"We have been coming here for years, but the last time we came (last year) the food was disappointing, so we booked with trepidation, not being confident that it would be a good experience. However, we were very glad that it has largely returned to it’s previous high quality of food and service. 3 of us came for an early dinner, ordering a bottle of house white wine, 1 whitebait and calamari starter to share and then a main course for each of us veal, sea bass and hake with 2 glasses of wine between us The quality of the fish was excellent, while the veal was a little tough in places. The total cost of the meal was £110, so not cheap, but we will be going back again."

Owner needs to embrace the card machine a little more, my only minor critique but I will say they let me use it on my last visit. If you live in Portishead and haven't been here, even just for a take out pizza, you're nuts, do it as soon as possible. Service: Take out"

"We recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at this restaurant to celebrate a 90th birthday. The food was fabulous, with the marinated olives being a standout. We appreciated the thoughtful seating and low level music. To end the meal, the coffee and truffles were the perfect choice. Thank you for a wonderful experience!"

"Outstanding Sunday lunch!! Myself and a group of friends visited for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. The food was excellent, decent sized portions and very good quality. There were 6 of us in total and the whole group were in agreement. The service was just as good, nothing was too much trouble, the staff were incredibly friendly and professional. "Food was lovely and prompt. But we ordered a bottle of white wine and, only after it came to the table and had been poured, we discovered the wine wasn 't chilled and was actually quite warm. Turns out the fridge hadn 't been working all day but they hadn 't told us. We asked for a replacement cold wine but it was hard work and they tried to charge us more for an actual cold bottle, when it had been their lack of communication that caused the problem. It was very much a 'computer says no ' moment rather than a focus on customer service which was a bit rubbish. Such a shame as the staff and food were generally good."
