nice meals and reasonably priced. it's however a little far away from town unless you are in the area.

Had a wonderful evening at The fox Excel the manager was a top bloke very understanding of my needs due to my disability and I had a great time, I would highly recommend

Not many eating places outside Excel serving hotels. Popped into The Fox for fish and chips. Tables sticky and not cleared, service very good, food greasy. Big tv for sports, lively bar.

Celebrated my brother and sister in-laws wedding reception here last Saturday May 18 2024. We had an amazing time, food was great as always, company amazing and a special moment for us to share as a family. This Chinese restaurant is one of the worst I’ve ever eaten at. When your food arrives just 5 minutes after ordering, that’s a red flag. The squid starter was just dry batter with tough squid, requiring significant chewing. The Schezwan Chicken was oily and slimy, and the steamed rice was barely warm. The shredded crispy beef my friend ordered was mostly hard with little meat. The place is nice, service is good, but the food is terrible considering the price.

We were seated promptly despite not having a reservation, but unfortunately, the service went downhill from there. It took a long time for our order to be taken, and even longer for our food to arrive - one dish was even forgotten! The woman with the iPad and green necklace was quite rude when we asked about a dish, she was dismissive and rolled her eyes. She tried to be kind at the end to make up for it, but it didn't make a difference. The salt and pepper squid was dry, overcooked, chewy, and tasteless. The sweetcorn and crab soup was also flavorless. Overall, the other dishes we tried were mediocre. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

It is a real shame that this restaurant is located near the hotels and ExCel, with so much construction being done by McLarens. I visited a couple of days in a row because my choices were limited after presenting at ExCel. The positive was that they served Olde Mout Cider on draft, but the negatives were that it felt like a Wetherspoons/Yates, the food quality was poor, the interior was sticky, the staff was not great, and overall I would rate it a 3 out of 5. Despite staying at Moxys for a few nights and visiting this place, I would not choose to go back, especially since there are other options just a few minutes away on the DLR.
