Gail's Bakery - Speisekarte

We went in and waited over 15min without the queue moving to find out the card machine is not working and they do not accept cash (legal tender). The staff did not notify anyone waiting. We found out by approaching the till following the long wait.

I normally have nothing bad to say about Gails, but today I had terrible service. For the amount of money I spend as a customer I do expect better. The curly haired kid with the glasses had a terrible attitude and wouldn’t know customer service if it smacked him in the head. Absolutely disgraceful service.

I’m a regular at many Gails stores and this store always have the rudest staff for some reason. It’s a small store and is often cramped with barely enough seats. Went in today and was served by the man with glasses, no greetings no thankyou, and charged me with dine-in price even though it was for takeout. Won’t be coming back here.

I paid for a latte with milk. The quality was way below standards for the price they charge. I asked for skimmed milk, the barista made my coffee with whole milk and did not even bother telling me until I confirmed in the end. The coffee milk was not even frothed properly and she rushed making the drink. I will never buy coffee from here again for that price.

I want to thank the staff at Gail's for their kindness. I often visit Gails and today I ordered 2 coffees from a very nice smiling man called Zeko, and when it came to paying i realised i had forgotten my card holder, i felt awful, and instead of any nonsense this kind member of staff immediately said i can pay next time with a great big smile, he made my day. Also thanks to Stefano who made me a sizzling hot Cappuccino. AWESOME.

Slow service. Almond croissants overcooked and coffee luke warm. Very expensive 16.80 for my latte my husbands espresso and 2 pastries. Watched the cook preparing food and would never come in there again. Sometimes wearing gloves but very often not. Wiping her hands on well used apron touching her face and her cap. Didn't wash hands after using sesame seeds could be big problem for anyone with allergies. Didn't wipe down prep surface after different types of product.

I’ve been a long term customer of Gail’s across multiple locations around London, it’s such a shame that the service in my local one is nothing short of disgraceful. I was served this morning by a lad with glasses whose attitude was stinking. Most of his hostile behaviour was aimed at us customers and the poor pastries seemed to take the rest, he had no problem slamming them down in front of us! Will not be returning, if I do it will be to the new one that’s opened outside of Golders Green station.

I worked at this branch for a few months and found the Assistant Bakery Manager to be rude to all staff, creating a miserable work environment. I have heard that she is now the General Manager of the bakery, so I would suggest avoiding this particular branch as she does not prioritize customer experience and creates a negative culture for the team. During my time there, my teammates were afraid to speak out about her abusive behavior. While my focus is always on customers and their experience, hers seems to be solely on advancing her own career, disregarding both customers and teammates. It is disappointing, as GAIL's is supposedly community-minded and a great place to work.
