub for a long time and we decided to visit on an off chance just for a drink.we parked on the road no double lines and not blocking any vehicles, delivery or other wise. When we went into the establishment we were immediately bark at by the lady behind the bar saying you can’t park there. Not a nice welcome. So we went back to our car and left. I can firmly say we won’t be returning.

We confess to not eating there but we observed that the food was freshly prepared to order, was well presented and looked appetising. Our visit was at lunch time mid week and in the middle of a country walk. Having just had a picnic we dropped in for a drink. We received a warm welcome from the locals and the land lady who gave every impression of caring about the service that she offers. We look forward to visiting again and on a rainy day would not hesitate to eat there.

Don't pay attention to any negative comments about this pub, Lorraine Mick has truly transformed the place! We have visited multiple times and always been greeted by friendly bar staff, a wide variety of drinks (including delicious flavored gins), and tasty basket meals perfect for a quick bite or to feed hungry children. They also host fantastic events like live music, bingo, and quiz nights. I can't wait for their upcoming karaoke night! Check out The Old Railway (formerly The Cat and Canary), you won't be disappointed!

I moved to the area 6 years ago and never visited this bar until the current landlady took over. The improvements that have been made are amazing! The beer is fresh and delicious, the lagers are clean and crisp, and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. There is a great garden for kids to play in and a wonderful vibe throughout. I recommended this bar to a friend for a birthday party and it was a fantastic day filled with music, laughter, and fun for everyone. This pub has become a valued part of our community and a great addition to Henfield. It is in a fantastic location right on the South Downs link. Stop by and give it a try, it comes highly recommended!
