"Assolutamente impeccabili: un'attenzione al dettaglio quasi maniacale, e una qualità del cibo assolutamente superlativa. Solo per citare alcune chicche: nonostante sia all'aperto, c'è una zona fumatori per evitare di disturbare gli altri clienti con la puzza di fumo; i piatti ordinati arrivano tutti insieme; la musica ha il volume giusto e non risulta fastidioso; i camerieri sono super professionali; ci è stato fornito un antizanzare naturale preparato da loro; Atmosfera e ambiente, come già detto, al top. Prezzi onestissimi. Quello che traspare è una grande passione per il proprio lavoro e il desiderio di automigliorarsi monitorando anche i dettagli. Complimenti a chi c'è dietro questo splendido posto."

"I stayed at dinner with my husband in this restaurant, almost useless to say that the location is really romantic and suggestive. the staff who served us was really professional and an infinite kindness. As for dinner I can only say that I was impressed by the skill of the chef, all courses were up to expectations if not beyond! to signal the quality of raw material and the balance of always balanced flavors. I tasted some prawns with orange slices accompanied by finely seasoned vegetables to ensure that everything was an explosion of flavors and a pleasure for the palate, I also marked a tartare of meat that melted in the mouth, also this finely combined with a gentle elk that completed and enhanced goodness. delicious also the beans accompanied by typical vegetables and pork cheek with sauce to the primitives of manduria and granella on the bed of pointers and puree of potatoes that was as well as very tender, of a goodness “paradisiaca”. excellent combinations and kitchen. so I highly recommend a dinner in this restaurant. you will definitely stay more than satisfied!"

"“La taverna di Umberto” tappa fissa quando torno “a casa” nella mia amata Puglia. Ci vado ormai da anni e riesco ad emozionarmi ogni volta come fosse la prima. Rapporto qualità/prezzo mostruoso come pochi nel campo della ristorazione. Servizio al tavolo sempre presente ed efficiente. Il pesce sempre fresco, saporito e di altissimo livello preparato ed impiattato sapientemente. Vale la pena sempre farci un salto perché sennò poi te ne penti."

"Il locale è carino, curato ed in bella posizione. Il proprietario è attento e cordiale. Noi abbiamo preso 2 antipasti di buona qualità sia della materia prima che come preparazione (ottima la seppia con carciofi e pomodorini). Uno sconosciuto ma sfizioso Curvè (il Faggeto) ci ha accompagnati. Dov'è il problema allora ? Il problema è il costoso e del tutto insapore spaghetto ai ricci di mare ! Magiare uno spaghetto sciapo a Savelletri (la patria dei ricci) è grave e farlo pure pagare 20 € è un delitto. Lo abbiamo fatto presente, ma il risultato sono stati 2 biscottini edcun lemoncino offerti. Gentile da parte loro, ma quello spaghetto gridava vendetta."

"Our first night on a family trip in Puglia we went in to Savelletri to enjoy the Sunday evening 'passieggiata ' and find somewhere for dinner. Not so easy to get a table for 6 but we landed on il Veliero by the harbour it was a little empty at first but it filled up during our stay. A little strange that there was a lack of tables on the blank side but we had a waterside table and view. Half of us had very successful choices with seafood starters and sea bass, the others with just main courses of pasta and risotto less so. (Hence the two halves). However, two of the unlucky ones decided then to order desserts of tiramisu and cheesecake. What arrived was nothing short of astonishing they came in square plastic beakers ! For an Italian restaurant to serve tiramisu like that was unbelievable one expects home made or almost, even in the UK but in Italy !! To make matters worse they were still frozen almost solid and were sent back. The panna cotta was off the menu maybe my wife had a lucky escape ! They offered replacements but were declined and they were left off the bill at €5 a pop I 'm sorry, I think that was poor for a country which prides itself on superb desserts. An average €25 per head including wine, it sounds not too expensive but considering the rather average three only main pasta/risotto dishes it is more like €16 and €32 per head. The average dishes were unworthy; the good dishes were reasonable value. I would have rated il Veliero as three on that basis, but those desserts really blew it... The location is good, some dishes were good but forget dessert ! The two serving staff were pleasant but eventually overloaded and slow as the tables filled. On balance, we wouldn 't recommend."
