Firstly, the friendly guy on the door explained that we both didn’t have to go for the steak option, they are happy to do it for one for half the price. My partner opted for the steak and I went for the sea bass in a mushroom and champagne sauce with garlic potatoes, vegetables and half a bottle of wine. Mine was €16 for one person, or this could also be €32 for two people. We ordered mussels and fried Camembert each for starters. The waiters were extremely attentive, professional and friendly. The mussels were large and a lovely orange colour, marinated in a tomato, garlic and chilli sauce. I can honestly say they were some of the best mussels I have ever tasted. So tender but meaty. The waiter even came over to open my hand wipe as he could see I was getting the sauce all over my fingers! The mains were something else. The sea bass, although it still had some skin on it, was a nice crisp finish on the outside, and the mushroom and champagne sauce was delicious. Three pieces of really tender fish, beautifully presented as well. My partner’s steak was perfectly cooked for medium. Still pink but no blood. He says the taste was incredible and was so soft and tender, and one of the nicest he had had and he owns a restaurant! All of the time the waiters were very professional, topping up our wine glasses and checking the food was good. It is a really nice setting I think some people may be put off by the various Irish bars and other restaurants around it, but this is certainly the jewel in the crown! Would definitely recommend this for a combination of food, service and environment."
