"We were visiting relatives in the area and needed a nice pub for lunch where we could bring both of our dogs. I googled and found this. I called at 12pm when they opened and the lady that answered was so friendly and helpful. We went in at 2pm and she sat us at a great table in the corner which gave the dogs space to lay down comfortably and not be in the way. Such a dog friendly pub with the boys getting several treats each and a dog bowl, not to mention lots of cuddles!!!! The food came and we all had different things but we ate everything. The food was absolutely delicious and great value. My partner is Irish and he confirmed that this was the best Guinness he had had in 9 years of visiting this area!!!!! Cannot find fault with anything. The staff, the food, the atmosphere, the drinks and unbelievably dog friendly. I'm sorry I didn't get the lady's name who served us but it was the tall blonde lady, who was fantastic. The roaring fire was so inviting, we had to drag ourselves away. We will most definitely be back ."

"A combination of a quiet day and messed up trains meant I could re visit a pub that I haven’t been in for nearly 10 years. It was just as I remembered it friendly and welcoming, with a real historic vibe. A pint of well kept and excellently served Joule’s Pale Ale, and as it was lunchtime I ordered a roast pork sandwich. This quickly arrived, loaded with pork, stuffing and apple sauce on two huge slices of granary bread, with some chips, salad, coleslaw and gravy on the side. £13.75 for a delicious sandwich, with a perfect pint in a fantastic pub. Less than ten minutes walk from the train station. Definitely recommended"

"The service at this restaurant was absolutely shocking. The waitress got our order wrong and did not apologize for her mistake. The chef also complained about changing the item, even though I had said it was fine to leave it. When returning with the corrected dish, the chef engaged directly with my 5-year-old, which was not acceptable. The chef also mentioned that if a mistake was made in the future, the meal would not be replaced, to which I replied that there would not be a next time. There is no "customer is always right" attitude in this establishment. The chef should stay in the kitchen as she is downright rude. Let the waiting staff do their job and customers should not have to deal with this incompetence."

"Brilliant! Delicious plentiful food, lots of curries, rices, naans, starters and desserts unlimited soft drinks for £20 per person!! You can take your own alcohol. The service was amazing, respectful but attentive not rushed at all. Tastefully decorated and plenty of room to get around. All you can eat under Cloches which keep the good hot. Will definitely return!"
