"We were staying in Denbigh for several nights and the Guildhall Tavern was handily located close to our accommodation. We had no great expectations, assuming the food wood be standard pub grub, but were pleasantly surprised both by the menu options available and the quality...of the cooking when it arrived so much so that (in a town rather lacking in decent places to eat) we returned on another evening. On the first occasion we shared some nice whitebait as a starter and I then enjoyed local lamb served with ratatouille, peas and a fondant potato. The second evening I had an excellent deconstructed guinness steak pie with the anticipated heavy pastry case replaced by a light puff pastry top, followed by a rather oversweet chocolate fondant cake. Both evenings were improved by a good value pint of fine Flintshire bitter and decent merlot served by the glass. On both nights the pub was sadly almost deserted with only a couple of other diners in the restaurant area. Whatever the reason (a lack of adjacent parking probably being one of them) the place deserves more custom. Service was excellent and I'd like to mention in particular a server who not only directed us to her favourite table (no. which had a lovely view of distant hills, but also went upstairs to the room in the hotel where she has lodgings to fetch a camomile teabag that my wife had requested and the restaurant didn't have."

"Fab place to go and enjoy a few drinks with friends and family or even alone. Lovely country setting with lots to offer. Great food and drinks. They are dog and horse FRIENDLY too. Huge bonus for some. Tom and Annie are very welcoming and its lovely that they take time out to acknowledge their customers on each visit. Having been recently I can say that they are doing the very best that they can within the governments guidelines. There are lots of seating areas with clear instructions marked on each table for customers to be able to place your order. Very straight forward. Well done to all at the Llindir! Hopefully soon we can all get back to some normality. It’s been a tough year for us all. Best wishes."

"We decided to visit Denbigh during the lockdown restrictions, we didn't expect to find many places open but the Glass Onion was. It was good to see that all protocols where adhered to, spacing of tables, number of customers, good hand sanitization station etc. ...to the point the service was good and the food was unexpectedly very good. I think the owners name is Sue, I was recommending the restaurant to a friend who told me that he had been there many times before and it was always good. Well done Sue and good luck for the future."

"I visited this cafe due to being early for a meeting and I fancied a coffee. I walked in and sat down, after a good 10 minutes of being ignored I was asked what do you want from a member of staff with no smile, no friendly tone to her voice. My coffee came, I wasn 't offered any sugar, milk etc. When I had finished my coffee I took the cup up to the till to save them collecting it from the table, again I was ignored by the till for a good 5 minutes, I paid the bill, there was no thank you or smile. As a paying costumer I don 't expect rudeness from any of the staff and I was quite disgusted to be honest, maybe a customer care course would be beneficial for the staff at this cafe, it costs nothing to be nice and have manners. I will not be returning and I would advise against going to this cafe."
