"Beautiful tea room, friendly service and what they had on offer was absolutely top notch. Would definitely give 5* but they were on a reduced menu so there was only one item for someone with dairy allergies (and none for vegans) which was the reason we'd gone because they'd gotten great reviews for their vegan options. "They were very busy, we had booked a table but the walk ins had made them too stretched. The food took ages, the service was poor. Not all of the food came out at the same time. I had to ask where our food was twice. They did apologise when I complained and they knocked some money off the bill but I think they need to think about the service and how shocking it was. They said they were caught out with the walk ins but if they are at capacity for booked customers, maybe they should say they are fully booked and give a good service to the diners they have. If you pay for a meal out as a family, it's a treat and this experience certainly didn't feel like a treat. Which is sad as I expect they can do much better if they have the right level of staff to customers."

"We arrived at the restaurant half an hour early and were promptly seated at our table, which was great. We enjoyed some drinks and conversation before placing our order. We were informed that the kitchen was busy and there would be a slight delay, which we understood given the packed restaurant. However, after an hour passed, we still hadn't received our food while other tables that arrived after us were being served. Just as we were about to inquire about our order, the Head chef realized that it hadn't been placed yet. We decided to cancel our starters and just ordered our mains, as we were quite hungry by then. Fortunately, the food arrived quickly and was beautifully presented and delicious. Dessert was also homemade and delightful. The only disappointment was the lack of apology for the delay and mishap with our order. A simple gesture of apology would have gone a long way in improving our overall experience."

"We visited here whilst staying in the area and the reviews looked great. We called to book a table the day before but reservations are not taken in the school holidays, we were advised instead that food would be served from 5.30pm on a Saturday. We arrived on Saturday at 5pm expecting it to be busy only to be met with a sign outside stating food is served all day and a mob of people all at the bar ordering food. It was a manic rush to find a table but we chose next to the bar, we chose our meals waited for the calm but it didn’t come so I joined the queue and waited patiently. The bar staff were lovely really friendly the order was taken with ease and the drinks were reasonably priced. Despite being so busy our food arrived very quickly within twenty mins. My beef burger was nice and hot but dripping with grease, my boyfriends chicken burger was cold and dry however we could not get anyone’s attention to get it changed. I ate as much of my meal as I could with the constantly dripping burger and my boyfriend had one bite of his chicken burger and left the rest. We paid our bill and promptly left, we could have raised it on paying but felt there was no point as we just wanted to leave as the hustle and bustle in the bar didn’t make for a relaxing eating experience. It’s a shame as the puddings board looked good and we were going to stay for the evening but that was not to be. "Such a shame we knew they didn’t have the full vegan menu (October 2020) but still had good options, popped in Tuesday afternoon to check for a family lunch the following day and were told we couldn’t book outside tables but to come before 3.30 after which they just served pizza. Arrived Wed 1.30, shown outside by a very friendly man we met at the door who I took to be the manager went to ask for menus and were told they weren’t serving food outside! No tables available inside (prefer outdoor anyway currently), wondered about takeaway sit out? But no. Ended up in the pub opposite with a bowl of chips as only vegan option. Will try again another time as it sounded good. Disappointing though."
