Great fresh oysters in a really relaxed atmosphere. The garden is gorgeous it faces out on to the bay and the staff are cool. A great spot for an easy, delicious and inexpensive lunch.

We stopped in for a late night dinner. This restaurant is well known for its award winning oysters and also has a wide range of other seafood and other dishes. The wine list is quite extensive and the servers were excellent. A bit on the...pricey side but didn’t the food didn’t disappoint.

The best oysters I became addicted. You can sit inside or outside in the market area. The oysters are farm raised by the owner Boulan. They are bright fresh fresh and briney. At first they seem too salty and then you squeeze more lemon juice...and you just want more. Plus the pork dish that must accompany oysters and the salted Bordier butter on crisp fresh baguette. Heaven!

The primary item on the menu at Chez Boulan are oysters although they have great shrimp and good house wine...after all, you are near Bordeaux. France! Normally, I would have given Chez Boulan a However, we had an issue i want to address just...in case you go there. While I am sure the oysters are great; my wife is allergic to oysters, but likes other seafood like shrimp.. We explained (in our best French) this to the staff who speak primarily French. At one point we thought we were going to be asked to leave if we would not order oysters. but the staff was eventually accommodating and our waitress did a great job. We took a day trip from Bordeaux down to Arcachon, and then onto Cap-Ferrat to sample some of the world’s best oysters. Chez Boulan is about a minute walk away from the main port that you arrive at, but it’s a wonderful walk that...takes you past lots of boutiques and restaurants. We chose Chez Boulan due to its great reviews, and we were not disappointed! We hadn’t thought to book in advance, but we arrived an hour or so before they were due to close for lunch (they close at and reopen at for dinner) and they had a few spots outside for us to choose from.
