The restaurant offers a dedicated vegan menu with a wide variety of options, as well as an excellent selection of desserts. I visited on a Sunday and had the vegan hut cake, which I highly recommend.

I enjoyed a delightful, laid-back meal here during Storm Babet. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I opted to take dessert home since the weather was deteriorating, and there were no issues with that. I'm already looking forward to returning soon! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the van parking area located at the back. The spot is well-maintained, level, and peaceful. Everything was easily accessible, reasonably priced, and the hosts were both charming and friendly. The food was outstanding, and the interior of the pub/restaurant was delightful. I visited the Durham Ox with my family, which included myself as a vegan, two vegetarians, and two omnivores. There were four vegan options on the main menu, and I chose the butternut tagine with Mediterranean couscous, which was absolutely delightful. My daughter ordered the children's Beyond Burger. There was also a vegan dessert menu that we sadly didn't have time for since we were heading to the cinema. I will definitely return to try out the other options!

The Durham Ox is ideally situated for exploring the Lincolnshire aviation trail, with RAF Coningsby just a few miles away. Additionally, Woodhall Spa and the charming market town of Horncastle are only a short walk away. Overall, the Durham Ox has so much to offer, and as a couple, we feel it gets better with each visit. Have never been to this pub before as recently moved to Horncastle and we have devised a list of all the pubs to visit. We have visited a few since moving, but this far outweighs the others. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and the DO catered for all my needs, the dishes for both needs were amazing. Food normally is bland and poorly presented, but not in this case, the taste was amazing and presentation was the same as I would expect from a high end restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, that we booked in for the following week with friends. Staff very polite and friendly it was a pleasure being in their company.
